  1. Oh, here's another question. Can I tap into the intake plentum and run a vacuum tube to a vacuum gauge and have a make-shift boost gauge??? -Brian
  2. There will be no problem selling that thing on ebay. I would be suprised if it went for less than $3,000. I havent seen the ebay ad yet, but the looks of that brat sais "SELLER" all over it. Sorry pal, but if that thing is already on ebay, looks like your fighting with a whole school of fishes now. -Brian
  3. Sounds like a good idea! Ive got the car if anyone wants to do it. Its located in Sacramento... come get it! -Brian
  4. WOW Skip... thats alotta stuff. I think im going to stuff an intercooler under the hood, increase the boost and then just sell it off. Not sure if im going to get all the nifty stuff you have. -Brian
  5. Miles... the Loyale line is part of the EA82 series and would be considered Gen3. We really dont call it Gen3 though, most cases we use the engine code to classify the model genre. EA71=Gen1, EA81=Gen2, EA82=Gen3. EA71's have the Gen1 Body style, skinny and old looking. EA81's have the Gen2 body style from 1980 to 1984, and EA82's have the newer Loyale type boxy body style. -Brian
  6. Gotchya! I could have toldya that C came from the plentum, but i guess i goofed I'll goto the Sube dealer and see what they want for an authentic EA82T PCV valve. -Brian
  7. Always interested in spare parts... no need for it, but maybe i can rig it for use in the garage as an exhaust fan -Brian
  8. Boz, you can right click on the album and select "copy link location" or you can right click on the actual photo, and choose properties. In the photo Properties, you'll be able to copy the address for the specific photo, and then you can link directly to that photo from the USMB. Oh, and BTW... those rims look great. $80 for 4 is a steal. -Brian
  9. The ones I got were cut to fit. 8mm, not a pain, pretty easy. I got a set for a V8, so now i have 4 extra 8mm spark plug wires. The hardest part is threading the wire through the boot. -Brian
  10. Carson City is a HEAVEN for older sube's. There has to be at least 40 of them there. I wont have any free time for a couple weeks. And we need to find a day where our schedules all match. I have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off... but I can specify to get a day off if i give enough notice at work. -Brian
  11. I have them gapped at 0.050" give or take 0.005" The car pulls very nicely now, and alot smoother. I still have alittle hesitation, i believe its either carb trouble or exhaust. I will clean the carb as best I can later, and after the weber i'll upgrade to a 2" catless exhaust. -Brian
  12. Didnt Pres. Regan have a Gen1 Brat? And didnt it sell to a USMB member on eBay? -Brian
  13. Yeah, lets see... even if they quoted you $3000 as a "reasonable" price, i could spend $3000 on some tracks and go anywhere, or spend $500 on a set of pugs and real off-road tires... and go anywhere. I see no need for tracks, other than they look cool. -Brian
  14. Which yard? Are there many subaru's? There's a junk yard in Carson City that has all the parts i need. Ive been thinking of going up there, but i have to sell a computer 1st before I can afford the parts. -Brian
  15. The lights arent bad at all. Brighter than my headlights. Ive been through 3 sets of these lights before. I keep mounting them low enough to hit rocks. The casing is just plastic, so they shatter. -Brian
  16. Im in sacramento, aprox 2 hours from there (depends on which Subaru I take). Would love to have a meet in Reno, or better yet... some trails in Tahoe. Jeremy knows of some nice places up near Truckee to have a small get together. Dave, when are you moving to Nevada? -Brian
  17. Had the day off, so I decided it was time to make the Brat run as good, if not better, than my Wagon. Went to Autozone and got a new Accell super stock coil (got the yellow instead of the chrome). Also got some 8mm Accell plug wires that are yellow as well. Had to get a new set of NGK's to go with it all. I replaced the rotor and cap a couple months ago. Now that i have the coil and wires to help it, does anyone recommend a specific gap? Also, i stopped at harbor frieght and they had the cheapy off-road lights on sale. Ended up picking up 3 sets at $8ea. Im sure one set will go on the brat and get broken someday, but i think the other 2 will go on my roof rack when i get it -Brian
  18. Mick, you should open a Brat's Only parts store. Im sure you have enough parts now to make a profit. -Brian
  19. I put a new PCV valve in this car about 6 months ago, the last time it was driven daily. I got it from Kragen, but it helped alittle. I noticed alot of the hoses under the car are cracked real bad. The hose leading from the drivers side valve cover is completly missing. I think im going to goto the junkyard and grab some new(er) hoses unless i find a deal somewhere for a spool of hoses thats the right diameter. -Brian
  20. Nope, not unless you swap it with the Dual Range full time 4WD 5spd from a RX. -Brian
  21. Not yet Jack. I havent prepped it to sell. If i took pix of it right now, i would probably get $3.50 for it. Patience -Brian
  22. I dont think im going to need another one corky, but thanks for the offer. I'm curious as to what the oil in the turbo means?? I have to fix a fuel line before i can crank it over for a compression test, but im worried about the oil i found in the turbo. Will the turbo need to be replaced, or resealed, or is that just normal? -Brian
  23. Skip, the way you said that makes me think the Hot Wire MAF is either desired to have, or at least pictures of one. Let me know if you want more detailed shots. That idle control works, and almost too good. As long as I can glue it on and not worry about it blowing something up, im cool with that. Thanks Skip. -Brian
  24. There are only 2 styles, Gen1 and Gen2. Both gen's should all share the same rear gate for each gen. (ie, 82 should swap with 86, and 77 should swap with 80, but not between Gen's) Not sure about dimensions. But Gen1 is 77,78,79,80 & 81, Gen2 is 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87 & 88. -Brian
  25. If you search for a local Cooper dealer, you can probably find a dealer with a set of the 14" STT's. I found 3 mom & pop tire dealers in sacramento that had at least 1 set of the 205/75R14's in stock. I ended up putting a hole in one of them while driving through a creek yesterday. So I have to find another. Since everyone is going to larger rims on their off-road rigs (the reason its hard to find them online) there should be some left on the shelf for me oh and, since the tires have been sitting on the shelf collecting dust, the dealer was happy to sell them to me. I think i paid $77ea mounted and ballanced after tax. -Brian
