Turbo windshield wiper squirters I'll start with some boring background. Ruined a hood on my GL wagon. Grabed a hood from a GL turbo wagon. Didnt realized till I got home that the turbo hood was not equiped with squirters... not even holes to put them in. Went to another junkyard and found another GL turbo wagon. Looked at the squirter setup there and they are mounted to the plastic drain tray there between the windshield and hood. I pulled the squirters, hoeses, Y splitter and called it a day. Went to install them at home and much to my supprise I had the holes for the turbo squirters in my drain tray! Routed the hoses from the water pump to the squirters. Screwed in the squrters and now I'm back in action! How is this an offroad upgrade you are asking now right? Take a look at your drain tray when you get home. Look for 2 tiny holes there behind the little plastic dam and the lip of the hood. If you have them then you can route in 2 MORE squirters! Anyone who's been on some seriouse trails will know you get junk on your windshield all the time. Good squirters and wipers are key to good visibility on the trail. Heres the catch... if you dont have the turbo style squirters then you have to drill a single hole about 5/8" ID. Look up on the right (passanger side) corner of your engine bay. There should be a good sized plastic canister with vacume tubes. There in the corner on the fire wall is a small 1" rubber gromet. Pop that out. Now drill a hole in the drain tray there just above it. Now you can route your hoses safely from the engine bay upto the squirters. Trust me going any other way is just going to pinch the hoses and make for a sloppy install. Kinda long winded for this wussy of an upgrade but its just a little trick I thought I'd share. SUPER easy offroad upgrade for anyone to do. Enjoy!

Most of the ones I seen had a crappy dashboard / guages and a 2WD or Single Range 4WD 4AT. I think the 86-89 GL, GL-10, etc. are way cooler. Now just last weekend I saw a Loyale in the junkyard. It had the GL package dashboard / guages. Had a single range 5MT also. Looked a 100 times better and more functionable. I'd pimp one of those around for sure Loyales have the fully revised EA82 SPFI also. That's a big plus in my book. A Loyale with less than 100,000 miles on it would last you a long time if taken good care of. Just remember all Subarus are cool, even the Loyales and Justys -
Aesthetic Opinions Please....

They look better with a lift and MTs That Shark mobile is kinda cool..... except for the silly spoiler on the tailgate :-p -
Last time I pulled belts from the junkyard to get to the timing pullies.... took 2 hours. Was not just the covers though. Supid AC was all in the way. With the AC / Alternator configuration I had to pull the Alternator also. The AC and ALT were swaped compared to how it's setup on my EA82. Also the lame clutch fan had to come off with that silly excuse for a 'fan shourd' thats on there. Last time I did timing belts on my GL wagon. 30 minutes out in the col-de-sac with minimal tools. Really helps having no covers, no AC, no clutch fan, and no fan shroud. Didn't even have to remove the radiator though my back would have preferd I pulled the radiator... oi was it sore later.

I don't think those are the exact ones he runs. Those have 4" of backspacing; no way I can fit anything larger than 10.5" wide with that much backspacing. http://www.subarubrat.com/tiresandwheels.htm He says here they are 15"x10" but doesnt note the backspacing. Also the price is different. That part # sells for $41.xx each and he notes they were $35 each. Stil searching around Summit racing's site. Looking under the "US Wheel" section. Here's some I found: Really hard finding anything 3 1/2 or less backspacing. All I found with 3 or 2 in. of backspacing were not in 6x5.5" bolt pattern. 5x5.5" pattern would open the flood gate on < 3" backspaced rims. 15 in. x 8 in., 6 x 5 1/2 in. bolt circle, 3 1/4 in. backspacing, polished Series 289 wheel http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=partdetail.asp&part=AEW%2D0289%2D5866&N=110&Ntk=KeywordSearch&Ntt=2+in%2E+Backspace Series 055, 15 in. x 10 in., 6 x 5.5 in. Those pics of Reiters Pit piss me off but not because they were Subarus..... because some worthless jerks are leaving trashed cars there. Thats about the fastest way to get your offroad trails taken away.

WOOHOO looks like a great time to be had during the winter. Poor little wagon laging behind though -
Yeah I got all the covers off. That was the easy part. Got the 'satelites' loose. All I REALLY want is just the steering wheel. Can't I just get the wheel w/o getting the whole colum out?

Here's a video clip that you can hear my exhuast pretty well in http://www.mnchopshop.org/images/usmb/numbchux/Poopenwagen_no-problem.AVI Setup: EA82 SPFI engine EA81 "Y pipe" Custom mid pipe 2" ID Thunderbolt glasspack; dumps out right at the rear main crossmember. To make the EA81 Y pipe fit on the EA82 I had to use the silly EA81 emissions spacers between the cylinder head and the exhuast headers. I cut off the tubes coming out of the spacers, hammerd them flat, and Archemitis welded them shut. Using the spacers ensures the cat clears your engine crossmember. ======== I can host your video clip. PM me and we'll work out the logistics. -
EA81 then SPFI conversion

I was trying to pull an XT6 steering wheel lastnight so I could try and swap it onto my GL wagon. I poped off the horn button and looked behind the metal plate there. No access to the main nut. I can't get to the screws on the back of the steering wheel cover. No key to unlock the ignition switch so I can move the wheel around. How does this darn thing come off?

Archemmitis was running something similar on his H6 hatchback. Worked good really... too good! He had to dump it a few times a week LOL. Please do report back on how it works for you.
