  1. torxxx: The EJ engines have DIS. No disty to play with. Coil Pack, plugs and wires would help. Needs a tune up anyhow I bet. Fuel filter a must as well.
  2. Please please! Send them here: wmaham1701@yahoo.com I can get bigger images there than at hotmail. Thanks!
  3. id make a hose work with the EA82 manifold.
  4. That is great stuff! Also, i notice that there are no cam belt covers...and its a RALLY car. Great stuff. Got any kinds of special sheilds in place to protect thos belts, or is it all just factory stuff that was originally there?
  5. That must be a non-USDM forester. The turbos for the USDM, WRX, STi, Legacy (future one), Forester, Baja, all have those "oil coolers" on them.
  6. Im gonna go back to a stock turbo bottom end. But then again, i do have another 9.5:1 SB laying around...
  7. actually i made a mistake in ID'ing cyliders, cyl #1 is the problem child!
  8. Hey mods, i dont see any problems with any boundries....do ya'll? I really appreciate that you have posted here! I would certinly be interested in a crossover and downpipe...for the VF7, the stock RHB5 that came on the EA82 Turbos...since i wont be going to a TD04 now. I'll be sure and send an Email come spring time.
  9. Well, ive fixed it. But now I have picked up a permanit miss on cyl #1. Getting spark and fuel.....maybe it just gave up.
  10. All very very good information. So...that leaves me with a question...where does valvoline fall in this big picture? The snythetic and regualr.
  11. The chrome one is what I have in the GL-10 Turbo wagon....there are only two different accells avalible, yellow and chrome...aval for NAPA atleast. Then you've got some DIS and GM accells that we cant use w/out modification.
  12. http://www.subaru.com.au/news/?newsid=11951 If this is off topic, just tell me or move it.... Thats really neato....id love to be the cop driving that daily. Nothing could escape the grasp of the STi....except for a tuned STi (or stock) with a smart driver behind the wheel...
  13. Oh, that falls into the EA81 and older category, Hatch's too.
  14. Hm. How odd. That also doesnt list the XT 4wd, and turbo. The XT turbo 4wd 5spd w/air had an 18mm rear.
  15. XT's will not. Any EA82 powered sedan, wagon or coupe will fit. Other than that...i dont know. I do not think that Legacy, Impreza, Forester, Baja, EA81 and older, and Justy seats will bolt up...without modification(s).
  16. They list about 8 RX's. The ones I looked at...they want 10K for one. 13K for another. Whats the deal?
  17. Sho'nuff. Knock sensor connector. And nope, no rats or anything like that underhood. Just heat. Heat is what killed the insulation on these wires...that and they are about 18 years old come March. Anyhow, Ive patched things up, the wiring harness is sitting beside the puter on a work table...too tired to install it. Plus, gotta change tires and install another (quieter) exh before a running test is started...oh, and unfoul plug #2...its all oiled up.
  18. Yep, the RX struts are WAY WAY stuffer, 2X as stiff as the 4wd stuff. The spring rates are only 20lbs stiffer than a wagon on the front...and actually, only the wagons have the highest rear spring rates, the RX Coupe has 20 more lbs to catch up. The Sedans (including RX, and the XTs have the weakest rear springs, and well, heres the image: This was posted on the board a while back, i dont remember who gets credit for it, but credit to them. Oh, and one thing that is not correct about this...every 4WD ive seen, was equipted with a rear swaybar.
  19. Seems like alot of accels are going bad lately. Ive had mine in a year so far...the one in the RX is going the the DL, and its about 4 months old, so we'll see what it does...
  20. Ok, so when im out of rotella T next time, NAPA's synthetic 10w-30 is going in.
  21. Pic speaks for its self! So i pulled out the entire disty wiring harness to fix it...
  22. Yes, i have figured as much, since I work at NAPA. Packaging is the same and everything....its just that there is no where you can find that NAPA oil is related to the Valv company....unless you look at the MSDS (is that the abbrev?) safety sheets. Anyhow, i just dont know much about the Valv synthetics. I used some valv. synth. racing oil one time...it seemed to do quite well... The normal NAPA stuff seems sound as well. Otherwise, Ive never used valv. or NAPA oil reguarly to know...i figured there woudl be some opinions here to be found.
  23. NAPA has come out with 2 new items, high mileage and sythetic. Both below the cost of it Valvoline brother...especially the synthetic at employee cost...need i say, $2.08 a QT....it retails for $3.99 (or was it $3.49?) It WAS on sale for $2.99.... Anyhow, who cares about the high mileage/valv max life, i think thats a crock of bull snit-sil. So, this synthetic oil, which is supposidly made by Valvoline...woudl you guys trust it inplace of the real valv/mobil/castrol??? The mobil and castrol are both avalible to me as well...but only at $4.84 a QT, vs the walk in of $4.99...so thats rather expensive to keep pouring in my GL-10 everyday...it uses 1 QT every 100 miles...and since its about 50 mile to work, and 50 back...thats $5 a day! So...this NAPA Synth...what do ya'll think??? Now note that once I get the DL on the road, i could use the GL-10 as a test bed for this stuff, since the engine is going out anyhow...and just see how long it takes to finally quit. So far its run on Mobil 1 10W-30 synth for 21,000 miles...now its getting a fleet 15w-40 oil, Rotella T, for the time being...since its cheaper...but this NAPA is only 2 cents more expensive to me to use... Opinions? Rants/raves? Facts? Fiction?
