  1. 2 words: SPEED BLEEDERS Here is my USRM article on brake bleeding. Lemme know if it works good for you or if needs something. It was geared more twoards the EA82 platform but the concept is the same for any year/make/model. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/article.php?a=60 Good luck.
  2. Nay, I have no good pictographer I'ts pretty clearly explained.
  3. Can I still get a point of contact for Subaru Heaven ????
  4. 5/8" hose; any parts store should have some for you. Get some GOOD hose clamps. Those wussy spring clamps currently on there are not upto the task after 20 years =P I routed mine like this: Left head into left side of T splitter. Right head into right side of T splitter. Hose from back of T splitter to breather filter. Pulled out PCV valve. Put in a bolt in its place to seal intake manifold. Oh forgot about the hole now open in your air intake snorkel there behind the Throttle Body. Again stuck a bolt in the hole and put a good hose clamp on it. Now all that nasty, oily, mayonaise junk vents out to the breather filter... instead of shooting down my intake manifold and into my combustion chambers!
  5. that's why... he was the only one doing it. I dont have a fancy camcorder of any sorts to shoot film of me offroading. :-\ The only stills you see on here of me were taken by others that I was able to get images from.
  6. Reg states no by-pass or cut-outs allowed at time of inspecton. Rules upon rules
  7. What if they were reproduced and % of proceed went to you for royalties?
  8. Herm is it rust-welded? Or was there something else physicly limiting the proccess?
  9. 1988 GL EA82 SPFI: 145,000 and I blew a head. Over 200,000 now on the chassis. 1991 Legacy L EJ22: 200,000 and I gave it to a friend. He snapped the timing belt and let the city take it away. Guess I got rid of it just in time :-p
  10. if the FSM says you can ajdust it then it should also tell you how
  11. I really dunno how long the catalyst in side there is good for. What your mechanic is refering to is the second chamber in your exhuast. I belive its called a resinator? The first big chamber is all one piece from your headers upto the resinator. This is yoru "Y" pipe as we all call it. Its your main catalyltic converter and should be fine. They are really tough buggers. The headers and pipes all around the "cat" will rust away before the actuall cat does. Replacing the resinator should be cheaper and easier than the cat. It unbolts from the Y pipe assembly as its own part. A lot of times they commonly refered to this as your 'mid pipe'. It's the resinator and a long length of pipe back to your muffler. I hope this clarifies your exhaust system and you can make a more informed decision on the work you want done.
  12. Sorry you couldnt make it Tcat. Lots of oil changed. One guy put on a up-pipe. I put on my 'new' hood, skid plate and wipre arm. Jeff has one sweet little "toy barn" as he put it. Was a great event.
  13. Glad everyone made it. Wish I coulda met yall but there was not enough info here to meet anyone. Looking forward to the pics and stories.
  14. Those prices are silly. What do they think they have there? There aint gold or platinum in those parts Here is what I would pay at my local yard. DRIVE SHAFT FRT $13.00 DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER, CAR $26.00 DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER, TRUCK $46.00 ENGINE ASSEMBLY $150.00 (does not inlcude starter, MAF, or alternator) AXLE SHAFT FWD (CORE) $10.00 The other junkyard I go to is stricly a haggeling process. You bring in what you pulled and let the games begin! They offer, you counter, they counter, you counter, we settle, and its a done deal
  15. You could prolly throw half sand in there and that tranny would be okay Run it and find out. If it shifts poorly or just 'feels' bad to you, drain it and put in the right stuff.
  16. Anyone have a point of contact for Subaru Heaven junkyard? Can't seem to find them online or in the phone book. I know someone has seen it or maybe even been there? Thanks!
  17. Enough details are in the post here to get directions and show up
  18. $350, now thats a good Subaru price I'd go look at it for sure. If you do swap motors lemme know; I'd like them EA71 pistons
  19. You could try the dizzy swap. Get the dizzy out of a 2WD Loyale OR an 88+ 2WD GL (88+ ensure's its SPFI just like your Loyale) Atleast then you'd have your spare 4WD one if your swaped one ever fails Ask in here about donations: Community Chest: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=25
  20. No banjo bolt fittings. They have female fittings at each end of the softline. ID is 3/16" WJM has the hook up on the stainless steel bolt-on softlines but any brake warehouse/shop can hook you up too. I had custom softlines made at a local brake shop.
  21. shoulda kept that old dual range; you can adapt it into your Legacy with the proper parts
  22. Pretty good info there. The man loves scissor jacks
