I had a Kia Spectra which was supposed to have 76,000 more miles on it's warranty, and guess what? It caught fire, and I was blamed for it, so they wouldnt cover it under the warranty. I also had a 2003 Hyundai Elantra with a wiring problem, the car would not keep a charge no matter WHAT was replaced, and all this was to MY dime, as like always, I was blamed for the wiring fault, though NOTHING had been changed on the car, not even the stereo. Yeah, yeah, my "new" ones were only Korean cars... but seriously, they ALL break down, Subaru included. I know of at LEAST a dozen people whom have been royally screwed on dealer warranty BS.... some of them even worse than I:dead: You can preach about your payments and reliablilty and warranty, thats fine, but I'd rather pay the local junkyard chump change to keep my coupe running

Smell the ATF. Does it smell like gear oil? If so, ditch the slushbox.

Cool! -
Sounds like the pin for the modulator is missing, or you didnt check the fluid correctly after the modulator swap and its not at the correct fluid level. I say ditch the automatic all together

Speaker Placement in 93 Loyale Wagon
misledxcracker replied to Subi's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
They also blocked off the rear deck holes on some sedans as well. Now I know that wagons have the same thing on the back doors. Cool. When I had my sedan, I cut out the cardboard and mounted speakers, no big. -

They manufacture gauges for all kinds of cars, Subaru included. I have a Nippon Seiki speedometer in my '77 Honda Civic... just not that NS logo -

There IS no "he", it's a company. Go check out the site, if you see a picture of Mr. (or Mrs. ) Nippon-Seiki, put it up on here! Then I can edit my post and stand corrected -

Probably pretty wealthy. You do know you can edit your posts right? No typo if no one's looking -
What kind of Soob did the distributor come out of, fuel system wise? If the "new" distributor is an SPFI model has a crank angle sensor, I doubt it would work correctly on a carbed car.

The Department of Justice has failed me plenty of times Yeah, I'd check the axle... before it blows Also, check your hubs, make sure the splines still fit nice and snug in the hub. I've had one time where the axle and hub's splines were stripped out due to... i dont know. Had the same shaking... the time the axle and hub stripped, and also when I had the DOJ fail. -
I replaced all of them, with the wrong size, screwed up , replaced all of them with the correct size. Any vacuum hose I could get a hold of... was replaced. Maybe I missed one? I hear no hisses anymore...

'86 SPFI. Key in the ON position, the secondary fan turns on all alone. AC can be on, off, car can be running or just simply in the ON position with it off. Okay, so I pull the fan fuse. Clock goes out?! So I put back in the fuse, and the clock works. Disconnect the fan connector, and leave the fuse in, the clock still wont work. What gives?! I love my amber clock but the fan's killing me here! Then... Start her up, idles to about 2k RPM, barely touch the gas and it goes down (thats normal, right?) Cold or warm, it has a misfire (it goes puh puh puh out the exhaust) and it shakes somewhat. At a stop light, it idles really low. Argh. I've cleaned, adjusted, and replaced pretty much everything I can think of. I've Seafoamed it. I sprayed carb cleaner in the IAC when running (it sorta evened it out, gave it more power) NO CEL, unfortunately.
