  1. AH okay that diagram clears it up a bit. Thanks for the drawing. Point still being; if it runs okay why rebuild from the block up?
  2. Yeah it looks like a great snow runner! 26"s ?? I thought we were discussing how to fit 30"s a while back
  3. I never saw a fuel filter down there on my '88 GL Only one I have is up under the bonnet by the wiper motor..... which I should prolly change, thanks for the reminder
  4. You said it runs okay; why are you rebuilding it? I say reroute the PCV system and drive on. Then you wont be foul'n up plugs and coating your intake mani / head intake passages.
  5. That is one awsome wagon Mick!! I think the rims are trick. That dark red with gold is really hot. I love the gold on red with the new Subarus too; it works well together. What size tires are those?
  6. Please do! While my current setup 'works' its not the best. I wish teh squirters actualy hit the windshield first and not just nail the wipers and splatter everywhere.
  7. Wheeeee.... fun in the snow Wish we had that much snow here around the cities this year. Nobody made the second hill climb? Looked like there were a few other options and lines to try
  8. Hah well done Next time take the extra few minutes to pop in that rear DOJ!
  9. Did you end up firguring this out? I'm curiouse
  10. No problem; maybe put it in your signature so its always there Okay it should be the SPFI engine even though its the DL. Real easy to tell; pop the hood and look. Big huge air cleaner on top? Carb. Rubber snrokel that goes over to the air box? SPFI. Fuel pump should be under the car, behind the passangers side seat. Look under just before your rear, right tire (passanger side) up by the main crossmember. Should see a triangular shaped metal plate extending from main crossmember. Fuel pump is straped to the top of it. In it's current position its prone to getting hit by lots of debri, sand, mud, water, etc etc.... wouldnt supprise me if a wire rotted off there or something hit it and jared a wire loose. Take it easy pulling her off; gonna be rusty back there I bet
  11. Its not JUST a 4WD Justy however Prolly one of the most tricked out Justys in existance from what I've heard Well done WJM !_!
  12. Don't forget where its shooting that lovely substances after passing through the PCV valve
  13. Tough to say. Ultra Black IS fuel / oil resistant. The word that worries me there is 'resistant'. A machine shop did my cam cases last time; can't comment on what they used. How about some of that stuff WJM was talking about.... that fancy Fuji bond ? http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29931 There are some other products to consider in that thread. Good luck
  14. Hah ya I woulda just swaped pullies on the alternator and spaced it out properly =P Although his setup is fully custom!
  15. Check the tie rods between your steering rack and your knuckles. Make sure wheel lug nuts are secure.
  16. That's between a man and his wallet
  17. http://www.ausubaru.com/bybbbq2004/pages/100_2953_JPG.htm http://www.ausubaru.com/bybbbq2004/pages/100_2954_JPG.htm http://www.ausubaru.com/bybbbq2004/pages/100_2955_JPG.htm Was this done to put on an XT6 alternator? Insead of swaping pullies on the ALT he swapped pullies at the crank? I'm really confused here.... just saw the images and thought I would share BTW when is the USMB BBQ ? The BYB BBQ looked like a blast!
  18. Soooooooooooooooo............. how did day TWO go ?
  19. Who cares what they came on; just grab some and rage it
  20. I've only seen two Subarus that were beyond salvation from rust. Both were Brats rotted out to the point where they were unsafe. Floor boards gone, subframes almost gone, only thing holding the unibody together was the drive train. My '88 GL wagon is quite rusty. It's still a safe vehicle. All the subframes and suspension are solid. The seats are secure. The brakes work great. Takes A LOT of rust over many years of neglecte before they are unsafe. As to the holes there. Make sure they are holes in just the thin skin sheet metal. The places where your subframes and suspension mounts are reinforced. If those are still solid then you are fine.
  21. Then I dunno what designates which model had them. I spose just find one's that have them! Easy to spot; if you dont see them sticking out of the hood then they are there on the drain tray.

    Dual Fans?

Might just have to go with a different fan. They make really low profile ones. Have you looked at the EA82 electric fans? I *think* they are little more 'slim' than the EA81 electric fans. Might just be that little difference you need?
