  1. your motor is still a baby.. no need to spend $2000 bucks on a new engine..when the time comes, just do a complete reseal, new water/oil pumps, timing belts, tune up. new clutch (if needed) and you will be set for a long time
  2. yeah just remove it..it is a silencer..as long as you have innder fender wells your OK
  3. nice find man... pre 87 cars with painted bumpers are pretty rare
  4. can anyone help me out..i got suspension and will be kit'ing my coupe and respraying it...so I have a color in mind, Satin Italian Olive. Gravel, I hope you don't mind me using a pic of your car, as it will be close to mine when done (spoilerless, 5 lug).. so can someone take this pic can you do the rims and molding black, lower it and make it this color http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v97/epitome808/TFO/DSC00682.jpg many thanks ahead of time, -Brad
  5. hey since you have the bumper off, you might as well remove the snorkel from the inside of the fender:brow:
  6. no its not going to hurt any thing...it does that when a bulbs is out, or missing..in your case. .when there is less resistance it blinks faster
  7. well i was refering to EJ as in newer generation subaru engines(legacy's impreza's..)..way more power than the old ones, better reliabilty, etc.. so if you want more power i would say dont even bother with the old engines. MS refers to MegaSquirt..it is a cheap engine management system
  8. for $1500....i say run EJ engine & tranny and get MS to run it all...
  9. well i allready called you. but if i drop by this week, i'lL buy you a mickey's:lol:
  10. well man, check the prices on your rims against http://www.machiii.net/Rota_wheels.html yoko's and nittos are two good tire choices... i currently run nitto Neo-Gens and love them (waaayyy better than toyo proxes fz4..even though toyo owns nitto:rolleyes: ) i got my tires through www.discounttiredirect.com hope that helps man
  11. well brian, the vf11 is samller than the td04
  12. buying time is true. get a new alt. asap..I started having alt problems with my coupe..lasted about 3 days before it finally died
  13. what rims are you going to get....since you going for street and not offroad, as a FYI.... DO NOT go less than a 48mm offset
  14. to simplifiy things...the MBC needs to go in between a "loop" of vacume hoose between the turbo and the wastegate...
  15. well first off different turbos will put out differents amount of air at the same psi... popular turbo swaps for the EA82 are the VF11 ( stock usdm leagacy turbo) and the TD04 ( stock usdm 02-05 wrx turbo) the vf11 will bolt to a stock EA82 up-pipe, you will need a new downpipe however, any any td04 wrx DP will work..you will need to modifiy the oil and/or coolant lines and intake pipes.i do not have "details" as i have not startd my swap yet.. the TD04 will need to have its flange welded to your up-pipe and will need a wrx downpipe...lines will need to be slightly modified and new air pipes made.. hope that helps
  16. sooo how old are you... old farts dont go see motorhead
  17. as for larger wheels.. 17- 205-40-17 16- 205 45 16 18- 205 35 18 you can maybe go wider, not sure how much room is on the xt6, but the sidewalls listed will be retaining stock wheel diameter.. no need to convert to 6 lug..you're set allready with the 5.. rota offers alot of wheel choices in a 48mm offset 5x100 that are light not too expensive
  18. thats awesome..very cool to show your son the "whole" country .. there are a bunch of us in portland if you need any help
  19. well if you can use sprayers..why not try 2 electric fans ontop of your IC?
  20. im just waitng for subaru to make another coupe! MMMm B11, 394 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque
  21. go with an aftermarket deck..for the 300-400 range you can get a really nice cd player that can even play MP3 cd's(which makes up for not having a changer). since an aftermarket deck has pre-outs, you have the option of adding amps later on down the road.
  22. instead of a front mount, why don't you just save time and spend the money on a hard line C0 2 spray kit?...C02 is cheaper to fill than NOS to cool your IC example http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7960123512&category=38634&sspagename=WDVW
  23. FYI you will need sustom axles if using a D/R tranny...xt6 axels with 23 spline #95lac inner DOJ's
