  1. haha, cant do that! No welder...no money too. I was thinking on doing a swap from the RX, since the plans for the RX is an EJ257 conversion....Ooops! Just let the other secret out!
  2. I used this: http://www.permatex.com/products/prodidx.asp?automotive=yes&f_call=get_item&item_no=81878 The ultra copper. I cleaned the surface with a spray can of brake clean, it evaps fast, and leaves a dry clean surface.... Make sure you use a TINY TINY bit on the surface...very very thin...i think i went overboard, and went too thick...and the cams had play in them, before the lobes touched the cam followers, and they just rattled loosely...so make ONE really good THIN coat, and call it done. Let it set up for 12/24 hours, and then bolt it on. Make sure to use some of that to hold the oring in place too...
  3. Back in the day, I had this weighted down GL-10 wagon, turbo mind you, with a bottomless intake box and hacked off muffler, and a 3at...it kicked butt. Grand Am GT, in the dust, Honda Vtech, in the dust, pretty much anything except for high end V6 and V8 cars of the like...otherwise, id outrun it. Top speed was not high, but on the dash from 0 to 100, id beat it. Thats the GL-10 in the sig...wont quite do that now, but it will sure out handle anything now. So...my new toy, the RX, would do all that and more...it was even faster...but it pooped on me, and its sitting... Now, on to the DL. I thought the SPFI had potential....well, not that I can find. 77k miles on it...Delta Cams (677-260, same as what was in my RX), 3 inch cone filter on maf adapter plate bolted on the maf, and hacked off muffler...timing advanced to the edge...93 octane fuel...new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fresh t-belts, sythetic 10w-30 oil, Wix Filter, 155/80/13 front tires (waiting to be replaced with fresh 205/60/13 BFG's...) And...well, thats it. Its a DL, with power steering as the only option. A/C removed...otherwise, its a stripped really. Its still slow as crap. Loud and slow....like all the other ricecars out there...except mine is even slower. I know the 3AT isnt taking all that extra power, my turbo did great with the 3at, i still wish i had it. What to do...what to do....
  4. a little less than 1/2 inch. I am using 1/2 inch line, and they fit on it good.
  5. EH? the problem is fixed! Anyhow, just to let ya'll know, that plug wire issue ive done quite alot. lol
  6. I used some 1/2 fuel line good for 300 PSI, and the trans oil cooler I am using is IDENTICLE to the engine oil cooler that hayden sells...BOTH are rated at 300 PSI. BTW: Hayden automotive makes these adapters and coolers that i use.
  7. Ok, nutt7 is on the top of the list! scrapdaddytatum: how about you?
  8. Oh I know that there is a BIG difference on the turbo cars...I know this...my RX experienced that... The SPFI is starting to wake up to the cams...ive hacked the muffler off and fixed a few fuel system issues, and replaced the O2 sensor...as the one on the car was ripped apart and no wire present... So...i am hoping these mods will wake up some more power, that and i am about to run out of disty space to advance the timing, its at about 27 deg now.
  9. Well, ive actually got 2 left....but those are reserved for SUBARU Tex and Skip, at thier request. IF i can get enough interest up...meaning i can get 4 or more ppl interested in oil cooler adapters....i can place another order and have some more shipped in. I think i can get as many as 10 adapters....i'll have to double check. I know i can get 5. Ive had 2 people ask, and I have told them that I dont have anymore...so if those two speak up...there are two already. So what say you? EDIT: Oh and....has everyone got the oil coolers that I have sent out? Lemme know who has not gotten their's... svxpert: I am going to have to purchase a box for your parts...special trip tomorrow! yay!
  10. Hey...using the search works! I was aobut to post a new topic on how to lower my SPFI idle....time to go search out that screw. Yay for the search feature! Now if only my eyes can use its search feature to find that screw...
  11. Yeah, lets go ahead and let this secret I found out of the bag...ive go two spyders and two xt6 throt bodys....i guess its time to get to work. I know the bolt pattern is way different when compared to the non-spyder intakes.
  12. I took the picture my self....there were many STi's laying around near it....rally tires all over the place, a Group N WRX...and a pair of STi's undergoing tranformation to Group N'ism....now what other SUBARU dealer would so that?? Not to mention...D/R EJ AWD trans, the new 2004 (2005 here) legacys...it was a dream world. Edit: Oh btw...this was when i was over in Germany over the holidays...ive just now remembered what I was going to do with the pics when i got back here....LOL
  13. So....a factory MOMO wheel, and leather seats huh.....
  14. The USDM was the only place to get those 87+ surf board bumpers. I HATE those style with a passion. I want the 86 spec bumpers on everything. IF i ever do my RX up again...it WILL have an 86 bumper. Heres a car from Germany...yes, that is an RX front bumper and grille...and it had the D/R installed as well...No, I dont know the guy. Was in Duisburg thos.
  15. No prob. Ive gotten no word from anyone else. Ive sent out alot...more than 10 i think..
  16. it will create more pressure, as resistance to flow is pressure. You want the cooler setup to flow as freely as possible...which mine does not...as i would like to have AN fittings and a slightly different cooler core...but ti works fine. And I did have some leaking issues...just make sure everything is tight.
  17. "You are a: 2004 Impreza WRX STI! Dude, prepare to murder every car on the road...EVO's, 350z's, RX8's, GET OUT DA WAY!" Yep....and EVERYTIME i get behind the wheel of the GL-10...I AM Petter Solberg.
