  1. There are hotels all over reno Sucks your gonna be here that week, thats the week my sister will be in town. I wont be able to get away -Brian
  2. Counter sink your holes so the lugs will fit properly. Our wheels are lug centric, not hub centric... if the holes aren't counter sunk, the lugs wont do their job properly. -Brian
  3. Why do I need 5 of the swampers Zap? I was gonna use my old coopers as spares, and get the lifetime warranty so I can replace one if I ever damage it beyond repair. Its good to know the kumho's are 6 ply, but I dont think tirerack offers a "no questions asked" waranty. And your right about the look. Im thinking with the hatch, it deserves the swampers. I will be using a 3/3 lift, so I guess i better take it to work and maybe heat up my sheetmetal before bending it. -Brian
  4. $250 is a screamin deal! Gratz Rob. Lets see it mounted to that beast of yours. -Brian
  5. Northguy, i have a set of Cooper Discoverer STT's.... well, 3 left since 1 of them has a huge gash in it now. Cooper no longer offers the 205/75R14, so im stuck with looking for new tires. If i got the kumho, they would match my Coopers pretty well, and i would have 3 coopers to use as spares. But I dont know what ply they are, and im sure the 6ply of the swampers will be better. Scott, how old are your tires? Thats gonna suck if I ruin some SSR's on the 1st or second run... the trails here are brutal. -Brian
  6. Will... when will you learn? Good to see you back here again tho. -Brian
  7. Rubbing is what im affraid of. I dont want to have to beat this hatch too much in order to fit tires. Im after the 14" rim size, and im wondering if some different offset tires will help the rubbing issues. -Brian
  8. Im thinking of picking up the 27x9.5R14 SSR's from Super Swamper. Im curious as if these are true 27" or closer to 28" Its up between those and the Kumho Venture's. Just depends on if I can afford $500 for SSR's then another couple hundred on street tires. -Brian
  9. Yeah, i had a friend who tried to fit 15's to his 390's. It didnt last long, and i would definatly not recommend doing it. He then tried to trim his 390's down .3" to make them 15's. That did not work either. Bottom Line, Stay away from 390mm rims. -Brian p.s. Yes, 390's have markings, but Scott already told you that
  10. Got a BYB 3/3 lift chillin in the back of the hatch just waiting. -Brian
  11. Yup, had the hatch open when i installed the rack... just to be sure it wouldnt interfere with anything. I think I may have found my tires. TireRack sais they have the Kumho venture in stock, 27x8.5R14 Im gonna order 4 of em, then here in a couple weeks I should be ready for the lift. -Brian
  12. Yeah he has some prime property. That little bit of area is probably.... 1/20th of the land he has. And it borders the hillside, trails right out his backyard practicly. The hills we were at are probably 5miles away from his pad. -Brian
  13. One more pic I forgot to add. This is me and Dave Next trip we definatly need to bring a camcorder... jibs :-p -Brian
  14. I took of from here Saturday night to go meet Jibs in Reno. Plan was to dissasemble the wagon, and start alittle work on the hatch. Didnt plan on doing much wheelin, but when I got there we found this set of trails, that just happend to lead to his place. So we took a detour and broke the hatch in. Sunday morning we woke up around 8am and started tearing into the wagon. Jeremy (Subieman) showed up and by noon we pretty much had the wagon stripped down to nothing. Dave (NV Zeno) showed up and we decided to head out and grab some lunch. After lunch, it was still pretty early, so we headed off to some local hills and played around for about an hour. The ground is pretty much decomposed granite, and alot of it. Very easy to loose traction and dig yourself a hole. Going up the hills were almost impossible, but it was fun going down. We ended up following the trails for a little, but seemed every trail lead to an impossible hill climb, or a dead end. Still alot of fun, and plenty more trails out there to play on. -Brian
  15. This wasnt crossposting. This was a thread for the off-roading aspect of my new car. The other thread was just a "HEY CHECK OUT MY NEW CAR" thread. Cuase i woudlnt want that in the off-road forum. I'd apreciate it if you would return it to its original forum. Thanks -Brian p.s. Show me these "rules"
  16. 1-800-radiator. I think they have the cheapest prices around. -Brian
  17. You can leave it in both forums, thanks Ken. Here's a wheelin pic to officialize it: Went up to reno and stripped down my wagon. As you can see, the roof rack and bumper already made it on the hatch, and i cut the fenders in order to save them from later abuse. The lift kit is in the back right now, i wont be able to install it for a couple weeks. Jibs, im not sure if i will use swampers. Im gonna call all the local cooper dealers and try for some more Discoverer STTs. I really like those tires. -Brian
  18. Yeah i didnt track my milage on this trip. My PDA was dead, and it has the software I use. I was lead-foot the entire way so i doubt it would have mattered. On the way home, i had an additional 50lbs on the bumper (installed my brushguard when i was in Reno) and also installed my roof rack so im sure there was more drag. -Brian
  19. Thats some impressive MPG you got there. My '84 GL Wagon once got almost 60 miles to the gallon. BUt that was on a road trip from Ashland Oregon to Weed CA. I was following my buddy and he was following big-rigs the entire time. I think the wind draft helped alittle, cause after we left Weed my MPG dropped back down to the 30's. Im gonna be driving my new '84 GL Hatch from Sac to Reno today, and I think im going to log my miles and calculate my MPG. We'll see what i come up with. -Brian
  20. Awesome video and even better music. Resolution could be alittle better, but definatly some awesome action shots! -Brian
  21. Yeah, the factory service manual. -Brian
  22. WOW the search function does work! Dont mean to dig up a dead post, but this should come to the top Im gonna do away with those PK rear brackets (sorry patrick, no offence) when i swap the lift to my hatch. -Brian
  23. Oh, it may still become my daily driver I will have to take it easy... i hear these hatches are easier to wheel than the wagons. I will be sure not to piss any of you guys off. And Rob, it would be an honor to park my hatch next to yours at the show! -Brian
  24. Last one i sold, GD, i traded straight across for a custom 2.5" Downpipe for the RX Oh, and the one before that I sold at the WCSS to Mike for $125. Ive known MAV for a few years and would rather see him with it than some Datsun guy. PM me bud -Brian
  25. Yeah i cant wait to test it out. Im sure its gonna be alot lighter than the wagon, so going uphills wont be such a pain. -Brian
