  2. I second Qmans Light switch guess...... But if your Certain its Good, Look at bottom corners of Windshield For water weeping......if you got water inside on a ground somewhere it could be giving you grief.....Also check grounds under the hood......at Battery to body, at Battery to motor, at transmission to firewall, Are you running all lights during the day as well.....? try to run same equipment during the day as you were at nite and see if you get same issue.... Also time it...... If it's going off after a bit of time, I'd relate it to a relay going bad somewhere...? See if heat makes a difference...? Heater on, or off...? all these will help pinpoint the issue.... Hope this helps, John in Oregon.....
  3. Merry Christmas Everyone........ I don't get a New Subi, But Santa is Bringing the Wife a 91 Legacy Sedan with several mods.....:santa: Later, John and Crew in Oregon......

  6. Hey Vega...... Call me back and we'll talk about the sky being the limit.... When we chatted, you didn't get very specific.....? I said 3" is easily done, To go more is Harder, but can be done..... We can go 12" if you want.... For optimum drivability and Effect on those around you....Go with this..... 8" lift, Ea-81 Motor Stock or Pumped, 5 Speed Hi-lo, Nissan Transfercase out behind 5 speed.....4:11 Diffs, Lsd Both or One, Rear Disc Brake Conversion, 31x10.50x15 tires or Something close..... And then there's Bumpers And Stuff too........ This would be the first Gen one anything to be this way, So braggin rights go with it.... I'll be arond my phone all day today and tomorrow, After that, I'm kinda disappearing so I can finish Jarod's 8" Lift on the "Little Wagon that did"..... Call me, Later, John in Eugene.... 541-729-8490

  9. Ok Here goes... Car is an 88 AWD XT-6 ....... Car has issue's with Air Ride system and Diff Lock......???? First issue....... Does Air Pump in Fender have it's Own fuse...? If so, Where is it Located....? Second Issue......A Subaru Shop Here in town while in the Process of trying to figure out Air Ride Somehow Got Diff-Lock Engaged, and Now it won't come out...... 1.....???? Where is the switch for Diff-Lock Located, ( most are in the center console right...? ) thise car has an un-labeled switch located just forward of E-Brake handle...? 2.......???? Does it have a fuse....? lastly......... If I have to Pull Air Ride Struts, and Stuff Standards in, Will Wagon or 3 Door Struts Fit the bill....?????? All info is Greatly apreciated..... Thanks in advance, John in Eugene........
  10. Are you driving bearings into hub on a bench, or trying to do it in the car....? If you don't have all the proper tools, I suggest pulling the swing arm/Hub, and Doing it on a Bench.......if you have an extra Set of hands to help you, get it in a good large vise, and Gentle press the whole assembly in at once..... then set hub on brake drum as it should normaly rest, and Drive in the stub axle.......this will work best if the drum is sitting on top of the wheel so that stub goes all the way home...... Are you gettin the back side nut tightened down all the way....? Are you using the nut socket back there....? Back Bearings are a pain......once you get them right, they should last another 150,000 or more miles....... Hope this helps, John
  11. I attempted to stick a set of Hatch split seats in a wagon, and width is different, plus bracketry and where it all has to mount is way different and in wrong locations......due to hatch and wagon having different seat elevation to start with....... Sorry Dante..... Later, John in Eugene.....
  12. Hey Andrew.....If you can find a way down, I do have a Turbo car Alt...... I am going to be very busy in cars all day today, so your welcome to come grab it......I'll be here till about 5:00 then We are going to a function this evening..... Call me on the cell.......Later, John 541-729-8490......
  13. Well outward appearances, my 97 2.2 Starter is identical to My 86 Ea-81....? I wonder if they are wound differently inside for higher amperage in start mode for heavier kick......?
  14. I had this issue on the Beast...... What car did the flywheel come off...? Also on new Components, did you order it for the car the flywheel came off....? I Turned my Ea-82 Flywheel for the Beast, and Ordered a PressurePlate for a turbo, but friction disc for a Non Turbo, and the difference in Tolerances was about .0008 But it made just enough drag, that Clutch wouldn't disengage...... I fought this issue for over a week, and had the motor and Flywheel out 6 times Before I figured out I had to order Complete kit for what Ever car the Flywheel came from....Due to the fact that the Machine shop turned it to that year of car's spec's..... Hope this helps...... John in Oregon.....
  15. Starters are Identical all the way up through the Legacy and Impreza..... I haven't physically touched an OutBack or Baja, but I'll put money on them being the same also..... Why bother a good thing...... Later, John in Oregon..... P.S. What age Toyota Flares did you use....I forgot, and need to buy a set for a Ride....??????
  16. You can get power and speed out of your car with 28's.... We took a stock EA-82T and Boosted it to 10 psi......also has an intercooler.... Also has 3" Turbo Back exhaust......flow through cat..... Biggest and Most important thing was to swap in a 3:90 ratio 5 speed Hi-Lo tranny out of a Non Turbo car....you will have to get non Turbo axles for the front, but everything else should be bolt in.... Having this trans Allows the turbo to spool much earlier in rpms, giving you gobs more power.....even in the bottom end of engine rpm's I can break this wagon loose, and get side ways on pavement in 4x4...... feel free to call me on it, I'll explain things better to you...... Don't let anyone tell you it can't be done, cause we did it...... later, John in Oregon......
  17. I curently have a 91 Legacy in my stable with 4EAT and manual button.....I'll investigate it for you guys.... I think it acts more as a lock up stall converter in the converter, giving you better power through the gears, but I 'll check it and get back to you all tomorrow nite on the subject......Wife has the car right now.... Later, John in Oregon....
  18. Well, Our Run this year was Low Key...... For one reason or another a better portion of My Crew was unable to make it Saturday , opting for sunday instead.......I and a few others coundn't change plans mid stream Due to prior commitments, so We had 3 rigs go .... My Suburban, Andrew's Turbo Wagon, and Donny from Bend with his Rx...... we went up played around in a foot or so of snow, Got our tree's and Head'ed down the Mountain around 3:30 or So...... Snowed on us pretty much the whole time we were up there.....Kids all had fun...... My Suburban drove us Home and then decided to Puke the fuel Pump here in the driveway.......So I am in the middle of getting that fixed......At least it drove us Home before puking on me......Must have Subaru Blood in it somewhere.... I. and Others have pics, I'll post as soon as I can....... Later for now, John
  19. Hope to see you tomorrow Austin.... I did n't get to you in time to talk Legacy wheels, oh well......We can chat about it tomorrow...Just not in earshot of the wife... Later, John.....
  20. Well, I and the little Roo made it......Just bairly.... As you all know, I stopped in SLC to chat with Sweet82......Good guy, Love the Bandit...... Got to get my Project going now..... Got out of there late Wed. evening, drove thru to Needles Nevada I think....and that was my last place to fuel before hitting a stretch of desert road with no fuel for over 200 miles. Normally this would be no big deal....But with the little 1600 motor pushing those 27 inch swampers up and down those elevations, it was only getting about 150 miles if I was lucky per tank of fuel....... So in Needles I get on the ole C.B. and ask the drivers coming in from that Direction if there were any fuel stops between Needles and LakeView Or.. Couple of them say yeah, but its about 180 miles from Needles, and Open days only...... So I buy two, 2 gal gas cans, ( cause nowhere sold 5 gal.cans..??) Fill everything up and head for the desert.......get to Denio Or., at 2 am on thursday morning.....Place has shut down permanently.......... Theres a sign on the door saying that closest fuel is in Fields Or.,Hrs 8am-5pm Rain or shine..... Pop. of 11 on a good day........ Fields is 30 miles up a road in the wrong direction.......... But no Choice, cause Not enough fuel to get anywhere else.... So I tootle towards Fields, And as I am driving I notice there are Very brite white Snow capped peaks all around me, Due to the Moon being out and very cold........So I see a dirt trail heading off towards one and Figure I may as well go sleep close to the Mountain, cause I got to wait for fuel to get up in the morning....... After an hr. of meandering through washes and Gullies and Climbing almost 2500 feet of elevation , I came to the end near the actual base of a very Nice looking snow cap......shut the Roo down at 3:45 am and fell asleep till almost 8am......Woke up to a very AWESOME sun rise Blasting the mountains, Got some cool pics of the Roo and mountain together...... Got to watch nearly 40 Antelope grazing on the way down off the hill, Got fuel, ate a Cowboy breakfast in The Fields Cafe...Came out bloated...... Headed for Bend,Or., and then Home..... Only other Issue Roo had was Leaving Bend, Throttle started sticking and acting up.....Ended up that the cable had trashed itself inside the sheath, So I had to cut it off, and drove home the last 85 miles using the hand throttle Jarod had installed for off-roading...... All in all it was a good trip.....got to see some Country I don't ever want to see again... Also got to see some I'd Love to go wheeling in......Oh wait I did wheel some in..... Also got to meet a few members from the Board that i had only talked to here or on the phone with..... Now I got to go get all my snow gear ready for the tree run this weekend.....:santa: Later all, John Back home in Eugene,Oregon.....
