  1. My wife really wants a Tribecca the 7 passenger version. Just wanted to see if I needed to know anything in particular about it. She mainly wants to have good legroom in all seats, epecially the third seat. I guess we will be going to test drive one. Just thought I would try to get the heads up on some information about them. Thanks.
  2. You would be surprised as to what parts you can find if you have a part number. Still some good old Subie parts to be found out there that are new.
  3. Do you have a uncracked LH tail light lens on the Brat? I really need one. Thanks, Richard.
  4. Sorry Mike I did not take that part out of any of the 4 Brats that I parted. Did not seem like a part that was needed. I guess I will have to take the pedal box and the braket out of the next one I part out.
  5. I agree with you Jon one of the fun things about finding a Subaru is the hunt for it. I just could not let it go after a challenging hunt for it. I keep finding them but, unfortunately they are never good enough to keep. Maybe that is the difference. I find them, strip them and, take them to the junk and then I have more room and the hunt begins again. But so far every old Subie I find is rotted out or wrecked. I guess if you want to keep up the hunt for them you have to clear space for something else. Otherwise you may end up with your own personal Subaru car lot! You will find one that will be a keeper eventually though. Hope you get it!
  6. If you got it why would you want to sell it? With as much trouble as you go to find these rust free great shape subies I would think you would never let them go. But isn't that your Brat on Ebay? Man all that effort to find it, have it shipped, then turn around and sell it? I don't know man, I could not do it after all that effort to get it. Anyway, good luck with the wagon.
  7. No you won't have any problems. It is pretty straight forward. I did it a while back on my 78 Brat. I was surprised how easy it went. So I can only imagine it will be even easier on a ea81 car. Good luck!
  8. This may be a long shot but could there be a problem with the coil?
  9. I have it all hooked up. Everything else works in the instrument cluster. Lights fuel, temp, Speedo, signals, everything. Just not the tach. It is not like these are easy to find. It took me a year and a half to find this one. I suppose if I find the patience to try again I might try and look it over again. If not I guess it will be just like before. No tach. That part kind of stinks:mad: Thanks for your help though.
  10. I took it to Paso Robles auto wrecking. It is right inside the gate to your right. Sorry but I had to get it out from in front of my house. It did not exactly look all that good having a stripped Brat sitting on a trailer in front of my house. At least that is until I drag my next victim home:lol:
  11. Looks kind of scary when you look at the way the shifter is bent. Makes you wonder how bad the damage really is to the drivetrain. No thanks:eek:
  12. Well, I tried doing what you said Todd but it just would not work. If I kept just bumping the wire from the coil and the one on the gagues together the tach would jump around but still not be consistent. But when I hooked the 2 together nothing! Maybe the tach is bad.
  13. Hey Mike, If you want the Brake parts off the Brat you had better get a hold of me soon. I will be getting rid of the Brat on Friday or Saturday. I will be home for a while on Friday. Got to take the wife to get her wisdom teeth pulled. Just thought I would let you know.
  14. I am glad you found them Todd. I think I was going to have to save the ones out of the Brat I am stripping for my Brat. I did not realize how bad they really are.
  15. I had this same problem on my 78 Brat. Or at least the owner before me did. They had put a big ceramic resistor on the headlight wire right before the fuse box. The fuse box was obviously damaged. I went to my local junk yard and got a replacement headlight switch and fuse box. That was over a year ago and the problem has never come back. So that is where I would start.
  16. Todd, I will let you know as soon as I get the strut mounts out. I might not be able to do that until Friday when I have the day off. I will get you a price then. Thanks, Richard.
  17. Everything works but the tach. Obviously 78 Brats did not come with a tach. So I need to know what do I need to hook up to make the tach work?
  18. Man, that interior looks great! Too bad the rest of it is completely rotted out! If you want a real good seat that might be your best bet Todd.
  19. Well Todd The drivers door I am keeping for my Brat.I have the dome light cover. I think I have 2 extras actually. And I have the seat bottom. It is blue and it is not in the greatest of shape. The seat is torn and it looks like some of the foam is gone. I would have to check it further to see how the springs are. It feels good though. Too bad you don't need a passengers seat. I have a brown one that is in great condition. I keep saving these parts hoping that somebody will need some. I can't just see letting these parts go to waste. Also, Thanks Jon for the info. I will have to contact them about the tail light. I will get a box for that push bar too!
  20. Little high on the price but I have been looking for a year and a half for one and no luck. I can find unbroken RH ones but never LH ones. Just like finding a lower front valance for a GL Brat. No problem finding a extra for a DL but not the GL. It seems like things like that always happen you know. Shoot me his info Jon and I will contact him about it. Thanks, Richard.
  21. Yeah Jon, I do. Now I have two extras. Sorry I have been real lazy about getting that taken care of. All the free boxes around here got all destroyed in last weeks rain storms. I really need to find a box. The Brat parts are really starting to pile up around here. You would not happen to know where I can find a unbroken LH tail light lens for my Brat would you? If I can not find a box I may just strap it to a pallet and have it shipped that way.
  22. Yeah Mike you had better come quick. I stripped it today of what I wanted and what I thought might be needed possibly by other members.. It has all the brake stuff on it. I did not touch any of it. The rotors are quite rusty. The Brat had not moved since 1997. Let me know. I think it will only be here for another day and it is off to the junk.
