99% Toyota, 1% Subaru, or something like that.
Im sure there is a law somewhere, and im sure someone cares. its not just CA. There are parking lights on vehicles for a reason. Anyhow, it wont take much to get your wiring figured out.

We will most likely end up on 84 at somepoint, just not sure which direction we'll be traveling.

WCSS 11 Date and Location!
Sunday is the day people pack and say their goodbyes. WCSS past we have had a RallyX on sunday's and the ones interested in attending usually stay late. But for us that have a couple days drive ahead of them, we're usually out by noon.

- Wider plug gap after MSD install
oh, i was thinking metric when everyone started speaking in .XX, i guess you are right. Screenshot it now, cause it will probably never happen again- Wider plug gap after MSD install
Stock is .44 or .40?- Wider plug gap after MSD install
So i got this MSD. I also picked up some 8mm plug wires and new rotor & cap for the disty. 3 weeks ago I installed new plugs, I will be pulling them when I install all these goodies to inspect them. It is feasable to increase to gap for a richer spark? Im not sure if the MSD coil is an actual upgrade, or just OEM equivalent and i should just keep plug spec's OEM as well. Just a curious question if anyone has actually measured and paid attention to a difference.- Motor swap guidance needed.
There is documentation on the board about doing a SPFI conversion on the older EA81's, using a EA82 SPFI for parts. I would follow that guide, as it will most likely be the same for your EA82 when it comes to wiring harness & ecu. The carb motor has really no ECU at all that can control the engine. The SPFI on the otherhand requires a ECU in order to even fire. There's no way around it.- 99% Toyota, 1% Subaru, or something like that.
You will get in more trouble for not having running lights than not using your front blinkers.- what do you keep your tools/gear in to prevent it from flying around?
You remember when I sunk my wagon right? Water will find ways to get into your car no matter how sealed you think it is. If anything, you want those holes to help drain the water- Documented: The 1970 FF-1 Project car...
Thats because nobody likes doing it, so the few that do wont do it for cheap.- 99% Toyota, 1% Subaru, or something like that.
Thanks I bought it like that but I've seen it done on alot of toyotas with no, or aftermarket front bumpers. I think it looks great.- Do-It-Yourself Bedliner...
I still have about 1/2 a gallon left, maybe less. I am thinking of doing the interior of my 4Runner in it. The texture would be near perfect. Its not as coarse as rhino lining, so it shouldnt catch & trap dirt as bad. However, im sure the entire interior of your subie will be a whole lot louder with it.- Caravan from Reno Nev. to the WCSS! All is welcome to join.
I'll have my laptop with me. Shouldnt have problems keeping you up to date. Plus im sure one of us has your cell#- Do-It-Yourself Bedliner...
Not quite rhino lining, but should outlast paint for sure.- Do-It-Yourself Bedliner...
Well i pretty much was forced to do this. I was traveling with a spare car battery in the bed, and it tipped over and leaked. Then proceeded to eat straight through the paint to expose some shiney metal. So I neutralized the acid and preppared the area, and bought some Rustoleum Bed Liner. I picked up a Gallon of roll on liner, and a can of the spray stuff. I used steel wool to scuff the bed, and break down all the surface rust. Also used my angle grinder to take care of some nasty stuff. No primer or anything, just started laying it on. I used the spray can to get corners and stuff... then rolled on a good coat with the gallon. Suprisingly to myself, I only used like 1/4 of the gallon for the first coat. So I did another coat and let it sit and dry. A week later, I went and bought 2 more cans of aerosol cans and masked the truck for its final coats. I used the roll on bedliner for pretty much everything except above and around the rear window. After a good thick coat of rolled on liner, i used the aerosol cans to hit heavily in the corners, and around all the tie down spots. Then I emptied my roller pan in the bed of the brat, and used the bed as a roller pan. The final coat consisted of about 1/3 gallon spilled in the bed little at a time and rolled around with an average paint roller. I think it should last me alittle while. And sure does look alot better than the beatup half rusty bed i used to have. A few pix of before, during & after: thats all from the first coat pretty much. Here are the ones from the following week with the masking and final coats: I ended up leaving every panel on except one. I was originally thinking of doing the panels seperatly but then got lazy. After you start a laying a coat of this stuff.... your head gets alittle whoooooozy and you kinda forget things. So I have to just do that 1 panel and the tail-gate, and its done. Also re-paint my rollbar & Install that.- 14" rim off road tires
A couple tires I wish they still made: Kumho Venture MTs & The Cooper Discoverer STT's. Both tires used to be available in a 205/75R14 size which was about 26.1" and worked perfectly on most mildly lifted subies (take a look at Greenleys ride for instance). When I bought my Kumho's I was told I got the last set TireRack.com had in stock and was not planning on ordering anymore. Then I heard Kumho pulled that size, but then re-released it and then pulled it again. Maybe do some homework and find a used set or a shop somewhere who might have old stock on hand. When I bought my Coopers (about 6 years now) I knew they were pulling that tire size soon. So i called around to all the local cooper tire dealers asking about that tire & size, and lucked out. I found a shop in West Sacramento that had 3 in the back they could not sell and gave me a killer deal on them along with ordering 1 more to make a complete set. Both tires worked extremely good off-road and shared the same dog-bone style tread pattern. The kumho's did feel stiffer and appear to be a better overall tire but both were still awesome off-road!- I stripped a hub... FTWORTH TX HELP
You maybe able to purchase a 36mm socket from Napa or Autozone and then return it when you are done, provided you dont get it covered in grease and grime. I have one, but im kinda far away. To get you buy, you can limp that thing in 4WD all day everyday, at 60mph if you wanted to. To get to work and back, it wont do any harm at all.- what do you keep your tools/gear in to prevent it from flying around?
I dont think I saw anybody say it, but I use a Milk Crate. And its wide enough inside to fit my ammo case snugly. Which is what I keep all my spare nuts & bolts, and other odds-n-ends in. Then there is room left over for a pair of jumper cables, tire iron, and a bag of tools... carb cleaner... brake fluid. Often I punch holes through the floor of the wagon to run straps through, and the honeycomb in the milk crate gives you plenty of straping down options.- WCSS 11 Date and Location!
