  1. Can you do one where the guy is being crushed by the engine too?
  2. Lisle likes to buy tool designs. http://www.lislecorp.com/
  3. I have a 54" box that I am selling. Black with Stainless steel top. The top is actually for a KRL box and isn't quite the right one but it works great. Its a "Classic 78" by SnapOn. I need to get $2300 for it. Roughly 2-3 years old. Just like this only with the top on it. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=storage&item_ID=74163&group_ID=19507&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog
  4. I would possibly be interested in helping you fix the brat mechanically and maybe splitting the cost of the parts car. I am in Westminster (NW DENVER). PM me for my phone number and I will call you if you are interested. I am reasonably sure we could find a door at the pull a part yards.
  5. Probably M8x1.25 a pretty standard bolt on a Subaru. I assume you are talking 86/87 Brat without jumpseats?
  6. Awesome another from Colorado with a Brat. Im in Westminster and have a Turbo brat. Would love to meet up and meet your parts source too. I dont have a tan dash and finding one around here will be hard but getting one from the Pacific Northwest or midwest without a cracked dash might be possible.
  7. Nice find! Hope you will check in here once in a while and maybe pop over the mountains for a older subaru meet in the future.
  8. Idle air control valve hose not hooked completely to the intake tube? That hose is about 1" in diameter and goes from a thing near the throttle body and toward the passenger side of the car. It tucks down under the intake tube and can look hooked up when it isn't.
  9. Yup that is the one. Couldnt agree more on the $. I do it for a living and love using it and for me that is worth it.
  10. My Snap on 18V cordless 1/2" impact will take off stuff that 3 of my air guns will not. Unfortunately its also twice the size of a tool to lug around too but I love it at the junkyard.
  11. Absolutely amazing I think you need to come out to Colorado with it after you get all settled into the new house.
  12. So, I sold my converted Vanagon today to a couple in Phoenix. I will miss it. The final trip I took in it was pretty fun minus the last couple hours from Flagstaff to Phoenix down I-17 and the trip across town the next morning. (hot-a/c broke again) This trip was Denver to Phoenix. I took a mostly non freeway trip that my Garmin suggested and got to cover some country I had never seen before. Went to 4 corners and met a family that I got to show the van off to who were in their Eurovan camper. I then went to the South side of the grand canyon national park and took a peek and was rather amazed/amused. Very pretty and worth a trip if you never have gone. I got pulled over by one of Colorado's Nicest highway patrolmen and I mean that sincerely. Some great trips in it for sure. I put around 11,000 miles on it in 4 years which is really why I sold it; I just wasn't using it. WCSS in Oregon Montana to Yellowstone Big Bear California followed by Sacramento and then Home (blown HG trip still made it home) Utah Regional Rallycross at Winter Park a couple years ago. Carhenge (Nebraska) with the 3 guys from CCR. I failed multiple times at getting the A/C to work and am slightly sad about that. Was the only thing I just never got to work. I think the expansion valve was toast now but might not ever know. The new owners are going to do such great things with it and I am excited that they bought it. Good luck vanaroo, aka the "bangbus".
  13. Will be in Phoenix this weekend to deliver/sell my Vanagon. Anybody want a mini meet?
  14. Sounds like a fuel pump or filter to me. Id start with the filter especially if you have never replaced it.
  15. I am getting married July 5th near Ward, CO to Joy who some of you met at WCSS 7 and the more local crowd at various AWDpirates meets and such. Anybody is welcome provided of course that they don't dress up fancy or any of that crap. Will be short, sweet and to the point. Right around NOON. Would love to see you there. Location is: Brainerd Lake Rec Area, google map address to the actual lake inside the park of 1701 Brainard Lake Rd Ward CO 80481. It does cost $9 to get into this park. You can hike from the gate to the lake along the road to avoid at least some of the $9. I assume the gate is cash only as it is kind of remote. Hitchhike with a friend or something if you want to wait by the gate or something I am sure you can hitch a ride as its per car for the $9. We will also be doing a 14er on the day before (4th of July) if anybody is wanting to tag along you are welcome to. I will post more details on this later as we haven't picked the peak yet. Mods feel free to move my post but expect some welll.....lightning bolts. This will probably be the biggest old school Subaru meet we have had in Colorado in a while. I might even bring the Brat.
  16. I think the 95 with the roller rockers would be the most powerful as it still has dual port heads. But pretty much the same.
  17. Can I send a small paypal donation to the cause for spray paint? I want to buy 1 can and have it used on the Left side.
  18. Try taking the detent ball retainers out of the side of the trans one at a time and moving the shifter. They are these little plugs that have a 10MM head on them.
  19. Anybody can submit one they get filed by a moderator once written.
  20. What are you trying to do? We may have a work around to make it so you don't need the tool.
  21. Did you try the driveshaft yet? I bet you could have it swapped in under 30 minutes.
  22. It will from the time the car has its oxygen sensor fully warmed up. I fully agree with you the EFI is the way to go if you can do the wiring but the time factor is incredible here. Simple is going to win a lot of guys and gals votes here. You pop the hood on this brat and there's practically nothing except an engine block in there. I have been SERIOUSLY contemplating taking my EFI out of my 2.2 swapped wagon and making it carb! Thats gotta tell you something is right with this setup.
  23. I had a set made by CV of Ocala a long time ago and they were fine. I ended up splitting my trans case and making the 23 splines stubs fit the trans which was easy. Made the prospect of a road trip without bringing a spare custom axle along a much nicer car to take.
