Sorry HTi... didnt read your vehicle list. My RX has the T in it, and it looks like it runs to the vacuum switches that control the diff lock. -Brian

NO!!! Keep the T!! That T is for your diff lock switch (we talked about this last night). HTi, unless you have looked under the hood of a RX or GL10 with a diff lock, you wouldnt have seen it. Looks like Turbo 2.7 has got you covered. -Brian

Hey guys... hope this works. My DSL has been down, i kinda tricked it into working. Anyhow, the RX made it there and back with no problems. Other than the coolant hose blowing. Sorry jeremy it had to be you that was driving at the time, only wish I could see the look on your face The wheeling was awesome! The dirt we were on was very forgiving, im glad none of us broke anything. Dave, your flat tire doesnt count Too bad my Wagon had to go and blow a head gasket. Probably shouldnt have driven it to the gas station with no coolant Oh well, i think i have a lead on a replacement wagon... now that I know the RX can make the trip (and effortlessly might I add) we will have to setup another wrench fest soon... Jibs... check that camera. There is some awesome footage of Dave conquering that 1st hill climb I know i got some great shots of you and jeremy trying as well. Oh, and thanks for letting me mob your silver brat through that puddle, that thing runs nice! Still needs a low range :-p Hey STi dude, you gotta try to make it out with us sometime. Can I force my defroster to work?
Thanks Guys. Went out to check that vacuum line, and it looks like i didnt re-connect it quickly found a vacuum source and now the defrost is working WOOHOO!!! RENO HERE I COME! -Brian

Can I force my defroster to work?
EA82T, RX, stupid buttons for the defrost, heater and blower wont work. The OFF works, but then i cant get anything to work. When i got into the car this morning and turned the blower fan on, it works but blows through the vent as if the A/C button is pressed. The Defroster is pressed, but no matter what I do i cannot get air to come out of the defroster. Sucks cause I gotta drive over the pass tonight and I cant really see through foggy windows. Is there a way to manually force air to go through the defroster? -Brian

Flutter under boost
Yeah, ive run this Intercooler before, on the old engine and it was nowhere near 3psi drop (what did you have? a kenworth Front Mount?) With the stock engine it was a night and day difference with the intercooler and without. With the intercooler I had hardly any hesitation under boost and acceleration (well, until my knock sensor went bad... different story). Oh, and with the high comp pistons, i can afford to give up 3psi if i have to. -Brian

Thats a good idea, i may have to go do that. When i put all that on, i was eager to get the car running so I wonder if maybe i didnt tighten the intake plentum tight enough? I did connect the green connectors and my CEL went off (oh yeah, it came back on yesterday and has been on all day). Then i checked the timing and it was at 18 degrees. So i bumped it up to 20 degrees and went for a test drive. Still some hesitation but im hoping the intercooler fixes some of that. -Brian

Why does the 2WD tranny have a Diffrential dip stick.
nope, 4WD is built into the tranny. IF you put a 2WD tranny into a 4WD Car, you now have a 2WD Subaru. -Brian

Naw, i havent done that just yet. I was going to mess with the connectors tomorrow as my CEL has been on since i got the car running. But, after I adjusted the timing today the CEL has gone out. I'll probably pull codes tomorrow. -Brian

Flutter under boost
Well the wierdest thing. The other day after I dropped the motor in, i checked the timing and it was at 10 degree's. I took it on a few test runs and checked again when i got done, and it showed to be at 22 degree's. So I took it down to about 20 degree's and have left it since. Drove it to work for the 1st time yesterday and today. Noticed in the morning if I feather the throttle it runs fine, if i gass it at all (boost or no) i get flutter and the car just doesnt pull like it should. Tonight I got home and I checked it and the timing said it was at 10 degree's So i bumped it up to 20 and took it for a test run. No more hesitation. Also no flutter and the pull I Was looking for is back. I really need to get my intercooler on there. -Brian

Flutter under boost
WHenever i hit boost, instead of accelerating i hear a bunch of flutter comming from my motor. The boost gauge stays solid at 5psi... engine hesitates but doesnt really accelerate like theres 5lbs of boost. I checked for leaks when i got home but found none. Could it be bad timing? -Brian

Should we change the topic so it reflects 4/2? I'll be working saturday, but I get Sunday and Monday off. I think im going to try to head up saturday after work that way I can wake up bright and early at Jibs and just drive to the meet, instead of spending 2hrs driving to the meet at the buttcrack of dawn -Brian

Radiator Flush?
I flushed my radiator by removing it and running water through it for a while. Wasnt nothing as extreme as NV's suggestion, but it helped my brat alittle. I tried the prestone stuff but it didnt work too well. I suggest doing it on a hot day -Brian
