  1. the body is going to stay the same as we last seen it in production.
  2. My repair manual states "excessive speed in corners" for that outside tire wear... I go thru a set of tires in 5k miles....but then again i drive the roads like its the WRC.... I'd have the alighment checked again....just to be safe.
  3. I just got a memo faxed to us...SOA has been needing a good econobox car priced from 8k-12k, 4wd, reliable and user freindly. Many of the overseas cars are too small or too ungainly and weak for the american market. SOA in conjuction with SOJ are going to bring the Leone back into production with a newly designed EA82! All of the EA82's will get slightly different heads, new timing belt system, DIS+ engine management system....turbo charged engines are offered as an option across the line! SOA expects 140~160 NA ponies from the base engines, and 180~200 from the turbo version, which will be AIR/WATER intercooled! We will again be graced with DL, GL, GL-10 trim levels, and the RX is back in the sedan and coupe...yes, wagon/sedan/coupe is back! Only minor updates to the overall body scheme to meet new safty standards. Larger brakes on the 4x140MM pattern, 14" steelies standard on the DL's, 14 Alloys std on the GL. 15' Alloys standard on the GL-10s, and 15x7 Enki's standard for the RX's. SUBARU will also have a variety of affordable 14~16 inch wheels avalible as an option. The transmissions have been fully revised. RX models get FRONT and rear LSD standard, and the Dual Range is back, also with DCCD-C like the 06 STi's get. The RX's will base price at about 16k. AWD is standard on all other models, LSD rear is standard on all models on form of a VLSD rear...the center is the standard viscous coupler. DL and GL models have a Dual range optional (only a $400 option on pre ordered cars). Thats all I can type for now! Just wanted to share the GREAT news!
  4. Dude....thats awesome. Cant wait to see it in person, with a hood and grille on it ofcourse.
  5. Contact Mike Melton at Folger SUBARU, 1-704-536-9635. He has them in stock.
  6. No loose roof stuff for me. I would have purchased the wheel bearing kit from the dealer (both bearings, seals and the spacer), as its CHEAP! but we didnt have one in stock. i dont know where these came from, one of the techs had them laying around, and gave them to me. They were new in the packaging.
  7. I replaced the noisy RF wheel beaing....EASY job to do...and now the car is 10000% quiet'r now.... its got some REAL high temp racing brake fluid in it now...Motul DOT 5.1. Hood is white....gotta smooth it out and make it shinny now. Comming up april 8th, the RX will be back on a dyno again. It WILL have a wideband hooked up to read AF's on it....I'll do several runs at stock boost....and several on autox boost levels....and I'll be sure to post them up... Since the SCCA Solo2 National Tour is that weekend...I'll need to throw the RX on a set of scales to make sure it meets the 2600 lb min weight for SM as per rules since its 4wd and turbo. It will be in Autox time....low fuel, and no junk in the car and no driver. Next planned mod: Super Pro suspension bushings, ALL OF THEM.
  8. yay! no more LOUD rump roast noise fron right front! now I get to listen to all the other loose pannels in the car and find them and fix them...then the car will be like a new Legacy inside! QUIET!
  9. I FINALLY painted the hood today. Pics to come.
  10. or a hole in the headgasket. good points....i shoudl go to top speed and have the wideband hooked up next time im down there.
  11. How? Press out old, press new in? easy? simple? kinda that "DUH" when you look at it off the car with it on a bench top?
  12. damnit justin. the engine is fine as it is. If I were doing something else to it, like 19 PSI, a turbo...or something else....Id need to do EM right now. THe enigne is fine right now, the most IMPORTANTA mod that I need to take care of next is the COOLING system. Bigger rad and good coolant is going in it this weekend, along with dual electric fans. Otherwise...getting ALL the current power to the ground and making the car hookup better is on the top of the list after the cooling system.
  13. mmmmkay. Well...funny how I heard cv joints clicking under pain with the diff locked...
  14. I could easily pick up 1~2 seconds from suspension bushings, and D2 coil overs. Better tires...? well, thats about 1g right there. I'd need some 13x9 Diam racing wheels...for the 235/45/13 Khumo Ecsta V700's...Im already running those, but in 215/50/13. They are just now reaching optimal dry race 'tread' depth. Ive got GR2's front and stock RX (like new when i got them) rear dampers with 350/450 springs...works fine for autox speeds, no bounce...but yes its underdamped. Right now getting the power down is what Im concerned about...the next thing will be the busihngs and D2's once I figure out about the Front LSD. As for locking the center diff....I rarely even lock it for launches. With the race tires on the car...im sure to break an axle or something else in the drivetrain on the dry tarmac. If it were rallyx...i'd be locked all the time.
  15. First off, I searched....supposily impossible to do with factory parts. Phantom grip sucks. I know this from many ppl I know who have/had them and they suck and fall apart easily. I know the guy who builds the Miata spec racer rear LSDs personally and he will make me a front, center and rear custom diff, planetary with any TQ split I want, or clutch type LSD...but I dont have any cash at all to spare for that What I do have to spare for experimentation is a RX box, an XT FT4WD box, and a 3.70 LSD diff. I want to retro the rear LSD into the front of the RX box. WHY do I NEED a front LSD? I could have picked up 1 more second at the last autocross....that second was lost due to INSIDE FRONT wheel spin out of corners....one section was a long-off-camber-uphill...if I could have got all the power down, that section alone was worth 1/2 a second or more. WHY can this NOT be done?
  16. thats where I got my replacement pump for my GL-10...but ti was like $70 something.
  17. nahh....ive got/had no leaks form new ones with no sealant.
  18. the onyl reason his turn around time is more than what you think it could be is due to the fact he does 100's of turbos a week.
  19. no sealants needed for anything involving the head gasket, including the oil passage oring.
  20. for the works on the exh side of a 13g it comes to like 175....or something. alot of people are not like us, we have resources so we can do this kind of stuff.....most dont, so Jerry had and idea for a serive and buisness is born for him. I dont have the resources to PnP a turbo, nor the knowledge, so I just gave it to him.
