  1. I may have come to a solution to my no money, no engine problem, I can get a used EA82 spfi for 100 bucks, I think I would do this: EA82 5spd Dual range EA82 motor with bosh CIS-E system and spider intake (check the repair manual for the swap info) I chose the CIS-E for better power and simple wiring what do you think? by the way, its an 84 Brat also, do you think An ea82 (former SPFI) with CIS-E and a spider intake is more powerfull than a EA82 MPFI? AK
  2. like phatbrat said, at least a screwdriver, I would bring a hammer and chisel or a crowbar or hooligans tool, fire departments use it, really rips stuff apart.
  3. I would do chevy orange on the block and heads and light blue on the valve covers, red manifold. my dad is doing this on the V-6 he is putting in his TR7, silver block and heads, blood red valve covers, dark blue manifold, looks nice.
  4. Could this thing potentially hurt my car? I thought of getting it and hooking it up to show to my friends for a laugh, and if it works.......
  5. Yea, I knew it was crap, I just had never heard of one before. I'll still probabaly get it for ten bucks, just to tear apart.
  6. Hello, I just looked at a 92 Loyale today, is it worth $900? 1992 Loyale 4WD auto fuel injected engine, SPFI? power everything (windows, doorlocks, criuse, ac maybe, power steering and brakes most likely). 230,000Mi. very little rust, easily fixable and on the surface of the body, none on the underbody. Amazingly good interior good amount of tread on the tires. I was thinking of offering $600-$700 cash, and point out the mileage and rust while doing it. "It's 8 years younger than my Brat but it has 25,000 more miles on it" What do you think? AK
  7. Hello, I was in surplus city and I saw this today: It was the only one there, hooked to a piece of plywood for display, no instructions or explanation except a little picture showing basically how it is hooked up. It is a 3"X3"X1.5" box with 3 lights on it and it says "rustlers electronic rust control" It has 4 wires sticking out of it, one red labled power, one black labled ground, and two gray wires each ending in a gray plastic covered square labeled "anode". the picture showed the red to power (+ on the batt.), the black to a ground and the two anodes hooked on oppsite sides of the engine compartment. What - the - Hell?
  8. Wait, is the EA82 manifold larger in diameter and bolts up? thats what I could have read and screwed it up. instead of no cat, it would flow better because of the larger diameter? am I still wrong?
  9. Iam not totally sure, but I read somewhere that the exhaust manifold on an EA82 has no catilitic converter and bolts rightup. no cat = better flow. I would check on that better before you get one though.
  10. Then it's zero to a spectacular death in 2.2 seconds:D Just kidding, that would be cool.
  11. ok. so it's just a loyale ststion wagon.
  12. all of my family takes their cars to a guy that doesn't even check the lights, he just makes sure it has three or more tires and passes it.
  13. one time my dads van burst into flames in the parking lot of a chinese food restraunt and the cops in the other lot didn't even get out of their cars, too busy eating donuts I guess, when the fire department showed up 15 minutes later and the "show" was over, the cops left, not one word, not helping when it started to smoke, just leaving us sit there. "thanks for your help officers":madder: AK
  14. Hello, there was this big thing awhile back about changes to the emissions laws in PA, do we need to have a cat. now?
  15. there is an add for a 92 Royal S/W in the paper. I have never heard of one, what is it? AK
  16. I said untill he gets a webber, a hitachi will never be as good as a webber but if you don't have the money or if you want more power while the webber is in the mail you do this. use a piece of coat hanger to wire the secondary barrel so that it opens when the pedal is a third of the way down instead of when the pedal is all the way down and some vacuum has formed, which is the stock way. I still can't find the page that describes this, sorry.
  17. EA82 SPFI pistons give better compression. 1600 pistons are only 9.0:1, the SPFI are 9.5:1. 1984+ EA81s also have better exhaust manifolds, more flow. check out my brat page at the bottom, I have a list of EA81 engine mods on the second page. you can modify the hitachi until you get the webber, just use a piece of coat hanger-not sure where the link to the page is though. AK
  18. were the 2WD subarus 5 speeds? I remember hearing something about that. and were the 2WD auto 4 or 3?
  19. That's what I said when I bought my Brat, Ah... the memories.
  20. Holy crap! I didn't know there were that many, of course I don't go anywhere but older subarus, so that could be a factor.
  21. the Brat at least needs the targa. I will probabaly get the horizon stripe too. thanks. AK
