  2. NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!
  3. Both of you are crazy. I think that is a good idea....i would like to experiment with no cracked one...but I dont ahve any. lol all of mine have those cracks. That and i dont get Det anymore for some reason....
  4. That one is to me. Still...$4500 is a bit much...ask for a 1 yr warrenty parts and labor and I would call it a deal.
  5. Every USMB member needs a 1600 sq ft garage. Climate controlled and with at least one fine lift. edit: an a fine PC+digi cam linked to USMB!
  6. what skip said. HEY SKIPPER!!! Aint seen you on in forever!
  7. I think this EA81 block i have had PS...i will check it out and measure tomorrow morn.
  8. It was strange at time when trying to build boost....the thing is really not that hard to take off....just get under there with the car running and see if you can find any leaks around the turbo side...from the head on up the up pipe area...there is where they break the most often.
  9. Myxalplyx: Install was stright forward...instructions in Jap and Eng! Comes with the EBC module...can put it anywhere pretty much...some vac line, harness for both the boost control solenoid and power for the EBC brainbox. Power: Just black wire to ground, and the red to an ignition switched fused power source. Done! Vac line for brain: tee'd it in with the boost guage...reads vac and boost right off the manifold. Boost control solenoid: Has line in for presure...and line in for wastegate, do not mix this up. Pretty stright forward tho. (note: I did use the turbo compressor housing as the boost source, may change this later, just for the heck of seeing what happens.) I already had lines routed inside the cockpit from a MBC i had...so I simply put the BCS under the dash near the ECU with those lines....I WILL change this later, as the BCS makes funny noises when controlling boost...hehe...but its a little annoying when trying to hear the engine. The BCS has a nice and tidy wiring harness for it...plug the appropriate end int the brain box, and the other into the wiring connector on the BCS. Done! So...power, BCS, adn vac line. Done! Now mount the thing. Its got really stright forward instrictions on how ot set low and high boost, warning, peak, spike, consistancy, boost cut off (IE, if boost gets too high it will save you!) with on/off modes, read REAL time pressure from the source and is very user freindly and adjustable on the fly. End conclusion: It works, and works well. Well worth the $/time spent on it. Now, for the coil.... Accel Super Stock coil, used for 2 years....replaced with an unknown age NAPA/ECHLIN IC12 Coil (this coil is what NAPA listings show for stock replacement on turbo cars...IC88 is for NA i believe, and NO, this is not the "milage plus" aka mileage less coil that ends in "SB", IE: IC12SB...no, its the good one, IC12). Conclusions: On LO boost (stock) I can ride it all the way to 6200 and everything is smooth as butter...I could not before...i would get missing and all kinds of crap past 5600 or so. On HI boost...i still get the same stuff above 5000....but I can actually feel the knocksensor/ECU/disty doing its PROPER job in retarding the timing due to the high boost conditions...but its retarding it TOO much, and keeping it retarded in the next gear...and bringing it back too slowly in the next gear when I want power...so...EDIS or something to fix that. All in all, the unknown age/unkown useage IC12 is better than the accell. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming....
  10. More details when back from the test drive. swapped coils. made makeshift wiring connector that looks like it will be peminant...if not...easy fix sstill...EBC is easy to remove from the stop its in...easily accelsible, seeable and tunabel going down the road..eventho manual say NOT to do this...hahaha More details when back from test drive. Oh, note: WIth the IC12 in, NO miss at idle anymore....we will see after a drive tho.
  11. Found the strippers....but now ive got a problem with previous owner+solder+solder all in the connector=connector doesnt slide in and make contact. Now ive got to correct that.
  12. Welcome to tonight's program! Tonight will be the 98521980475347.4333 th episode of WJM and the infamous GL-10 racer wagon! Tonight we will be installing a GReddy PRfec B-Spec II electronic boost controler. After that, WJM has found a NAPA/ECHLIN IC12 ignition coil amongst all the SUBARU stuff he has, and will be installing it inplace of a 2 year old Accell super stock coil. After those two items are installed, a test drive will surely commence! *now if I can just find my wire strippers, I can wire up power to the PRofec and then install the coil... * Stay tuned!
  13. Definatly sounds like a crossover problem. Ive had that happen 2 too many times.
  14. WTH?!?!?!? edit: i know its an ea81...but whats with the rest of it?
  15. Ok, im going to take the heads off this NA EJ22 i have. Pics to come.
  16. put the car in 4th gear...pull the ebrake up as tight as it will go...and tighten away. I usually get it about 100 ft lbs I guess...thats when it stops tightening with an 18inch breaker bar.
  17. I can see the point of using the RX7 trans...no front diff/axle stubs to mess with...and in my case with the RX, no center diff lock to worry about breaking and then be stranded cuz of no front axles. Looks like you could simply set the RX7 trans in where the suby is stock and the shifter would be right were its supposed to be stock. Another thing....why not get a 13B w/trans and slide that in there?
  18. with the new fuel system I am going to have on my spyder intake...it will make changing injectors a 5 mins job...so I am going to try both sets of injectors and see whats going to happen. I did look at the plastic on the end before i posted...and I did figure by the shape of the exit at the needle...it did have something to do with the spray.
  19. OK, im done with the thread. Next time I am not bumping a topic so controversial.
