What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
I brought my Brat down from Chicago to New Orleans where I've been living for the past four months. Boy did I miss her. Time for the fun to begin again!

my brat's stripes - aftermarket or OEM?
Hey all, Am planning to paint my '86 Brat sometime in the near future as it's a bit of a mess aesthetically. But one thing I really like are the side stripes that are on it, as in the picture below. If at all possible, I'd like to put something like these back on once I've got the new paint job done (gonna keep the color). However, I was wondering if these stripes just happened to be a previous owner's aftermarket artwork, or if they came stock from Subaru, and if so, where on earth could I find some? Thanks in advance!

Age Old Question
I have one of each...a newer car ('02 Wrx) and an old gen ('86 brat) I like each of them for their respective uniqueness: The bugeye has all the 'cool' newer features and if I want the comforts of that, she's what I'll drive. When I got her she was pretty beat up and I put a lot of work into her to keep her running and looking good. Shes got character and I love her. Also, like man on the moon said, she's what I'll drive when a rumbling, constantly in the works BRAT just won't cut it for a given situation. My bugeye is completely stock except for rims and the air inlet, which I replaced with a better one when the old one cracked where it meets the turbo. With my old gen....she's also got character. A unique character that is different from any kind of newer car...just like 86BRATMAN said. I also enjoy the challenge of keeping her running and the relative simplicity as well. I love both my cars and odont ever plan on getting rid of them (i'll just have to add on to the collection )

installing an external oil pressure sensor
Apparently this runs off the 12v accessory power... where would I find that? what does it look like? Also, where is the headlight switch? If anyone has photos or diagrams that would be extremely helpful!

installing an external oil pressure sensor
So, I am pretty sure the oil pressure gauge in my cluster for my '86 Brat is dead/defunct/a stiff/pushing up the daisies/joined the choir invisible..... I just got myself an aftermarket oil pressure gauge (prosport), and never having installed one before was wondering if it's possible to just wire it to the oem sender that's next to the filter in the ea81.... It says it does come with it's own sender unit though, so is there another oil galley plug where such things are normally installed? Thanks in advance from a beginner

Old Gens and the long haul: Road trip discussion
My first ride in my little '86 Brat was about 1500 miles from Salt Lake City to Chicago. She drove like a champ... and she's about to head from Chicago to New Orleans in about a week (another 1300 miles).

1986 Subaru Brat Norway
wow, cool! Do you know if that was a standard feature on all 2nd gens? Or was it unique to '86? or to your region? I have an '86 brat here in the states, but if it has such an option, I'm not aware of it (at least there is no sticker =P... and she's currently about 1000 miles away from me). Anyhow, welcome to the board! Your brat is absolutely gorgeous!!!

looking for post: 80's radio mod for AUX cable
I've been looking and looking for this post, but haven't been able to find it... I forgot who it was, but about 6 months ago, someone made a post on installing an AUX port in an '80's oem radio. I was following it, but seem to have lost it when the board switched over to the new software. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated. Thanks much!
