  1. Yeah, how much and is the offset right? This is good news!
  2. Don't know how mquch of this applies since mine is a wagon and part time 4wd, so it only applies to dirt. Before I put the LSD in, I had a fair amount of understeer going in and out of the corners. Now she feels more neutral, doesn't want to over or under steer. Just kinda goes around the corner. I can induce a slide with a quick stab of the brakes to start sliding, then jump back on the throttle to straighten out. Kinda hard to 'splain. 180? Start tuning, jab the brakes to get sliding. At about 90 degrees, hit 1st, stab throttle, and aaarrrroounnnnd we go! WEEEE!!!
  3. Ha! Try driving though a rock garden or REALLY soft sand. 4Lo ain't low enough even with my 185/80 13s. Singletrack, Great looking wagon! Looks very nice!
  4. Yup, dat's what I use. Are you changing the fluid? If so, then U need to add that LSD additive: Posi-trac or somthing to that name. Said it was for Posi and LSD.
  5. Mine runs about 1/2 with the Subaru T-stat (190). After I put a REAL guage in, she runs about 210 in stop and go traffic and the efans running. Out on the hiway doing up to 60, both fans are off and reading about 205. Flat out driving, around 210-215. Granted, this is an EA82, But it gives ya an idea.
  6. My brother is running 195/60 R14s on his and he has no rubbing at all. However, he has not fully loaded it yet. Dunno, does two 100lb dogs in the back count as fully loaded?
  7. That is CUTE! I like it! Wow, 26" tires? They look little, but grearing is a major factor to tire size when U cant change the R&P. :-\
  8. Yup, Gotta love those Subaru engineers!
  9. Yeah, my original struts had the adjusters on them. I had mine all the way up. Went through CV axels about every 3k-5k miles! That's with almost all hiway miles with a Sunday afternoon off road trip in the mix!
  10. Ahhhh......THERE U are! I was just about 2 send U an email.
  11. Yup, it'll work. Subaru uses the same oil filter for the EA81, EA82 and ER27.
  12. Advance is running off the port on the carby. Checked the mech. advance, that is working. Vac advance is operating also. Tryied running the timing at 20 deg STILL no pinging! However, the tach started jumping a little at 20. So, I dropped it a little ( Don't know how much, didn't have the t-light attatched) and that solved that prob. Intristing, very intristing. She is running rather rich, don't know if that makes any differance or not, just thought I'd let ya know. I did pick up some jets and hopfully will get those in today and see what that will do.
  13. Took a trip up to Tucson today. Ran her flat out a few times, 95 easily! Most of the time I was just using the primary, just used the secondary when I need to accelerate quickly. Didn't use 4th at all; 5th gear the whole way! Happy RPM range is 3k to about 4.5k. Well, with the exhaust and carby setup I have at this point. Running 14 deg timing and havn't heard one ping! I How far can I go? Vac at idle (750 RPM) is about 16Hg; up in Tucson, I saw 19! This engine ROCKS!
  14. Sounds VERY electrical. Check ur connectons and as much of the wiring U can see. Make sure they're tight and no corrosion. I'd start there.
  15. Castrol GTX or Valvoline; for a turbo, 10w-30 is what I've read.
  16. Definatly sounds meaner. Sounds like the throttle response is a little quicker too. Looks good.
  17. Well, took her off road today. Wow, what a differance! I was crawling along around idle with no pedal effort and she just kept on puttin along! THAT'S the kind of torque I was looking for. No more step on the gas, just get over the hump, jump on the binders style of driving. Out on the hiway, she just cruzzes along happy as a lark. I do have a hiccup just as I open the secondary and I had to turn the idle speed in about a turn and a half. So, now it's operation tune the carb. Who's the best place to get a jet kit?
  18. Yup. Fogs are for seeing the road right in front of U whereas the driving lights or pencil beams are for seeing a LONG ways down the road.
  19. Got mine yesterday. Yes, those pics are cool! REALLY wish I coulda gone, BUT Suby had other plans. Anyways... I do have some problems reading the last three directories. They eventually show up after about 20 seconds. Hummm
  20. I'm jumpin off the walls!!! Me suby is back on the road! Yippee!!! Ordered an engine from CCR and FINALLY got it in and running. Biggest hangup was needing parts and having to order them. Like, engine and tranny mounts. Get this: Checker was the only place in town that could get the mounts. BUT the engine mounts took 5 days to get and the tranny mounts took overnight to get. What gives? The other tricky part was getting the ditsy lined up correctly. Anyways, Suby's running again and I no longer have to drive that van anymore. Oh, I suppose U'd like specs. yes? Carbed EA82 longblock, SPFI pistons, decked heads (I forget how much), Delta torque cams, new clutch, and new disty. Oh, and I also put Limited Slip in the rearend too. Now all that's left is exhaust, I'm thinking duals, and tweaking the carb. Took her for test drive around the block and I definetly notice an increace in lowend torque. WOO HOO!! Thanks CCR!!
  21. Noah, U DID get my PM, yes? I thought I put me address in there. Hummmm....
  22. Looks good! REALLY good! :clap:What's all attatched to the frame? Just the transfer case and axels? Or did you mount the engine and tranny to it too? Would like to see some close-ups of that setup, please?
