I need to know if anyone has used a 97 or newer Auto AWD tranny in an older gen Legacy....? I have a 91 Legacy Sedan with an AWD Auto in it.....It has a bad tranny........ I also have a 97 Legacy Wagon AWD Auto tranny.......with only 85,000 miles on it..... I want to stuff it in the 91, but Dealer says it won't work....??????? Only issue I see it having, is wires not being the same from year to year....???? I already have the 97 motor in the 91 Car.....? so tranny will bolt right up to it... Any info is greatly apreciated...... Thanks, John in Eugene.........

ok, So the next question .... What do you folks think this would be worth on the Market.....? I saw a Warn equivelent for a Full size rig that was sold for $1600.00 :drool: what do you think....? John.......

Yes Eric, this was truely Group effort...... This First one was done in basically 24 group hrs.... if you add all individual Man hrs involved , you would end up around 100 hrs + give or take a few mins.... Now the Real Trick is to Duplicate it again...... Later, John

Ok, so it still needs Paint...... But otherwise, Done..... It got a Winch in the Bumper like Old Skool...... Will accept up to a 4700 lb Warn no problem Also got 6 inch off-Road Lights, and a 3/16 6061 Alum skid Plate attached to Bumper..... Came out looking very Sweet on a car with only slightly over 1000 road miles on the odometer...... We will be making a rear Bumper to match the front as soon as time allows... Well....We got it Done today.... Looks Very AWESOME....... We mounted a Warn Winch inside the Bumper, and 6 inch Light's on it too..... I can stuff up to a 4700 lb Warn in this bumper with no Issues...... We also installed a 3/16 thick Alum skid plate under the car that attaches to the bottom of the bumper and protects the entire motor area... I need to verify mounting styly for the 00-04 Outbacks, but I am pretty sure this will bolt right up to one exactly as We did it to the 04 BAJA...... Hey all...... Yes this Bumper is indeed Sweet.... Came out looking very good.....When He got here in the morning, we were going to just do a Pre-Runner styly A-Bar over the stock bumper.....But then................. We kept taking Bumper trim off, and suddenly the bumper was gone, so we decided to try for a true Bumper... It will be Completely Done this afternoon We are adding a Winch,Lights, and Skid Plate underneith....... Thanks Eric for posting pics..... I'll have completed Pics online tonite I hope...... Hey All here is the Completely New Baja Bumper we built over the weekend....... it gave aproxamately 6 inches better aproach angle over a stock Bumper..... it's not quite Done completely yet, we are hopefully going to finish today..... I am fairly sure this Bumper can be built and will fit All 02-04 Vehicles......Possibly more.....??? This will be a sweet upgrade for anyone who wants to play in the woods... Well, without saying names, yet....... We did an entire new Front Bumper for an 04 BAJA Yesterday.......... Came out Looking Very Good and Giving far better aproach angle..... We will be looking at Building a complete set of Tube Bumpers, and/or a Pre-Runner Styly front Bumper......We will also Be looking at Roll-Bars and A Light Bar for the RoofLine...... Morning, Glenn.... Your Yellow to harness is for Tach, black I believe helps Operate the fuel cutoff solinoid I told you about over above the hood release lever inside the car...? I am sure there are other things they help to, but don't have book in Face, and Too early to remember.... Going to bring that Bad Boy out for the WCSS 6 Show...? Well, if you atemp to run 6 inches of lift with the t-case, you'll have to either cut into the car to accomodate it , or or have it hanging so low under the car that it doesn't make sense to have it...... With 8 inches, you keep the t-case under the car, and it is high enough to stay out of harms way....... There are many mods involved in these swaps, and Just for the record, Rob Owner of Lil'Mule/Un-Hatched did the first one, and helped me with mine...... I did a few things Differently than he did , and for overall durability, think this set up works very well......And uses stock bolt on suspension parts...... Well, if you are trying to Plug a Standard Carbed motor into the car that was A turbo Injected Motor, The Computer won't be Doing much..... there are Several things You need to re-Wire in order for it to run......Also, You will need to invest in a Set of Mechanical Guages......as The Dash will be Mostly Useless....... Well, after the front Bearing issue, HE got with-in 180 miles of home and The Upper Radiator hose blew a 6 inch gash in it.....He called me, I instructed him to Wrap it in Duct-tape, and Drive it to the next town with rad cap on but not pressurized.......Got it another 10 miles or so to a rest area, and Ignition Switch decided to give him random Issues with starting......?????? Got all that figured out, and limped it the last 60 miles into Yuma on a Duct-taped hose and jerry-rigged ignition switch...... I told him that now with all the Little quirks and bugs out of it, he should have many wonderful days of Carefree Wheeling down there in the Desert and Rock Country...... He had me post this due to the fact that his Computer will not sign in right now, I am sure he will get on and Post more as soon as he can...... Later for now, John and Crew in Oregon......
