Brad, I'd look at using some penetrating lube overnight, pounding them from the reverse side, and heating it before you try to drill them. You'll snap a dozen bits trying to drill them out.

Mick makes some fine aftermarket decals and can make pretty much whatever you want. Ed Dahl makes a full set of decals for both gen 1 and gen 2 Brats. His are about as oem as a guy could ask for.
