It is already changing .... As I sit here and look at the horrible body mounts, and uneven hacking of the frame mounts , the disfigured, not all the way welded, defunct steering box mount... and ugly azz bumper... I am thinking tube .Lots , and lots Of tube. Still maintaining fenders, and a hood . Maybe even try to squeeze a grill back in there... ha d a friend cut some stuff out on his Plasma table. He welded up a base hanger for me, and I added a 2x2x1/4" mounting surface for some Tube. Then bought some 1.75" DOM. When I get back at her, It's gonna be epic. cheers

It's funny, He asked me if I was about to get him stuck.Or something like that. I was like. NO, You can do it ! LOL The problem was muddy, sloping, extravagently hanous mud.I THOUGHT he could climb that bank down further. And on a normal day( it could have been done. I was not the only one saying it was crazily SLOPPY up there.... And yes.It was My fault :)For not driving  I rode with Jesse everyone.I have never been a passenger in his car.I am totally solid with how Jessie drives...but All I remember about those few moments as a passenger was... Brat WRX Build
do not weld straighht to the UNIbody. The sheet meetal is not thick enough. You WILL neeed to fish plate EVERYTHING you attach. Just saying. If you are learning how to fabricate on this project , It may be better held onto for future use.Cut your teeth on something different. cheers

Ok, So it is progress, albeit codswalloping nerve racking at that. Please note that the tubing holding things together is not necessarily placed whee it will stay... No turning back now!!! Gotta see where she is gonna sit.ish.... Fish plating partially welded. One side almost done. T-casew ia almost lined up in it's stock position. But just a couple inches higher. Defenitely not super proud of my upside down welds, but you try it ! lol Gotta make those damn elusive motor mounts next. overall view I think thats all I have for now. cheers

Removing rear lateral link bolt/bushing/arm?
monstaru replied to idosubaru's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXBuy another knuckle, from a yard.Make them do the work.I promise,If you have a stuck bolt.It is WAY worth it. Then just cut yours off. Sounds like a harsh reality, but man am I telling you.I am a very resourceful guy when it comes to certain things. And I had to buy a new knuckle the last time I dealt with a rusted bolt. cheers

RX dual range awd are they just for the streets?
The RX D/R is perfectly capable of going to larger tires. It is Just as robust as the D/R's.BUT, has higher Low range gears. The Regular ol' D/R is 1.59 low.The RX is 1.19low. Withe rarity of these transmissions, I would not beat it.BUT, know folks who have. And it was fine. Lower gears help more than wheel speed. And considering we havta use wheel speed anyway, lower gears are preferred. Let me say that again.Lower gears are preferred. You will grow to hate this statement through your offroad Subaru journey.(because we are limited) You can rock it if it is your only option. But honestly the D/R is still fairly prolific. And those tires are not very big. LOL cheers

Ok so,I have a partially put together axle from needing to go and pick up a set of calipers so's i can measure the shims properly. A partially tubed subframe for my motor mounts. A cut up tunnel, and nowhere to go LOL I picked up some Super bright LED lights made by a company called Arsenal lighting. from DC Customs. Also got the twin stick boot I needed. Umm, picked up a badass beer sign. A hat, and Tshirt. umm, Whatelse.... I think that is it. Also I have drivelines now. That appear to have the properly drilled holes in the flanges!Bonus Hrrmmmm, I think maybe, that I Should technically be able to get back at her in a couple of days.Between my duties as an upstanding member of this community(ROFLMAO), and the need to fulfill my husbandly duties lately time has been sparce. Damnit. But I am continuously thinking about what I can do here , or there. The planning always takes the longest..... And when your continuously planning , spoob can get longwinded Once the motor mounts are in.I think I can move forward pretty quick. Just learning almost anything Toyota right in front of my eyes is very fun. And literally almost learning everything I know about cars, I owe to this Board. I helped my Dad change oil and spoob on his Chevy's.But besides some basic time with motor heads in high school, I doona have alot of experience. I pushed forward, and moved as fast as I could to get to this point in my life. I owe it to a damn NEED I have to build spoob.I love My vehicles very much while I have them. If they are offroad vehicles, I beat them to piss. If they are onroad vehicles,I drive them Like I stole them. And If they are a leasure vehicle I usually don't own them Sorry about the rant. I think that I should pick up a set of calipers tomorrow. Cheers
