  1. That's not the point. The point is lets not jump to conclusions like head gaskets. Lets get some more info and then make a more educated diagnosis.
  2. Awsome, MOA is cool. Kinda big however so lets nail down a specific location. North side main entrance is no good. East and West sides have big parking ramps. Want to meet on the roof of East side parking ramp? Prolly the easiest to get too since you wont have to deviate from the main road right off the interstate. Or did you guys have something else in mind ?
  3. Enough with the headgasket guesses. Lets rule out some other things first guys. I dont think he's given nearly enough info to diagnose a headgasket over the internet. Lets not scare the guy
  4. I pulled off the pump and the lines down to the main crossmember. That's it.
  5. Hummer's have a unimog axle setup and really dont have a lot of travel / articulation. Glenn is on the money. Way more travel / articulation out of leafs with solid axles vs. our wussy independent suspension. Even if you increased the travel dramaticly the DOJs and CVs only articulate sofar before they eat themselves. As for parts I'd use what you have available. See what local junkyards have. Get on your local 4WD message boards and look for guys getting rid of their axles when they upgrade. Should find some scream'n deals. I'm in the middle of aquiring solid axle upgrade parts
  6. Parting out an XT6 here. Wondering if the rear axles are any different or better. Are they wheely poping power? Thx !_!
  7. One key part of that cooling system I didnt see on your list.... Radiator. How old is it? What condition is it in? Also track down that noise as it sounds like a piece of this puzzle. Good luck!
  8. Considering how easy it is to convert your hubs to a 6x5.5" bolt pattern and increase your rim selection. Those who dont want to redrill hubs can opt to redrill the rims themsevles to fit onto the Subaru hub. Both of these techniques are far cheaper than wheel adapters. I think this is why wheel adapters havent really taken off here on the USMB.
  9. I really looked at your sketch.... it looks like a Ford GT40. There are 3 angles to compare too. Take no offense as there is nothing wrong with how the GT40 looks or performs. I'm not the only one in this thread making comparissons :-p
  10. Could try a 195 degree thermostat. This is also why you see duders with those radiator bras.... or cardboard =P I just wear mechanics gloves while driving. Not really that warm but just so you arent holding onto cold wheel and shifter. Also make sure your air circulation vent is closed to the outside air.
  11. Can't seem to track them down... their site is hard to navigate
  12. The people who say they actually want one should start calling around and finding out. Untill then its a pipe dream
  13. Where are you guys meeting in Minneapolis? I'd like to shake some hands and kick some tires !_!
  14. Just looked at your detailed concept drawings.... sorry someone already made this car; and its a FORD http://www.motortrend.com/future/concepts/112_0201_gt40/
  15. They arent too bad to lift.... with the proper grip. Lifting them up out of an engine bay is way different than getting down low, right up against it, and holding it in your 'power zone' utilizing your legs to lift. In the engine bay you guys are goingto be using your lower backs half bent over the fenders. Get a 1 ton pulley, clevis, and save your back Oh had another thought. Could also drop the main crossmembers from the unibody. Then jack the car way up and drag it out. Drop it down onto a heavy blanket or thick cardboard. Then you can slide it out. Or tie on a chain/strap and pull it out.
  16. cooalnt lines to and from turbo maybe. just my guesstimate
  17. If this isnt already an MPFI engine then you'll need a lot more than heads to accomplish this task OR are you just putting turbo heads on an NA MPFI? I'm not quite sure by your post. What engine are you wanting to mod here?
  18. GL has more cool stuff to keep you busy  88 GL (and Loyale) will have the fuel injected 1.8L engine. 85 GL should have a carb on it. That's going to be the biggest difference in engines.
