Are86 GL Wagons squirrly at highway speeds?
my 86 gl wag does well at highway speeds. check your alignment. my 91 loyale sucks on the freeway because i lifted it and have beat it, it needs new suspension and alignment. there will be a difference between your 86 and 99 no matter what you do but you can install a rear swaybar off a turbo car. hope this helps RV

Is there an idiot proof way to know if I broke a timing belt?
i had a hole in one of my covers that let crap in, but not out. as a result i got to learn how to do t-belts. on christmas morning. before a six hour drive. in my climate (pnw) i havent seen significant icing of anything under the hood except for when i didnt have enough antifreeze in my water. (oops) moral: no covers. stuff spins off instead of accumulating. RV

Vent visors on my loyale?
rumblee has some vent wisors on his turbo wagon. he said they were on there when he bought the car. hard to think someone ordered em from japan, could be wrong tho. this sounds like a job for: trial and error man! RV however, covering the rear windows will take some engineering, the ones in Robs link/pic were on a touring wag as well (if that matters)

Drilling out 6 lug wheels
i used 6X140 wheels off a 91 mitsubishi montero and the offset is perfect. i can tuck all four. the are 15" and dont stick out like a lot of chevy/yota wheels that ive seen. bear in mind not all yota wheels will stick out. RV

Engine Question
i know you dont need to hear it, but if its cheaper or at least easier to find why not go ej? you know you can carb those right? my 86 wagon is heading in that direction. SJR's wheeler still has all the ea wiring and a ej w/ no computer= easy (or easier anyway). sorry to you on this, just a suggestion. good luck, hope it works out RV

Help with Stripped threads
thanx gary, i was under the impression that i didnt have to use a helicoil if i drilled it out and used a tap. i suppose ill google it, i was just hpoing i could find some some ea82 exhaust stud specific tappage info. RV

Help with Stripped threads
so both of my ea82 wags have a stripped exhaust stud on one side. what size tap do i need and what size bit to drill out the hole? PS no, i didnt strip them, one came with the motor i put in my loyale(thanx again, scott). and the other was partially stripped on my 86 but it has a little thread in the end of the hole. thanx folks, RV

-
'Low Fuel' light?
to clear up any confusion my light(s) do come on above the E. and to weather or not it actually has 2.4 gallons i dont know, thats just what the owners manual said. RV
-
'Low Fuel' light?
in the owners manual for my 86 wag and my 91 loyale wag it says you have 2.4 gallons left when the light comes on. my light (both of them) come on around 1/8 of a tank (2.4ish gallons). it sounds like either you dont have a light(unlikely but possible) or its malfunctioning. HTH RV

Is this really a '92 Loyale, or is it older?
