The dieseling can be solved if you buy the fuel shutoff solenoid. Cant remember the part number, i believe Mick has gotten it. The timing may help as well, but it is not the cause. Also, a fuel pressure regulator may help things as well. I believe the Weber only requires 3.5psi of fuel pressure. -Brian

How many converts here?
TheSubaruJunkie replied to ezapar's topic in Non Soob Cars and Bikes Discussion
Yotatech is a cool place, but it reminds me alittle like Nasioc in their layout. THey have forums for EVERYTHING, and it seems no one posts much in any forum. ALthough the guys at yotatech are far nicer than Pirate. -Brian -
How many converts here?

I wish i knew ken. The truck is as it was when i bought it, and I still dont know much about what it has. I do know the rear end is locked up, most likely welded. It probably looks like alot of drop cause of the lift and small tires. Mods I have in mind are front ARB, onboard air, hysteer conversion, and rear chevy springs. Just like always, money is the deciding factor with all my projects and we all know these things arent as cheap as subarus to modify. -Brian -

Actually, if you listen closely you'll hear the clacking of my front CV. And if you look closely, you'll notice how my rear tire wasnt spinning. Thats cause of a couple broken CV joints. Im sure if they werent broke, i would have stood a better chance of making it through. -Brian -

PSHA!!! :-p If your hatch had a lift, brushguard and roof rack it MIGHT have a fighting chance of looking as good as mine. Brian -

FT4WD center diff question
TheSubaruJunkie replied to Phizinza's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes, all Full Time 4WD Trannies for EA82's (usually EA82T's) and XT6's have a locking center diff. Only the RX came with Dual Range Full Time 4WD. -Brian -
How much ea82t crap can I cram in my brat?
TheSubaruJunkie replied to SuBrat84's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The T-coupe has to be 4WD for those rear disk's to work, but im sure it is 4WD. If your doing the 5speed swap, you'll need the flywheel from your brats motor, a EA82 clutch disk, a EA81 pressure plate, EA81 pilot bearing and EA82 throwout bearing. Ive never heard of using EA82 front suspension on a EA81, but It sounds like more pain than is worth... dont see much benefit, if you want some good suspension just go get new KYB GR2's for your Brat. REar suspension is completly different. -Brian -

Brakes: no Suspension: no Transmission and rear diff: Yes. Not much else really. The EA81 will bolt in, but you need to make sure the flywheels are the same. I believe in 1983 they still used the smaller flywheel and if the 83 Wagon is 2WD it will have the smaller flywheel for sure. Just something to pay attention to. -Brian -
The EA81T is not the same as any other EA81. The EA81T is MPFI, whereas EVERY other EA81 is carburated. MPFI motors have injectors in the heads... Carburated motors have... well, no injectors. In order to turbocharge your EA81, you will need heads from a EA81T, a turbocharger, the injectors, the wiring, the ECU. Not to mention, probably upgraded fuel lines to handle the pressure and an upgraded fuel pump. It could be done, they did offer EA81T Brats, just might be easier to do a complete engine swap and you will definatly need a donor vehicle. -Brian

Yes I believe patrick is supplying his lifts with the longer gas struts instead of the old horse shoe block for the rear struts. -Brian

Gen1 front headlights in gen2+ models??
TheSubaruJunkie replied to eddygordouk's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I dont think all the wiring will be there. The composite headlights we have now only have 1 plug leading to them, and the quad headlights you want will use 2 plugs on each corner. You'd probably need to locate the relays and swap all the wiring for them. -Brian -
ok heres the info and questions
TheSubaruJunkie replied to Subaru_Mechanic's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
Its more like the secondary jet not being primed, and when the secondary opens... instead of fuel/air all you get is air. -Brian -
Are you having problems braking? My RX has the same brakes as your car, and they are more than enough for the (lack of) power the EA82T has. -Brian
