  1. Happy birthday to him. Have fun with the terrible twos
  2. in my OPINION you are better off with a little crack there than gluing it shut. It will have to crack open when the airbag deploys.. this just makes it easier to tear out if the time ever comes.
  3. Since chains sink into the packed snow.... I think having them on if they fit in packed snow like we had yesterday in portland would work.... we had 8 tires chained out of 18 on our truck yesterday... handled VERY well. My baja with just the stock bridgestone tires did ok when I babied it. My owners manual says not to use chains... I really should crawl under there and see how much room there is... but I think I will just get some steelies and studless tires next year. Today I managed to get up to 40MPH with chains on the truck today per instructor/testor request Since it was thawing out... we took em off when we got back to the testing range
  4. I second the trip permit.... if I recall I got one for my 98 impreza when all I had for it was a certificate of salvage. Drove it to reno and back like that (with it added on my insurance too of course!)
  5. I would guess either check your lug nuts tightness or look INSIDE the rim for crud that settled there and dried when the car thawed
  6. Easy route (that I took on my 86 GL-10...) Keep the stock digidash.... add on an aftermarket autometer analog temp guage... NEVER trust an 85-86 temp guage!
  7. since its not rusty... engines are easy to get... I say get it if you are willing to take on the project. Lifts are NOT readily available... but arent TOO hard to build if you have some metal experience.
  8. No.... not full service... the signs say mini-serve. Basically they pump your gas and thats it. MAYBE if you are lucky they will clean A window... but VERY rarely.
  9. RossinID or something like that????
  10. pretty much as fast as the car will go (reasonably and legally of course) I've gone 60 or so in 4WD hi and had the tach up pretty high in 4Lo 5th gear Of course this was on gravel... dont do it on pavement.
  11. That is a huge course... are they at an airport or something?
  12. Its hard to remember... but I think I got 31 MPG in my 98 impreza L 4EAT with a 2.2 going to and from Reno..... average speed was between 65 and 95
  13. Wow... flashback... I had those pictures submitted by the owner (I think) way back in like 1999 or so.... back when I was in high school and had a geocities page
  14. 1 exception... remember my silver brat??? It was from Tillamook / Netarts Oregon
  15. Turbo SEDAN??? i thought they were only turbo coupes, wagons and brats????
  16. Easy to remove... I took mine out in like 5 minutes. Had a big ol CB up there back when I had the car. Ran the wires in the dash (behind the glove box) and up the clock hole to the back of the CB which was screwed straight down (the bracket that is) to the top of the dash. If you have the back of the CB where the connectors come out poking into the clock hole it lets you scoot the CB farther back onto the dash and away from you.
  17. I second this.... STi or WRX cannon ball run hatch
  18. Gl should have intermitent. GL-10 should have intermitent with adjuster. my 87 GL-10 turbowagon had a little adjuster collar you could turn. Maybe find one from a GL-10 sedan?? I do recall there being a little black box under the dash you had to grab.
  19. Did you replace the white rally sedan with a blue rally wagon Ed???
  20. Sweet.... what are the clearances now (diff, rockers, etc)
  21. my gl with 321K ate front tires like crazy.... turns out the suspension bushings were toast. When I watched them pull it into the tire shop I could see the suspension going forward and back when they engaged the clutch.
  22. if I recall correctly my 86 GL-10's digidash worked in forward AND reverse and had the cool MPH/KPH conversion button.
  23. As far as the durablity of the car its hard to beat. a 5 speed and 2.2 liter is about as tough as you can get.
