  1. Sounds like the VR on your alt is going bad, time for a new one. I give up on the prize though.
  2. Yeah thats why I never had lights up there. Always blinded me when I tried to drive.
  3. Awesome, reminds me of the grill on my 4runner
  4. just one more reason to get some aux. lights to mount on there.
  5. Jeremy i know thanks Mike, that is very good to know, i am going to mark that on the map and we can head for a toll-free crossing. Dave, shaded forest definatly sounds better than desert.
  6. Here is a link of what I kinda had in mind: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Citrus+Heights,+CA+95610&daddr=Gardnerville,+NV+89460+to:Reno,+NV+to:Rim+Drive,+Crater+Lake,+OR+97604+(Crater+Lake+National+Park+Entrance)+to:Skamania+County+Fairgrounds+in+Stevenson,+WA&hl=en&geocode=%3B%3B%3BFd6OjgIdEl-4-CEiMAZtf81pyw%3BFYYwuQIdnPm7-CG7_eByXd0RhQ&mra=ls&sll=42.175343,-120.897616&sspn=12.663161,28.54248&ie=UTF8&ll=42.163403,-120.959473&spn=12.666395,28.54248&t=h&z=6 I only threw in crater lake so it would keep Google from forcing me to Take I5.
  7. No trails for this convoy... Dave, i havent talked to JB a whole lot on the exact route, but im not sure why we would want to head toward I5... would be out of the way wouldnt it? Im still in the process of punching in addresses and seeing what towns, routes, and whatnot. We still got the better half of a week to finalize everything.
  8. Our trip plans should put us near Bend oregon friday mid-afternoon. Not sure exactly what our route will be, but if anyone who lives along the way is planning to drive north and would like to follow along, they are more than welcome! I will have my laptop & GPS setup, and if we're lucky enough to find ourselfs at a Starbux friday morning (or any modern coffee shop for that matter) i will be able to reply here with our location & status. Would be nice to meet at a fueling station close to the freeway to help keep downtime to a minimum. We are a pack of EA81's so don't worry about not being able to keep up So far we got: TheSubaruJunkie (1983 GL10 Brat, EA81) NV Zeno (Bone stock 1983 GL Wagon) Jibs (Either one of his Brats, or a hatch...) Possibly Subieman??? (1996 Outback Wagon with A/C [LUCKY!!]) Did I miss anybody? Dalton... you there?
  9. I took care of noflood. Pete, jump in the chat i gotta speak with you.
  10. Not green for long, but its like 12:30am. Okay, you talked me into it. It'll be different shortly.
  11. Thanks Andy for helping bring this back to life again! I know there will be alot of happy USMB members tomorrow morning.
  12. Is this thing gonna be at the WCSS??
  13. You should look into getting a Brat targa stripe made for it when its done
  14. DUDE!!! Using that 3door is such a better idea than trying to convert a wagon. That thing looks badaas!
  15. The footage will be on digital8 film, until I port it to my PC via Firewire. Production and what to do with said footage can be agreed upon when all parties involved are face to face.
  16. You should goto Autozone and pick up a can of the Rustoleum spray on bedliner. And do a light/even coat on that thing. It will match the rack (hell, re-do the rack too cause that job I did is like 6 years old).
  17. Greenley is bringing a wiring harness up with him. I am bringing my camcorder. If there is any onsite electricity anywhere, it would be a good idea to host it there. That way I can record the entire thing without worrying about batteries.
  18. Yeah i recognized it as a stock guard, but in addition to the wire mesh, those two bars on each headlight hoop are added as well. Did you score it from the junkyard??
  19. WOAH!!! WAY COOL!!! Who did the modifications??
  20. Thats awesome to hear. I have scrapped too many subies cause of the smog nazi's here. My brat passed last year and I was flabbergasted. But i guess there is still some life in our ole EA81's afterall.
  21. Yeah tex, we understand. I remember last year we rolled up to the show around 11am and Tex was directing traffic. He told us things werent ready, and to kill a couple hours... and that we did. Jibs & I did some awesome sight seeing, and also found some spectacular waterfall. This year, im sure we could do the same.
  22. Try heat. A small propane torch will work just fine. You want to heat the outer cup which should let it expand. And a good whack with a hammer will jar it loose. Penetrating oil & any vibration at all will also help.
  23. I would let it soak overnight Pete. Find a tub deep enough to submerge the entire diff, maybe try diesel. Either that, or heat. Heat the outer cup and smack it real good with a hammer.
