Rolling Tool Boxes....
Everybody who works with tools for a living, should have a clean and organized box. Mick. I have both SAE & Metric tools. But I do not seperate them.... i keep all my sockets in one drawer, and all my wrenches in another. I HIGHLY recommend these socket organizers: I have 6 of these... 2 for 1/4 sockets, 2 for 3/8 & 2 for 1/2" drive sockets. one SAE & one Metric. I got mine from Craftsman.com along with a 250pc socket set a while back. I have a Matco locking socket rail that I keep in my service bag for sockets on the go. And BTW. That Matco 6 series is SEXY!!! I was lookin at buyin that box but just couldn't bring myself to spend that much.

AWD Conversion
There is no transmission on earth that will make your 86 Sedan keep up with a WRX. Sorry, just aint gonna happen. Unless you use a WRX transmission... and keep it connected to the EJ20T

AWD on EA?
How do you know for sure its an AWD transmission and what did it come out of? If your car is NON-Turbo, and the transmission is from a Turbo'd car... you will need to swap your CV joints with ones that match the tranny. Other than that... as long as its a manual-to-manual swap its pretty basic and straightforward. Also make sure the overall ratio of the transmission matches your rear diff.

Rx FT4WD Transmission in RWD
Definatly need to have the center locked. If you don't, the diff acts like any other open diff, and it will just send all the power to the front (since there are no axles there). Even locked, would still be real careful. But im not sure what it actually uses to lock the center diff, and how strong it all is. No luck on front CV's i take it??

Subthread: WCSS T-shirts & Beer Glasses (Pics Added)
Richie I am not sure if I am going to be able to attend. if I pre-order and things fall through, can I put them in Jibs name or maybe NV Zeno's so they can make their way back to Sacramento?

Really dumb idea ?
Pete... The first time I ever removed an engine, it was a EA81 from a Wagon. We used the rafters in my dads garage, 2 pulleys and some rope. Used that method to put the motor back in as well. Worked real well with a couple guys on each end helping to lift the weight of the motor. I would check and make sure there is no rotten or damaged wood that you may break through. Could cause alot of damage to your garage... engine, and yourself.

Rolling Tool Boxes....
This is the setup I got: http://www.craftsman.com/shc/s/p_10155_12602_009H0225000B?vName=Storage+%26+Garage&cName=Tool+Storage&sName=Chest+%26+Cabinet+Combos I bought the top used for $250 and the bottom was on sale for $900. This was a couple years ago. Love the ball bearing drawers. The two largest full size drawers feel alittle flimsy if you have them loaded with sockets & air tools, like I do. But the drawers stay latched securely & require you to lift the handle of the drawer to open it. I opted to buy a cheaper box and fill it with more expensive tools. The box & my sockets are the only craftsman items I will use. I also have this as my workbench that i picked up about 6 years ago: http://www.craftsman.com/shc/s/p_10155_12602_00959746000P?vName=Storage+%26+Garage&cName=Garage+%26+Work+Area&sName=Work+Benches Except mine does not have ball bearing drawers. Its a pain in the rump roast, but works for a bench

Wanna take a guess what size tires??
Just to use as comparison. We know the 2nd brat HAS 14" rims. The first Brat is still kinda iffy. I would think they would be 13" myself, but it is still hard to tell. This article of DRIVE (http://www.drive.subaru.com/Fall06_attic.htm) has additional images of the same Brat, at differnet angles. They could be 14". But compared to any other Gen1 Brat, the stance and tire diameter does not look that much different.

horsepower or torque?
From everything the seat of my pants has told me, torque likes to kick in at much lower rev's. And when you are off-road, that is very... very good.

Some interior, stereo, CB Radio work on the 4Runner
Okay, so this is pretty much where I have left off. After that poor excuse for a car stereo self terminated, I sent it back for a full refund. I was able to sell some extra toyota parts too, and ended up with enough in my paypal account to pick up this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370235089190 I made an offer of $60, and he replied with nothing lower than $66. So after tax & shipping, $82. We will see if this one can outlast the other. If there are RCA outputs on this, then I am going to be golden! More to come later in the week. *EDIT* I found this review about the deck: http://www.actapricot.org/jonathan/car_audio/index.php?advanced=&catid=64574&q=

Recent BRAT purchase
There are a few members in Colorado that would be more than willing to help you out. I would put a thread in our "Meet & Greet" forum and see what some locals have to say about parts. Alot of small, shipable parts can be had from our marketplace cheap & easy as well.

Nevada Meet Weekend of July 25th
Pete glad you were able to make it home without trouble. My drive home was ************ty, but only cause i was ready to puke the entire way home. Brat held steady at 75+ the majority of the way. Did you guys get the EJ dropped in? Wishin I coulda been there... but as soon as I got home I went to bed, and didn't get up until Monday. Feelin' alittle better now, thanks

You could cut the fenders, and install bushwacker flares. a 4, or 6" lift... and a EJ22 Then you would be set! From the pictures, it looks like the underside is still in good shape.
