  1. Oh yes buddy! Thats already in the works. Probably wont be in stockton, trying to find an good meeting point for everybody since I will have some people from Chico comming and maybe even further north. -Brian
  2. I went and put all the PCV stuff back together. Its not stock, but it should work. Im getting some hesitation under Wide Open Throttle, i checked the timing and it was at 22 degree's. I adjusted it to 20 degree's, but the engine was still cold and i didnt mess with the test connectors for the ECU. The car idles GREAT. I dont think this car has ran this good since i owned it. Now it'll start right up, and hold idle at 950rpm. I can rev it and the throttle responce is quick with no lag and once i let off the throttle quickly drops to 950 and there it stays. My CEL is on, but right now I dont really care. Ive put the hood back on, and that signify's the end of its ressurection. Now im going to try not to kill it again -Brian
  3. That would be badass hanging up in the garage. Would make your 2 car feel like a 3car -Brian
  4. I noticed that on the test drive yesterday miles. I was able to pass some lady without needing to downshift I think im going to put the wastegate back in stock form, and see if that doesnt smooth out the boost alittle. Also, I checked the timing and it showed to be at 10 degree's I dont think that can be bad, but im going to set it closer to 20 and see if that helps. Im sure it will. Oh... and the only thing I run is premium. RIght now my intercooler isn't plumbed, so its running with a stock plentum and no bypass valve. -Brian
  5. Yeah, it cant be too hard to pull... its only an intercooler. And for the record, ive never broken anything at the junkyard that i didnt HAVE to break. Again, my original post was a joke, but i guess humor doesnt portray itself well over the internet. The junkyards I goto dont "haggle" its either, buy it or put it in a bin over there and we'll dispose of it. Its also not a mom & pop operation, Pick-n-pull is a nationwide franchise... i pay $2 to enter the place wether I buy anything or not. So most the time, I pay $2 for a pocket of lug nuts or 10mm bolts (can never run out of those). -Brian
  6. Wow guys... cry me a river. ITS A FREAKING JUNKYARD!! NOT WALMART! I dont know if the junkyard here are the same as yours, but the cars we have in our junkyard are... well... JUNK! This isnt a carlot full of new model showcars, the cars I pull parts off of have been rolled, burned, hit from the front, hit from the rear, t-boned. My initial post was actually a joke, but since you guys like to hug and kiss your parts cars i guess i should have thought twice. I guess i wont mention all the parts I pocket. -Brian
  7. You guys would never wanna take a trip to the JY with me then. I bring a hammer and a prybar... if there's something I want and those 2 tools cant get it, i go get the sawzall -Brian
  8. I didnt, but ive seen where they're located in the saabs. If you are going to the junkyard, bring a prybar and a couple screwdrivers. A utility knife may help too. Break everything surrounding the intercooler, but leave the intercooler in tact. Cut anything that maybe holding the intercooler to the car and then use a prybar to bend anything that maybe in the way. Then carefully extract the intercooler It shouldnt be too hard, an adjustable wrench or a socket set may help. The turbo hoses are most likely connected to the intercooler with hoseclamps so bring both screwdrivers with you. Oh and by the way, you'll find the Intercooler located on the passenger side of the engine, near the fender. -Brian
  9. GL Boost, no I installed a N/A Block in my EA82T after i blew up the original motor. Motor blew up the weekend before thanksgiving, and ive been in the process of putting everything from my stock block onto a stock MPFI Block from a XT. Just got back from its 1st, 2nd and 3rd official test runs. All i can say is WOW!!! Im in love all over again Car runs great, plugged some of the left over hose fittings and PCV ports that i didnt use and now it holds a steady idle at 950rpm. I can race it all day long, and if i drop the throttle it goes to 950 and stays there, no bouncing around or eloping. Boost is kinda wierd. Maybe its cause i messed with my wastegate, but it likes to spike at 5psi and hold somewhere around 3psi. Could be my gauge out of calibration so maybe its higher, but if I gun it i can get it to stay at 5psi and the motor doesnt seem to care. Only while WOT in 5th gear do I get some hesitation. I think once i re-install my intercooler that problem should be solved. Yes Jeremy, at this rate i have no excuse not to make it to reno next weekend Cant wait either. -Brian
  10. !WOOT! Finally got a chance to crank the engine over today. I spent all day yesterday mounting the intake manifold and connecting/replacing all the hoses involved with PCV and fuel. I also went and bought a new battery along with a couple other odds and ends. Today I woke up and installed the radiator, oil filter and alternator. Filled it with oil and water. I performed a compression test before I put the plugs in and everything checked out okay. So in went the plugs, and then it was only a matter of figuring out which plug wires went where. I just got that figured out, installed the wires and decided it was now or never. Tried to fire it up without a MAF or any intake plumbing but it would only crank. I couldnt get it to run so I decided i would install the maf and all that... then try. After I put the stock intake plentum on, i looked over and there I saw the coil wire laying on the hood. So I installed the coil wire to the disty and went to try again. The motor didnt even make 2 full revolutions before it fired up. And i mean, it fired right up! Better than before.... but the idle likes to climb up to 3000 or so. I guess all i have left to do is button up the PCV system and take her for a test drive -Brian
  11. Ok so i took a shot in the dark, and yep... the wiring arrangement is the same as EA81, and same firing order (thanks Spiffy!). Put the wires on and she fired right up! So stoked. -Brian
  12. I gotta put the plug wires back on the RX and see if it will fire up. But the Service Manual i have doesnt have the firing order in it. And the HTKYSA lists EA81's, but doesnt specify if EA82 is the same. I have this graphic I made up a while back for the EA81: Would it be the same for the EA82... just the disty in the back instead of the front? -Brian
  13. i havent done this conversion, but i did remove that boost solenoid. Just leave it unplumbed, it wont effect the engine in any way... it just delays pressure to the wastegate under certain conditions. No harm in leaving it unplugged. -Brian
  14. Today I got the intake manifold bolted on. Was able to get all the hoses connected and wiring done. Also put together the bracket for the alterantor. Tomorrow i'll fill the motor with oil, do the intake plumbing and install the Alternator & Radiator. Newest Pix Here are some other pix. http://gallery.usmb.net/album46 Hopefully tomorrow I'll have her running again -Brian
  15. Yeah... Kumho R700s. You can find them on tirerack.com and yes, they are available in 13" rim size -Brian
  16. Save all the hassle and just get a mechanical water temp gauge. Thats the next thing on my list after the RX is running again, all mechanical gauges. I cant risk depending on 20yr old subaru gauges, ive had to many fail or read faulty on me. Those wagon wheels would be sweet with a set of: Mounted to them. Perfect for dirty rally or trips to the snow. -Brian
  17. Nowhere near you.... ..yet. GD should be able to get it running. -Brian
  18. Did you have to install the distributor when you put your block in? How about your timing belts, did you mess with those at all? -Brian
  19. Yes, backup regularly. Burn all those Photo's to a CD or 2...keep one onsite, and the irreplacable ones keep at a friends (incase, god forbid, the house burns down or something). Which reminds me, i have 8gb of MP3's i need to backup before my HDD fails. -Brian
  20. Uhm... what mod? They look like subie gauges. And whats a V1? -Brian
  21. I have no problem with it. May work out better for me... i can do some work on the car earlier in the day (if it still needs it) and maybe head out the night before... or at least get a good nights rest for the early drive up there. -Brian
  22. If you lifted the engine higher, you would be lifting the tranny as well... the CV's wont like that for long. If you went with a custom pan, just use the dipstick to measure when its full. The oil pickup tube requires a certrain level, so as long as its good ont he dipstick it should be fine. -Brian
  23. It would be best to get Noah's. I wanna keep mine for my next wheeler. -Brian
  24. Ive never worked on a EA81 that had a swaybar up front. No swaybar: Are you talking about this guy here? -Brian
