You have to actually be THIS tall to ride this ride. And not a puss. Torxx will be fine...
  2. Thanks Homie.IT is turning out to be a pain in the rump roast. But ************ it .It's what I've always wanted. I stated earlier that I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. That got thrown out the window for sure LOL.... I WIll have to cut part of the framerail outto get it low enough to deal with the front driveline... As soon as I get another motor in my DD I will jump back onto this beast. Unfortunately the only motor I have is my frankenmotor from Stella. So I will be rebuilding the existing DD EJ when I can , and It might just go in the truck for a while till I can find the time to swap them out... cheers
  3. Something else awesome.Super simple seperate heater core. That flows through like ours do:) cheers
  4. I KNOW...lames. However.I got to wheel with Bobby's wife and son. Tina and Chris were in great spirits because it really is better for him to be gone. He had a ton of pain continuously. That run raised 10g's for the family. They are a reputable business, but that only goes so far. Sad days when icons die. cheers
  5. Nice.I also have cut them off .Several of them. If'n you are not able to "whack them off" LOL You are able to cut close enough that you get right under the torx head of the bolt. Then the stub comes off, and you can take vice grips to the rest of the bolt. IIRC...Its been a few years since I have had to do it that way. cheers
  6. Trailer and tow strap ........
  7. I am not worried about speed.I don't need speed. Kids these days:grin: Naw, all I want is the torque curve.I am not talking down the $.3 I have a heavy foot, with less torque I am less dangerous. :-pAt least to parts... I have thought this out pretty well./At least I think I Have:lol: My style of driving , compounded by the power of 200ish HP, and lots of torque equals ************ered...:-p Same HP and lower torque equals better experience overall. I'll go fast later. When I finish the buggy. cheers
  8. The 4.3 swap is kinda dumb to me.You gain all this weight for a little bit more power(in comparison to MY swap)My engine is about 180-200hp, the 4.3 stock-ish is like 170 ish to 195 ish hp.But it weighs about 200ish pounds more than my EJ does.I am not to worried about the swap. I went wheeling yesterday with some new friends for some inspiration. And to memorialize a HUGE name in the Industry that is finally at rest.RIP Bobby Long I rode all day in this rig 42's!!!! cheers
  9. HaHa.Your a Grandpa! I'll stop in this next week for that stuff. cheers

The mechanics is always there., but really, ALot more traction.Have you ever offroaded a Subaru?Obviously not.i say that because there is an inherent style of driving that comes with offroading a Subaru.Of which it does not appear your gear, tire, comfort driving rump roast has experienced. LOL Anyone can drive with gears, and anyone can drive with horsepower. You have no idea what it takes to drive a Roo in tough spots needing both. The "heresay" part of it is that there is no fix. If you want something bad enough, you can make it happen. Which means hydro steering.IT CAN be done. So, why try to demonstratively disenvow a guys idea when there IS a solution to it. We were never blessed enough to have 50 bajillion companies make it easy for ANYONE to bolt ************ on and think they are a wheeler. "oh, you won't be able to steer. It will push." All facts if you find yourself being a *************** and not wanting to tackle the inherent problems. He is NOT a ***************, and therefore intowith and such, shall do what it takes to make what he wants a reality. I am here to simply remind him that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.SPECIFICALLY with a NON road vehicle. Which , in Alaska, (which I have personal experience driving in) is almost 75% winter wheeling. Just saying.I have had welded diffs in other rigs.I have driven rigs thsat have welded diffs, with steering accoutrements, that did fine. On top of the fact that he already stated that he was doing MOSTLY straight line bogging......not trail driving. I actually read the post , before I started in.Just sayin.... Hey Torxy, If'n ya want a hydro steering rack(utilized for rear steer in like an MDX, or something of that sort)I have o ethat I would GIVE you just to prove this ************in heeper wrong.) cheers

Heresay, If the steering is setup properly he won't even know it is there. cheers

I really can't remember anyone doing it. DO IT!!!!!! I would:grin: cheers
  13. Mine got moved by Photocrappit for some reason. Here is a semi recent ish one... cheers
  14. http://www.nw-wheelers.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=108 I'll be out there.Probably helping, defenitely riding along with a guy off of NWW.You should come out. cheers
  15. I may have to move the axle forward. After looking at clearance issues with the heads I might even HAVE to Clearance the frame for some exhaust studs... I am also wishing that I would have just gotten a Toyota motor:grin: Kidding, Just seeing who is paying attention. cheers
  16. Thats beyond classsy sweetitits.
  17. Well,I have no idea how the factory drivetrain fit , so I have nothing to have kept me down :)LOL If it would not have been a factory truck, I might have moved the front axle forward.Still may...:-p I seem to be able to fab************ now, so I can make a relocation kit pretty easily. Although working from home is mad slow. When I can use my lunch to cut ************ out ...It is awesome cheers
  18. OK, There was interferance as we saw above. The trans was hitting the tunnel, and the engine needed to be up off of the framerails. Time to cut this out so I can bring UP the whole shebang a skosch After cutting, and lifting up, cutting and lifting up, massaging areas etc.. It is barely high enough right? Starter is gonna be RIGHT next to the GO pedal.... So I moved the whole shebang in forward about 6 inches to get the height, and clearance for the shift fork. The starter will be into the firewall a couple of inches but thats it...WHEWW LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, BOYS AND GIRLS.THE WORLDS(MAYBE)FIRST SUBARU ENGInE INTO A TOYOTA TRUCK!!! Connected... Just about axactly the space I need for the header.( I put the block there to keep the engine "flat". JUST BARELY TIme to move onto the T-case and engine mounts. cheers:cool:
  19. Alright Boys. This is where we are at with this....After I show ya some creative nature that I had.I dunno If it is cool , or Awesome. But I am sure it is one of them ) Fuk it right? %Theclearance issues ensue You gotta look at that one for a second....
  20. You don't need TIG for anything like that. And clean is as simple as a flapdisc on your grinder. Hit up Scottinbellingham.(thats his screenname) cheers
  21. Yeah, You didna miss much !:-pJust me flailing around the shop like an idiot throwing tube around. It did work out pretty sweet I must say. I don't think I'll be able to come to the shop this weekend.I'll be down here puttin in time.I'd really like to get that drivetrain mounted! cheers
  22. Your still talking unibody.Your going to have to talk live axle for me to be able to understand you.My build man.Don't need ideas.Just spectators;) I am FULLY aware of what I could do.Hell, I know what I shouldn't do. The frame is a pretty integral part of the steering setup.ADjusting it just brings more variables. This is a long term project for me.I will build it until I cannot use a body panel on it.But it will still have that frame until the very end.Adjusting something now for a little more room is luidicrous, when I can flatbelly the truck instead by leaving the framerails alone, and suck my trans and T=case up. I'll take the flatbelly....Just sayin. I literally fabricate for a living.Auto stuff is a hobby, but am not afraid to jump down any rabbithole.I have a specific set of ideas that I am working towards. KISS I will be able to start looking at mounting the engine as soon as I get off my rump roast to do it.I have a 4 day weekend coming up, that is gonna be awesome ! I shall throw the engine in the engine bay and see exactly where it sits. Anyone know the natural inclination degree that the EJ motor needs to sit at? I can eyeball it to my other Subies, but degrees would be awesome! Things still left to do: mount bumpstops final weld additions assemble and mount front axle Weld v6 carrier install engine(build motor mounts) engine wiring build t=case crossmember install seats I know there is more... cheers
  23. :grin:Just say9n...
  24. I got the front shock mounts hard tacked in. Still need to add some gussets of a sort. We'll see how the engine fits nowzzz. cheers
  25. I do not think it is necessarily wider. But as it is I have to move the EJ series up above the framerails. And turbo in racing ids awesome,to much to worry about on a trail system....etc..... The framerals are lke 19" wide-ish... The EJ is 22"-ish
