  1. email me. My PM inbox should not be full now, ive deleted some stuff. Lets see about those pics... I have 4 cooler adapter left.
  2. Hey...cant go wrong with an RX. No, no typo...RX.
  3. I was thinking about using a DIS system from an EJ engine....on the EA82 ofcourse. Lets start this new performance discussion shall we? How hard will it be? Will i have to rewire the whole car? will the stock EJ22 DIS system just bolt on and work? How do I install such and thing and make it talk to the stock ECU, and for them to work with each other and not conflict at 80 mph and just quit? Blah blah blah....more Q's...
  4. ALL AWD subaru 5spd transmission attached to an EJ engine had viscous center diffs. The autos have clutch packs, electronically controlled. Before the EJs....they were open diffs, or like the standard 4wd, OR, the FT4WD 4EAT auto trans had clutch packs like the newer AWD autos begind the EJ engines.
  5. For those of you who wanted them, ive got some more in. 5 of them to be exact. SUBARU tex and Skip has first dibs... Here is the link to the thread in the marketplace: http://usmb.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8705
  6. I know the MPFI and Turbo EA82's use the SAME air flow meters for 85-86, and the same MAF for 87+ The thing that measures the manifold pressure is a sensor. The thing that measure HOW MUCH AIR is flowing into the engine is the air flow meter. There are no differences between these items on MPFI and turbo. The MPFI is turbo ready.
  7. should not even have to mod any electronics. Just take the turbo off, and fit a y-pipe, and use nonturbo intake peices...bam, its done....unless you replace the pistons and cam....then youd have to take the engine apart ofcourse! I seriously dont think any more mods other than those would be nessisary to make it N/A....pistons, cam, intake and exhuast to accomodate the absence of the turbo. Oh, and block off the turbo coolant and oil lines. Easy peasy.
  8. my ecu didnt freak when i had the turbo removed for a day from my GL-10...
  9. Well, the XT4wd turbo w/air suspenstion and 5spd had an 18mm rear bar....that was my parts car for my 4wd conversion.
  10. when the airfuel mixture ignites before ti supposed to, it creates a ping/knock sound...the knock sensor is designed to pick up those exact vibrations created from the preignition/detonation/knock/ping or whatever you want to call it. I send a signal of some sort.strenght to the ECU...the ECU then calculates and retards the timing on the disty...reducing the preignition.
  11. What a trip.....if only the great GL-10 could attend.... Best of luck!
  12. omg....i just realized that my DL could be a trashwagon no problem....
  13. haha....that great stuff. The Miles Fox crew. That parts list is what mine looked like for he 5spd and 4wd conversion.....but i needed a few more parts, since I was going from 2wd to 4wd.
  14. I wonder if mine already counts... 2wd auto to 4wd 5spd conversion, with a FT4WD trans... Custom springs, camber plates 9.5:1 bottom end some guages...i once had a computer sound system wired in JDM STi door decals, on the door where else! And Ive got a pair of 100watt aircraft spotlights mounted in the fog light position up front.
  15. ive not read those yet....but here is my experience....with my knock sensor wires all fryed like they were...i surged. After I fixed that, no more surge. Ive adjusted the timing w/out following any procedure what-so-ever. Running warm, cold, hot, before warm up, etc...ive never had a surge issue, until the knock sensor was out of whack, and the i ran 87 octane fuel. Also, loose fuel pump connections will cause surge...as well as the fuel pressure not being stable....which involves that fuel pump.
  16. Put an EA82 MPFI in there. find an XT non turbo. More common than turbo XTs around here.
  17. Well, its back in time just like it should have been in 1989. Its got a coolant leak..small tho, and needs intake gaskets done. Air leak on the 1-3 side. I bet thats the coolant leak too...and the slight coolant in the exh. Otherwise, change the fluids, some TLC here and there...and its ready to go!
  18. United States Domstic Market. Like JDM=Japanese Domestic Market There are alot of differences between the JDM WRX and USDM WRX. As well as the STi....the main one being the EJ207 is used for JDM and the rest of the world, but the USDM gets the EJ257. The WRX in both cases get the EJ205. BOth of them used ot get the same engine in Japan, but that changed with the GD*/GG* chassis.
