  1. I did the same thing with my wifes fancy smancy hair dryer (on cold duh) and let me tell you....300HP at the rear wheels. I was peeling out at all 4 corners. Then my wife got out of the shower and it was back to boring.
  2. Have you checked the underside to see if you have hit anyone and their lifeless body is slowing you down.
  3. Mine stopped working the other day so I smacked the dash and they came back on and have worked ever since. I put the fear of me into them.....works on the engine too.
  4. Notice any excess moisture from your exhaust pipe? Possible you have a leak in your overfolw tank that sprays on your engine and evaps? Maybe the neighborhood animals have installed one of those hoses like my hampster had on it's cage so it could drink from your overflow tank and then run away and die?
  5. There is a guy on ebay that imports JDM Subaru stuff. Type "Subaru engine" in the search bar and look for JDM in the title. You could also look for "subaru JDM" too. Good luck. If you are getting something imported have them throw a fine looking asain female in the crate. Like the ones I see at Hot Import Nights. Yummy. Hope this helps.
  6. "1996 with 230K and still going stong." HAHAHA I have a 90 legacy wagon with 238.5K and it's like the gravatron.....with the loud music. Play catch up..start driving.
  7. I will be changing my o2 sensor as soon as it gets here. I purchased a new OEM style o2 off ebay for $60.00 I just plug it in and go. Reset the CEL (pull the #14 fuse for a few hours) to clear all codes, then if this does not help I would simply turn the idle up a tad. Bang on your cat and see if it is a little clogged.
  8. Do a search on the board for "legacy codes" and you should be set. I would clear the codes first and then see if they come back. There is a chance you have some old codes stored. Pull the #14 fuse and leave it out for a few hours, then re-install it. Drive your vehicle as usuall and then check for codes. These codes you should be able to cross reference with the info you find on the board. Hope this helps. Josh please give this person the link to the codes if you have it handy.
  9. Sounds like you have some air pockets trapped in your system. Do a search on the borad for "burping" your vehicles system. If that doesn't work look into other causes.
  10. I have an MP3 player in my car (panasonic headunit) but I can only fit about 170 songs per CD. The headunit has CD changer input so I am going to hook my laptop up to the Audio in so I can take all my music with me and watch DVD's when I am chillin.
  11. Speaking of Wal-mart...when I was younger I ahd a nissan with custom rims on it. I had just bought some new low-profile tires from a custom shop not far from my home and I figured I would have wally world put them on for me because I worked there and they could do it while I was art work, and save some greenbacks. I got my truck back at the end of my shift and drove home like always. This time wasn't like the others, two of my rims were shaking like crazy. I got out to investigate and there were only 2 of 6 lug nuts holding each rim on. Turns out they over torqued the sheeot of the lugs and stripped every single stud. They had to pay to tow the truck there and replace 24 lug nuts. I avoid wal-mart but get my tires from Sams. I stand by the bay to make sure they do not try anything funny.
  12. The knock sensors on the early legacys are known for failing due to a defect. Everytime my engine gets any kind of wet it throws up that code. I let it dry out and then reset it...because I am too lazy to replace it.
  13. My legacy is AWD so I would get the AT TEMP light if I was exceeding the heat. Has anybody ever replaced the filter that is near the radiator for the tranny?
  14. I was at the bell yesterday when I noticed a 90 legacy wagon L AWD with the 5spd for sale in the parking lot. I called the guy on it and he wants $1,200.00 for it. He said it has a new radiator, new plugs, wires, Front CV Axles, and tires aren't bad either. The engine and tranny only have 140K on them....Is it worth it? Let me know because I am considering it...
  15. Here is a picture of my new subs. Please see my gallary postings for more pictures. Notice that my rearview mirror is tilted to the right...thats because I was dropping the bass before I took this picture and when it drops hard it makes my mirror tilt.
  16. There is a guy on ebay that sells OEM direct replacements for a lot of cars. I just bought one for my 90 legacy. I will let everyone know how it works when I get it.
  17. I pulled the plug and drianed what I could get out then refilled it. I was thinking about changing both filters. It only slams into first when I really get on it but usually hesitates going into third all the time. I doesn't slip at all though. I have had cars with sliping tranny but this isn't one of them yet.
  18. I put a 22mm impact socket on a long breaker bar and rested the breaker bar on a piece of wood coming up from the ground yet under the hood. Like previously mentioned...2 short bursts and it was free. MAke sure you tighten it up very well when you are done by removing the rubber plug behind the throttle body and insering a large screw driver and then tightening the crank bolt with said breaker bar and socket. I learned the hard way...My pulley came off the other day! That sucked. Never left the vehicle just backed out enought to make me angry.
  19. I have a weird noise coming from undernesth my car. It sounds like a tin can full of rocks when I step on the gas. Oh yeah...I gutted my cat. That must be it.
  20. I have the same affect when I use my A/C. Mine is from a broken drain tube. I really have been meaning to fix that because shop-vac'ing the carpet on a daily basis is getting old quick. Maybe it will get cold here soon and I can be lazy. It's FL so I doubt it.
  21. Next time I'm in Dakkar I will be sure to nail some hottie (whom is not my wife) on the hood of the Roo Rally car and be sure to roll tape as well. So what if I have to get a divorce afterwords.....you only live once. Any fine females on the board wanna get their freak on..on the hood of a rally car. (mental note: turn my legacy into a rally car.)
  22. I changed the ATF in my 90 legacy about 2K mi ago but now I notce that the fluid smells burnt and it is shifting poorly. It slams into second and then hesitates into third. Anybody have an ideas?
