  1. Climbs... you say a trail run Friday? What time do you plan on being at the show? Me and Jibs will be ariving early Friday and will be ready for some wheelin! -Brian
  2. Yeah rear disk removal in a junkyard has to be one of the toughest junk yard jobs ive done. Find a steel rim and try it that way, ive had success with the pry bar in the lugs trick, but it may lead to bleeding knuckles and/or excessive use of swear words. PB Blaster goes along way. -Brian
  3. Enough to make em fit. Shouldnt be alot. Really depends on the tires you run, not the rims. -Brian
  4. Does that mean Pimp or something? -Brian
  5. Yeah pitch stopper, engine stabalizer bar... same thing. Its a bar that runs from just under the spare tire area, and bolts to the engine. You gotta remove it, but he gives you an extension so it still used. -Brian
  6. $299.95 is a good deal for good tint. Get refferences, but just save for a few weeks. My dad bought a do it yourself tint kit from Kragen. He did it himself and it turned out looking like crap. REally, was horrible. -Brian
  7. Take a bar and stick it between the lugs. Use a long bar, then rotate the caliper so the bar hits the ground, and the lugs keep it from rotating. That or bring a buddy and have him sit on the brakes. But sometimes that doesnt work if the rotors are rusty. -Brian
  8. You gotta pay good money for good tint. My friend paid almost $500 to have his truck windows tinted. I got a quote for $175 for my RX, but after talking to other clients of theirs i decided not too. They had problems with their tint bubbling after a few weeks. -Brian
  9. I wouldnt use a clutch from the junkyard. Screw that, if your gonna do it, use new parts so your not doing it again in 3,000 miles. And, dont use 4x4 welders part number. '81 clutch wont work on your EA82. -Brian
  10. Rob those rims look GORGEOUS!! Definatly work on the other three and get them mounted up. That will really compliment the RX. And I vote for the alloy over the gold. Gold rims only look good on blue cars. Compliment them with some good tires. -Brian
  11. I think it looks badass with the PCV comming out of the front of the fender. -Brian
  12. Do the black, but try to polish those rims you have before you paint them. Yours are kinda faded and will take a while to get that chrome finish back. Find a RX kit yet? -Brian
  13. Doesnt matter, the calipers will work no matter what you chose. Ive used Sedan rear disks on EA81 wagons, and Wagon rear disks on EA81's as well. As long as you use all the parts from the donor you should be fine. -Brian
  14. 4th week of August is the big West Coast Subaru Show! BE THERE!!! http://www.westcoastsubarushow.com -Brian
  15. Yeah with the hose it should make your hole look alittle more round and not so jagged. Will also protect the PCV from getting all scratched up and should hold it still alittle better. -Brian
  16. Get some fuel line. 3/8" rubber hose, and cut a slit down the center of it. Then wrap the hole with the line, and it should give it a good look. Also, paint the surrounding area so it doesnt develop any rust. I would suggest white or silver or something to sorta match the paint. -Brian
  17. $1250 for the hatch. $400 for the tires. $125 for the rims. Lift came from my old wagon, cant really count that. But yeah, i think im still under the $2000 mark. If I added what I paid for my lift, my bumper & rack back in the day... i'd prolly be just over $2200. The hatch is still in pretty good condition. It wasnt mint by far when i got it. Developing rust under the fenders, drivers fender wil need to be replaced unless i can find a way to keep it from flapping around. While beating on body to clear the wheels I found even more rust. Oh, and if you think this thing was mint... you shoulda saw my wagon the day i bought it. That car looked like it rolled off the factory line... but i bought it for a purpose, same with this hatch, and sorry... but that purpose was to beat the crap outa it!! I promise I'll do it with love -Brian
  18. These are those pix! Only bath it'll see is a mud bath!! -Brian
  19. Gonna start a new thread, just because :-p I hate adding pix to page 2 of a post, and these pix deserve their own thread. Sure, she's not muddy just yet, but she's rollin out of the garage on all 4's!! This should be 56k friendly. If not, just wait And the money shot: Took it for a short drive around the block, tires dont rub at all... even when the wheel is fully locked. But, once i got it up into 2nd gear and started to gain speed the steering wheel started to jerk alittle. I know its not a CV, since I have none up front and im running in RWD. Im thinking one of the front tires isnt seating properly, and I may have to do alittle more work on the hubs. At least i hope so, hoping its not cause of the redrilling of the rims. Some of the lugs arent 100% perfect, and arent seating properly. Not sure if that would cause problems like this. All that's left really, is to re-install the engine stabalizer bar, cut the radiator hose, install the skid plate and electronics (CB, Air compressors, maybe a new stereo). Oh, and I need to get some CV's for the front. Payday is Friday and Saturday I'll goto Autozone and order 2 new GCK CV's, so hopefully next weekend I can get it muddy and really test things out. -Brian
  20. Yes, back on topic please. Thank You. -Brian
  21. Im kinda curious myself. Are you speaking from experience, or from your... -Brian
  22. Yes, if you look at the bolt pattern on your flywheel, you'll notice a couple of the holes are closer together and a couple are farther apart. This is so you can only bolt the flywheel on in one position. -Brian
  23. Not sure if Uberoo has ever bleed brakes before, but do not listen to his advice. The 1man kits out there work great if you dont have a friend handy, i havent used one myself, i usually call a buddy up and have him pump the brakes for me while i bleed them off. -Brian
  24. not really useless. Useless would be if I had nothing there at all, the stock skid plate is better than nothing, so i would consider it somewhat useful. And ive hit plenty of stuff with the BYB blocks, still look as new as the day I recieved them in the mail... over 3 years ago. -Brian
  25. Got the stock skid plate waiting to go back on. PK gives you a 3" block that allows you to maintain the stock skid plate, im going to do alittle work on it and pretty it up before I put it back on. Didnt get any work done yesterday, took a nap instead of workin in the garage. TOnight maybe I'll finish the other hub and get 'er done! -Brian
