Hey all.... I am going to Yuma Arizona Monday to pick Jarods wagon up..... I will be traveling back to Oregon by way of Hwy 95 to I-15 through Arizona, and then up I-15 to Salt Lake City to Meet Sweet82 Then up I-15 to I-84 Into Boise Idaho to Hook up with Ross.... What I am wondering is, are there any other Board Members near or along that route to contact in the event of breakdown or other Road Emergency...????? On the Passenger side Strut Tower on the front side of the tower there is a funny looking square-ish looking metal box with 5 red wires plugged into it.....One is larger than the other 4. It will be the power wire in, the other 4 are resisted power out to the injectors.... Check to see if you are getting power into and then back out of all 5 of those wires...... If so, With a simple wire probe/tester check to see if you get power to each injector one at a time.....You will have 2 wires at each injector, one is Hot one is Ground......if you crank the motor over, you should get a pulse for each time that injector is supposed to fire...... If you have power at the unit on the wall, but nothing at the injector, My money is on a fried ECU, or fuse being dead....? Hope this Helps, John in Oregon......

We will most likely go up HWY 58.... there are many roads to get up on and play on, and if we are still able to get in High enough, we can get into both Noble and Regular Fir Tree's ...... We Could meet you in Oakridge Don.....? One thing I will ask, is everyone thats able, bring a CB.....makes these outings more managable if we get more that a few cars in line..... last year we had a total of 14 rides.....Not all subaru, but all need to be 4x4 Later, John

Just had to share...... Went out for a day with my Honey yesterday, We decided to take the Brat out with the winter tires on it and See how far up towards Summit Lake we could get......We've had about 2 feet of snow up at that elevation..... Well.......We had a fellow club buddy along with his Lifted Wagon, And we all decide to head up there...... Got to the Parking area for all the Snowmobilers, and drove past all of them as they Gawked at us.......:moon: This was about 15 miles from the lake still.....and still on the main paved road.....:-p So we Cruise in, and at the dirt road intersection, we bump into a Snowmobile With 2 guys on it coming off the Mountain......they say we wont get far, and that they had run out of gas in one machine way up near the lake........ So of Coarse we said " SEE YOU UP THERE........":wave: We head in, and about 3 miles in, The wagon Spun out , and in the process of trying to get out of the heavy show, he stuck his.....So I go to turn around, and Got over zealous in the Manuever and Whipped my Brat right into the Heavy too......Now, up here at this elevation we are in almost 3 feet of the white stuff.... So I had to brake out my Winch, Pulled out, went down, pulled him out......Turned myself back around, and Away we went back up the Mountain..... In the Time this took, we had 4 more machines coming down the Mountain, and we got the Wow's, and your Crazy and one "Can't believe you got those Subaru's in this far".... So we Poke on up the mountain, and get to the Broke down Snowmobile waiting for Fuel......Drive on up past it, get to the Lake....VERY PRETTY ...... Had Lunch, And headed back down the mountain...... Get to the Dead Snowmobile and the guys had just got back to it with Fuel.....as We come up on them, they just shake their heads in dis-belief...... Head on down Past them once we know they are good to go, and got back down onto the Main paved road.... Then I Got all Rally Motivated, and was running at about 45-60 in 4-Hi Getting all crazy and Crossed up..... Wish I had brought the Video Camera, as Once while I was attempting to get it broke loose and Sideways doing 50 or so I actually Lost most of the Control factor , and Fishtailed it back and forth about 4 times before almost stuffing myself in the Ditch doing a Full 360 and then bringing it almost back out of it in the right direction, and only getting to about 90 from true, Doing a full sideways power drift down the road trying to get it back around straight.....Only managing to power it closer and closer to the ditch......So I locked it up, Stopped just short of the ditch, Cranked the wheel, and Mashed on it again....All this done on about a foot of packed snow and ice..... Wife was Laughing and Punching me.....I was grinning from Ear to Ear Bud in the Wagon behind me when I did this was just shaking his head saying he just knew I was going in the Ditch....... All in all, Had a AWESOME day Made a few Believers.... and I can't wait till the 6th of December for the X-mas tree run.....:santa: Later for Now John in Oregon......

Sounds like ignition pick up module in the disty........ will it fire back up after cooling off for 30 mins or so......? if yes....go with my guess... its a common fail point... later, John in Oregon....

Hello, carfreak... Here is what has to happen for your swap.... I've done this to several Gen one cars..... First Find a Donor car with Ea-81 Motor and Dual range tranny...... Pull your 1600 and its tranny out and put them side by side to the 1800 and its tranny..... you will need to swap motor mounts and tranny Mounts........Notice where tranny mounts are on 1600 tranny as apposed to 1800 tranny....? You will need to relocate these on the 1800 tranny so it fits the Gen one car mounts.... Now, Before installing the 1800 tranny into your car you have to do one of 2 things....... IF your fortunate enough to find a Gen one Brat that had a 1800 motor in it, you can use its Crossmember.......? Their rare, so good Luck...... I normally just modify steering linkage on the old one myself....? to Modify, you will need to pull the tin plate that is a protector piece from down at the Rack where steering gear goes in......It will be held down by 2 or 3 phillips screws....? The rest is a Fab process, so if you intend to go this route you will need to have or know a welder....? if you go this route, e-mail me or call , and I can give you the run down....? later for now, John in Oregon.... 541-729-8490

I've owed Moosens a Set of Spider Mags for over a year now.......Can't ship them with scab tires on them, and Just finally got those busted off the wheels..... I will begin building all my Cool New Gen Bumpers and Stuff after the First of November, and For some of the Things I will need a Car here to build off of.... Just had to Brag a Smidget...... I Took my $200.00 Jallopy Brat up,Stuck my Winter Tires on it And Managed to get 2nd Place in the SUV Class.... Over Ed and His Boys....... I felt Pretty good about that. Only thing that beat me was on of the V-8 Powered Durango's...... Mainly went up to Visit the Buds I don't see regularly, Play in a very Slippery Rally, and Run My Buds #'s who just Passed away in the Hunting Accident.... Was good Getting that high in the Ranks on my 2nd ever Rally run...... For Ed and the Boys, I'll do my best to run More regular next year and Give you all a run for your Fun...
