  1. Welcome to the board. You're right in the heart of USMB central. Introduce yourself to the subie community.
  2. If it really is that nice, buy it back from the insurance company and either part it out, or use the good parts to build a new one from a straight body. Sorry about your loss.
  3. Heck Mick, that's just cosmetics. Come up here and see some real rust.
  4. Not that I recommend it, but Subaru's answer to the faulty headgasket is a bottle of stopleak you add to your coolant. You might give it a try before you get in over your head with a h/g replacement - not doubting your wrenching skills; it can be pretty messy, though.
  5. Man, that looks like it was a blast. Glad you guys had fun. (And envious, too.)
  6. The Chevron additive does a good job of cleaning the injectors.
  7. Eric, for as many friends as you have on the board, there shouldn´t be a day that goes by that you don´t feel the love.
  8. I haven´t dealt with them. I´ve only heard good things. If you´ve had a bad experience, shoot me a PM; I´d like to know.
  9. Even though I won´t be able to make it down this year, I´m in for one. Send it back with snowman.
  10. Hey to Kelly. Safe travels back to Haines.
  11. Looking for someone with English teaching credentials - we're in a panic - position available for the remainder of the year (and a good chance to get hired back full time next year). Pay is in the mid 30's with medical and retirement bennies. (Bennies aren't available this year, but if you get rehired, they go into effect in August). - And no. It's not me who got fired.
  12. Suck him into a poker game, Zap. Kelly's a rube at poker.
  13. Give a ring if you're headed up this way - we'll send out a call for a meet and greet.
  14. Hey, welcome to the board. Where are you on the Kenai?
  15. Prince George is about the last place for Subbie parts along the way, until you hit the Yukon.
  16. I believe there are a couple of Cannucks signed up also.
  17. Good idea, Ed. I'll have to give it a spin.
  18. One word = SKA. PM snowman for details.
  19. I assume you're talking about the door guard "ding strip". Often they are coated with a clear film of plastic to prevent oxidation.
  20. The SVX is notably bad on transmissions and brakes. Take a tour through the svx website for a bit and see forums on their specific problems. It's a good website with a lot of the same characters there as you may have seen here.
  21. Bratsrus1 can build you one if you can't find one.
  22. That's demolition derby you're talking about?
  23. I suggest you repost this in the New Generation forum for better results. Then, use the search function to see what Zap did with his suspension, because it sure turned out nice.
