  1. Needs an internal cage to make it 100% Otherwise I that looks to be a well put together machine. Is that a Honda 4WD Tranny they used?
  2. WOW!! Thats awesome to hear. What did you guys do about that adapter plate??? Finish cutting it?
  3. There are a few members in Colorado that would be more than willing to help you out. I would put a thread in our "Meet & Greet" forum and see what some locals have to say about parts. Alot of small, shipable parts can be had from our marketplace cheap & easy as well.
  4. Pete glad you were able to make it home without trouble. My drive home was ************ty, but only cause i was ready to puke the entire way home. Brat held steady at 75+ the majority of the way. Did you guys get the EJ dropped in? Wishin I coulda been there... but as soon as I got home I went to bed, and didn't get up until Monday. Feelin' alittle better now, thanks
  5. You could cut the fenders, and install bushwacker flares. a 4, or 6" lift... and a EJ22 Then you would be set! From the pictures, it looks like the underside is still in good shape.
  6. Oh... an AUTO!!! You had me stumped for a second too.
  7. Yeah i dont want to focus this reply on how much you got ripped off. Just keep telling yourself they are getting rarer and rarer everyday, it will help you sleep better at night. The car is not un-repairable. Let me get you started on the right path... The door is the same as any other 2 door Subaru of the same body style (coupes from 1980 to 1984, and Hatchbacks & Brats from 1981 to 1986). A replacement door shouldn't cost you much. Wagon doors are too short, and will not work, so remember if you find a door it must be from another 2 door, not 4 door. The quarter panel can also be found. There was a thread not long ago about one popping up on craigslist for $50. There are also people who re-manufacture panels.... and any qualified body shop could install it. Or you could have the dents pulled and filled, but that rust on the fender is some of the nastiest I have ever seen. And with that fender as evidence, i sure hope you went over that brat with a fine tooth comb! One last thing. Welcome to the Board! You are not going to find a larger community based on restoring and preserving the life of these old Subaru's!!!
  8. So, do we get to see any pictures of that thing flexed? I dont care, i will settle for poser shots of your tires lifted with an engine hoist! I dont care! I just wanna see what that thing articulates like.
  9. To do a quick check on your turbo, you can unbolt the downpipe from the rear of the turbo itself, and gain access to the impellor. Grab its shaft (heh heh) and just give it a good jiggle. In & Out, then up & down.... if there is ANY.... ANY play at all, you may have issues.
  10. Dave. I left JBs earlier this morning cause i wasn't feeling too good. I brought the EA82 Seat I took out of my Brat up there to hand over to you, but i left it behind thinking you were going to arive. So, its up there if you want it
  11. Is your wife driving this thing around in 4WD?
  12. Want to see something crazy? Look at the timestamp of this post 8:10am and im wide awake. Been up for an hour for some reason. Anyhow. It looks like I might have to break out of there after the 'que on saturday night. Forgot I made plans with the Mom on Sunday. But thats cool, I still plan on commin up friday and kickin it at the higher elevations. Anything to get out of this 100 degree heat in the valley!!
  13. Can you be more specific? Where is the wobble? Front or rear? More wobble while acceleration, or more while braking? Does it matter at all? does it move? A tiny "ting ting ting" sound can come from your keys knocking against your console. I get *ting* sounds from straps laying in the bed of my Brat all the time I have never experienced a U joint on any of my Subarus going bad. And I have only owned a couple with 2pc driveshafts... none of which I ever had a problem with. However, I hear when they do go bad, they go quick and painfully. If you have a local Junkyard, it maybe worth the $50 to snag an extra shaft (with center bearing & carrier as well) just to eliminate the possibility. From there, I would inspect your front CV Joints, as that is the largest culprit for front end "wobble". And the sound they make when they go out is a click, not a ting
  14. I should be at Jibs friday morning. Hoping before 10am.
  15. I just come up for weekends. if iM driving 2 hours each way, im getting my moneys worth!! Thinking of comming early friday and hitting the junkyards. Anyone else going to be bored Friday?
  16. I will probably be up Friday afternoon and that way i dont have to fight traffic sat. morning.
  17. Rick is right. If your car does NOT pull to the right, you need to have an alignment done to correct it! For the reasons stated above. However, it should not be jerking your steering wheel out of your hand, and you should not need to keep the wheel steered to the left in order to drive straight. I say you take the car to a shop that specializes in Alignments.... and not the subaru dealer who specialize in selling you cars.
  18. This year is the 11th annual WCSS, and will be held in Southern Washington (or was it Northern Oregon). ANyhow, its right on the border this year. More info to be found in the Meet & Greet forum (hint: sticky)
  19. Waiting to see the pix of this thing in action!
  20. Yeah it might be 2am, but your still getting your answers! You should be able to unscrew the brass nipple (thats what they call it) from your old hitachi carburator, and screw it into the fuel inlet on the Weber. This is what I did on mine, i hope the EA82's hitachi is the same as the EA81's. As far as the hole in the air filter base, its for the PCV system. You can plug it to get you by. But later you will want to T both of your valve cover vents to it. Should have no problem making it to work on time tomorrow!
  21. Whatever you do, don't let my Subaru Wagon shell burn!! In all seriousness. I hope your property is safe, and the winds don't jinx you.
  22. That was me napping, i actually slept IN it at night
