  1. You keep saying 'shorter wheel base' but in all your lame photochops the front wheels are moved forward.... thats lengthening your wheel base. *edit* Morgan's biting his tounge.
  2. Engine + computer + wireharness. Even if it's an XT4 NA I wouldnt bother with a motor swap. EA82 MPFI will have plenty of power to move a lifted XT body and upto 30" tires.
  3. Put the peer pressure on them; put on your belt as an example to all of them. If anyone gives you crap you can inform them that they will die and you will live; living is cooler than dieing.
  4. Safer from what? The stock bleeder is shut and holding the pressure. If it gets ripped off (which it never did) then it's not a big deal. They come in a pack of two so I put them both on the rear; then the other two I bought fit directly into the front calipers. Yes, you could just have one custom universal speed bleeder and use it at all 4 corners. Note that they come in a pack of two. That's what I ment by having 'a set for all your vehicles'. It would appear they do nto support older Subarus well or didnt research them well. Maybe if you found some other make/model that uses the same caliper (or slave cylinder) you could crossreference and find a SB that works. I didnt research if it would fit turbo calipers as I didn't have any. Worst case you have to use the custom made hose + SB setup. http://www.speedbleeder.com/automobile_applications.htm#Subaru
  5. seat belts 24/7; on and off the road. I can still lean out the window fine with it on. It takes .5 seconds to undo or latch it.
  6. Cool clips. Top Seceret mods usually end up beeing Bull Sheit mods; especilay when it comes to horsepower:rolleyes:
  7. Seen a couple posted on the forums over the years. Cant recall names.
  8. Upgraded from Garage Queen to Trailer Queen; time to make it a Trail Slut.
  9. I ran both lines to a T then to a breather filter. 5/8" OD on the breather. $10 at Checkers/Shucks; prolly at most other parts stores. Oh then I plugged the PCV hole in the intake manifold with a bolt.
  10. Gotta spend the money to go fast! mid 200s for HP? This one is claiming 400+... He didnt say the 'world of Subaru beyond here' doesnt have a 600hp engine; he said you dont have a 600hp Subaru engine. :-p
  11. Glad you liked it Never thought of moving it around; hell you could just buy one set for all your vehicles. Tew brains r betar than 1
  12. First thing your gonna upgrade is your career to afford all that. Skip the stupid golf cart and lawn mower; youll get done with the uber'ru much faster. Be sure to post some pics when you get done
  13. tip: Don't undo your brake lines from the calipers. I use a big block of wood and set the calipers on them under the vehicle still attached to the lines. Then you don't have to bleed your brakes when you are done

    ORV poll

Voted a couple days ago. Stupid bias polls
  15. I removed the hubs; if they arent on then you cant damage them. Just a couple bolts and its off.
  16. Need a big chisel and 4+lb hammer. Pound from the inside out. That middle spacer (inbetween your bearings) moves around inside; so you move it to the side, hammer on the inner race of the outside bearing, move it again, hammer on the other side, repeat and work it out. Really need a big vice mounted solid to a bench. So you can secure the knuckle properly and really hammer on it. I couldnt do it in my garage; had to go over to Arch's and use his shop with bigger vise and hammers
  17. Not sure who or what you are refering to
  18. After properly bleeding; my pedal was rock hard using stock softlines up front and 2' long softlines in the rear (on each side). I know some ppl said my pedal would be spongey or poor response with so much softline; but that didnt turn out to be true. Despite the soft rubber outer shield; they have very rigid cores. If you have a spongey pedal there are some steps to take to improve pedal response. rear drums are manualy adjusted; out of adjustment and your pedal will be slow to enguage. soft lines might be worn out; OEM replacements work great flush and properly bleed hydrolic system (cross directional pattern: right rear, front left, left rear, front right)
  19. Yep, open even in the snow! There are some times it is closed. For instance some hunting seasons and I think some seasonal closings. Check out the http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/ohv/closures.html listing before ya go.
  20. Good news; glad he came through.
  21. Coverd many times before. Engines are as reliable as you make them.
  22. thanks for the heads up on this land use issue. hope it doesnt get tossed in off topic like my land use posts did :-p
  23. I was happy with just upgrading to rear discs. New pads and rotors + a good bleeding does wonders if you got the rear discs.
