  4. good luck brother, keep swappin solenoids til it stops comin up. also, my friends 88 gl also has running lights/dash lights that are on whenever the key is. thing is, his still has stock stereo (for now). so, i think i can count my stereo wiring out as the cause. so ill ask once again: ''how come my lights always be on and stuff? i know it aint the v switch''

  7. today i installed new plugs. then i took TheLoyales' advice and straightened, then painted the battering ram. i may get some flat black and do it over, its on the verge of out-glossing the rest of the car.

  10. i need to cut some more decals......we have initiates and my supply is low. we pulled a 30hr week last weekend to get a fellas car up and going proper. he stuck out the whole time and busted his posterior. side note: my first complete ea82 build runs super duper good:D I digress........

  12. let me guess, it still has a plastic oil seperator plate on the back? when those leak you gotta get a metal one from the dealer. however, if you overheated thats not good news for your hgs.

  17. ahh ej swap, no wonder. im still driving my dinosaurs around. so, next question; is the one with 6 springs inherently better than one with 4? forgive me, i still havent mastered the physics and internal clutch disc characteristics. i just know how to take em off and put em on. thickness is close enough to call it a push. thanx for the input btw
  18. is it pinging? i drove mine for awhile like that before i decided to time it correctly. did it like it? no. even less power? yes. permanent damage? none that i can tell. id fix it tho, its not that hard and these things are slow enough to begin with.
  19. weird. 3.7 gears or something? or did the parts guy think he knew what he was talking about and in reality ( as it so often happens) he did not.
  20. oh ya my bad. splines are identical. checked with clutch tool. the 4 spring came out of one of my cars (loyale probably), and the other disc/pressure plate came with the spare motor i got with the wifes new 88. hmmmmm.......
  21. i have two different clutch discs in my garage, both of which are same in OD. one has 4 springs, the other has 6. could someone splain this to me? thanx folks, RV

  24. a lot of us are pros. ever heard of a search function? use it. dont be insulting in here, and btw the yota guys wont take that crap either. if you need an answer that bad then go pay a pro to do it for you. otherwise use your keyboard and brain and figure it out. cmon, your thread isnt the only one on this subject so i know you can find one. this is the best soob forum ive ever seen. we're so helpful in fact that at times we can even help you help yourself. use the brake booster line. or one of the many other responses. good luck, hope it works RV
