  1. Fully custom rack made by an ex-board member named Soobme. He made my bumper too. I sent him the designs, and he sent me a finished product. Ive been talkin with PK Davis, and he's getting back into making more lifts. If you check out http://www.ozified.com you will see he's done some updating on his webpage. He's switching all aluminum blocks for lifts, and offering 3.5" for EA81's and i think 4" for EA82's. I love the way the hatch looks. Took it on a test drive and everything seems to be okay, i have alittle bit more to do... but the hardest part is out of the way. -Brian
  2. You'd need to put the clutch peddle in there, and a tranny. Thats about it. Oh, dont forget a flywheel and clutch too. Its been done, and is just a basic tranny swap. -Brian
  3. YOWZERS! That is a beatufiul car, but not worth $3g's. $1500, maybe even $2000 if I had it rotting in a bank account. But, the thing is mint, so maybe someone out there wants it bad enough. -Brian
  4. No sorry Phiz... front and rear brakes are completly different. No part is interchangeable. Not even the hub that bolts to the rotors. -Brian
  5. Needs a front axle before I can go wheel it. And i'd like to get my LSD installed and my tires on there. Next weekend I'll probably take it to get dirty. -Brian
  6. I went out after work and didnt get home till about 10:30pm, i was so tired I decided to get some sleep and just do it today :-p -Brian
  7. I think the reason for putting the tire under the hood, was cause subaru can. I dont think it makes any difference, maybe in an accident it will help keep the engine from going through your fire wall... but doubt that was subaru's intention. Putting the tire on your roof will cause more drag and decrease your fuel milage. The tire in your engine bay wont create any added heat, not any that would harm your motor. -Brian
  8. Would have been done sooner, but I had to wait for bolts from PK. Cant thank him enough for comming through for me!! Bolts came in yesterday, woke up early today and quickly slapped the blocks in the rear and wrapped everything up. I had to run to Autozone to get a new rear shock after messing up one of my new ones. I got the Gabriels for a '74 CHevelle, ended up drilling out the hole to 12mm and slotting the other side of the top mount. The bottom inserts worked from the old shocks and this method was 100x easier than trying to use the horseshoe adapter on stock shocks. So here we have it!! 1984 GL Hatch with a 3" lift I have my tires at Big O waiting for me to come by with my rims to have them mounted and ballanced. I bought the bits today to drill the rims, so I'll do that either tonight or tomorrow and Monday I'll take the rims to Big O. Now I just need a front axle so I can get my 4WD back, and we're in business!! -Brian
  9. Im pretty sure my 3" lift drops the motor 3" and the suspension 3" to retain stock CV geometry. -Brian
  10. Take a look at how the cable is routed to the clutch itself. If the bends arent propper and its not taking the right path, it will make it harder to engage the clutch. -Brian
  11. Yes, the tool helps alot! I'd suggest finding someone local to borrow one from, or maybe see if autozone has one you can rent. If the new engine doesnt have a flywheel, then your old flywheel should bolt right up. -Brian
  12. It shouldnt kill the motor... but the motor probably wont run long enough to make it. My engine only ran about 2min after milkshake started to develop. Soon afterwards, the shake made its way through the crank and choked my carburator. I made it less than 2 miles. That was the 2nd engine to have done that... the 1st i had with milkshake didnt even run long enough to make it onto the car dolly we were using to tow it home with. We ended up pushing it onto the dolly. If you really need to drive it, drain all the shake and put in new oil before you do so. It may prolong the milkshake effect, depending on how bad the gaskets are. -Brian
  13. Perfect!! I was thinking it would be great to get on some sand and play. Thanks for the tip, i'll look that up as well -Brian
  14. No clue, but i doubt the ECU is your problem. Did you look up barsotti yet? -Brian
  15. They would cost more than our rigs, and if you made the CV's stronger we'd be breaking diff stubs and other more expensive stuff. Do you have a supplier, or a machinist who can do this type of work? Have you looked into it? Stuff like this isnt cheap. While your at it, get us some lower gears cut for our tranny's. -Brian
  16. Yes, i am running 8mm wires for a EA82. And believe it or not, i noticed a difference after installing them. -Brian
  17. Thanks Hodaka, i'll take a look at the map program and see what I come up with. Seems we're gonna have alot of time to kill on the way, im sure a short detour wont knock us off schedule. -Brian
  18. Awesome!! Glad someone here got them. His thread came up the day I finalized the deal on my rims.... i was gonna try to get them, but figured the guy wouldnt want to hassle with shipping, and didnt want to backout on my current deal. Make sure we get to see some pix! -Brian
  19. WOW I dig the marker light in the fender!! -Brian
  20. Napa has never failed me. Except for when they hired that moron and now i gotta go back twice to get the right parts. NAPA = National Auto Parts Association, so they should carry auto parts there. -Brian
  21. HAHAH THATS AWESOME!! Wet feet suck tho... next time, use alittle momentum. I sure miss water crossings. Here in california, when summer comes all the water evaporates and leaves nothing but dust and dry dirt. -Brian
  22. Thats what i like to hear Craig! THANKS! I have map software that lists forest service roads, and Im thinking we'll probably stick to roads like that and maybe branch off on some trails if we pass by them. I'll look up these roads you speak of, and see if they're near the campsite i found. -Brian
  23. Yeah i did the map thing, and it looks like Eugene is only about 4 hrs from the show. So i think maybe we'll stay on 97 and not goto Eugene. We'll see. Would still like suggestions on some places to wheel tho. Nothing too extreme, we still have to drive to the show and back to Cali. -Brian
