  2. Look at this car http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=4181 Dosn't look to bad dose it. This car is un-safe to drive. I bought this car form a bone yard for trans and parts. The doors are nice and the interior was very clean. I kinda was wondering why some one would junk it, carbed EA82 with a bad head gasket. But when I was pulling the trans, when I put the jack stand on the sub-frame and let off the jack. The jackstand went through the sub-frame and the floor into the car, Wow. Now the under side of this car didn't look all that bad, but most of it was paper thin from rust. You have to be carefull about buying a twenty your old car, any car, from the Rust Belt States. 7. These guy's sell a dual carb kit. http://www.ramengines.com/index.html Not cheap, but they are getting 100hp using it with other mods. A guy could build one of his own for a lot less money.
  8. Found this.http://www.moonlightmechanic.com/store/wizard.asp?year=1986&make=SU&model=BRT-4WD-002&category=K&part=U-Joint
  9. We are talking about a Michigan car here. I'm looking at it as a parts car. I haven't looked underneath the car yet(to much snow), but by the looks of the skin, I'd say its preaty much gone. I've got a ea82 carb engine with a bad head. If the heads are workable, maybe I can put togeather a nice little motor for my Brat.
  10. How much is a 87-88 GL-10 4dr with a smoked motor worth? I mean the kid got it so hot, the timing covers melted. The mechanic friend said he couldn't even pull the head bolts with an IR 625lbs air gun. The interier is nice but the body is rusted. AWD 5sp.
  11. Has anyone used or are using the Pacer brand Flexible Fender Flares? http://www.pacerperformance.com/pages/products.asp?id=2
  12. Must be these new glasses, I told the Doc. they wern't right.
  13. Thats got to be one tall rump roast fence in the back ground. I copied the pic. and put in another program to blow it up to see what kind of wheels he has on it. That's where you can see things don't look quite right.
  14. I was thinking of using a system like I use in my truck to hold the Reese 5th wheel hitch in. Two rails are bolted through the bed and frame, pull 4 pins and the hitch is out of there, with just two low profile rails left.
  15. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4523996164&category=6467 Is it me, or is there somthing wrong with this picture? The foregound and the background seem out of perspective with the car. Could this be a picture of a Tamya Brat that's been digitaly modified, or am I just seeing things.
  16. Slide the boot on the wire before you put the connector on and crimp it. Also if you use grease make sure it is a silicon based grease.
  17. I think the Dynomax Turbo is great sounding muffer. I ran one on my truck for many years, they flow fairly good and hold up well.
  18. 225/50/15 23.8" tall 7+" wide. That's what I'm going to run on my Brat with no lift.
  19. Take a big screwdiver and insert between the u-joint and rack it back and forth. If you have any movement at all the u-joint is bad.
  20. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html , http://www.dsm.org/tools/tiresize.htm or This one is very good http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?action=submit
  21. That's the way it's done. Plus the Rockford U-joints have a grease zert.
  22. No. The C clips hold the caps in from the bottom near the X.
  23. www.Rockforddriveline.com PN. 430-10 They are not that hard to change, if you have a die grinder or a little more work with a file to clean out the old u-joint caps. I believe they come with directions in the box. If you have a Drive Shaft Shop near you, call them up. They might have them setting on the shelf, like the shop near me did.
  24. www.Summitracing.com has the oil filter relocation kits, single TRD-1113 or SUM-G4985 and the dual filter TRD-1213 or SUM-G4986 These are for a Ford 3/4-16 mount, if they are the same as the EA Subaru oil filter.
