There are not many in PA. actually, I have only seen three gen1 subarus (all brats) and nothing earlier than that. About the three gen1 brats, two of them were in a junkyard and the other looked like someone it dragged out of a junkyard. I have not seen more than 20 EA81's, and this sounds weird, but almost all of them were brats:headbang: EA82's and later are all over the place.

I have heard of the EA81 swap being done, but I have never done it. (supposed to be easey I think) you will most likely get more responses tommorow.

ok, I thought so. I plan to modify it so that the top part of it is behind the jumpseat headrests so that you can still use the seats.

I know that the belts of my brats jumpseats lock if you don't pull them out slow, if you pulled on them like normal seatbelts they would lock after an inch, seroiusly.

what kind of rollbar is this? I pulled it out of a brat at a junkyard and somebody told me that it is from a toyota. what do you think? rollbar pic

so is the wiring the only "Really" hard part? generally, how do you actually do it, because it may be easier than I think? I would do this, 9.5:1 pistons, air intake, turbo-back exhaust, 93 octane and an octane increaser. cooler theromstat, accel ignition, 8mm plug wires, stock boost because of the increased comp., and more. maybe I can get a whole GL-10 cheap, and just strip it? (I would do rear discs then)

sorry, that is a good idea but my brat has a carbed motor, so theres no Ea81T to use, only an EA81carbed and a EA82T.

I have a 1984 Subaru Brat GL and I want to try a 9.5:1 GL-10 Trubo engine and 5spd D/R transplant. I know I can do the tranny, that is the easey part. I am not sure if I can do the engine transplant, the wiring sounds veryhard. But I have an idea, can I change the engine's fuel injection system to a CIS-E system and use that systems simpler computer? see, I don't know what the turbos comp. monitors and if it would run with just the CIS-E system? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:boohoo:
