  1. cool, thanks. i will be at work as usual on saturday. yeah, that was an awesome place had some good times, definately have to do it again. hopefully some of the other board members will go next time too.
  2. yes. i've been to browns camp. good stuff some pretty hard stuff and some tame stuff. you can get a map of the area ( which i would suggest) that shows all the trails and difficulty rating and whitch ones are for bikes, quads and horses only but there are plenty of good class 2 trails too. if you are going to sandlake then i'm assuming that you know you need an atv permit. would love to come and join you but i think i have already planned something for that weekend. chaz
  3. noonish sounds good, see you at your place, chaz
  4. anybody else going to crooked finger tomorrow (may 28th, monday)?????? come on lets get somemore soobies going.
  5. don't matter to me. last time i think you posted meeting at 9 am, so 9-10 would be fine unless you need to alittle later. meet at your place or somewhere else??? is anybody else going that you know of??? haven't seen any one else posting on here.
  6. WOW , thats a hell of a crash, could have been alot worse considering where that stump was. sure glad everyone walked away ok.
  7. Interco tires makes the super swampers. not sure if you can get them down there but heres their website. www.intercotire.com
  8. hey pooparu did you get your parts??? are things still on for monday???? let me know i'm still in, don't see anything at the moment to stop me got the 14" tires on and hopefully the LSD will go in saturday morning or sometime on sunday.
  9. i bought the same come-a-long about 3 months ago haven't used it yet but i was looking at getting a couple of different leghtens of their choker cables, i already have a couple of straps for the tree. i figured that if i had some distance to p[ull that it would have to be done in stages until i was unstuck enough to be able to go the rest of the way under power. there is a different company out there that has a hand winch but they aren't taking orders right now that i was also considering. this technigue wouldn't be any different then with a hi-lift jack (which i used to get a friends truck out of a ditch and back up on the road last winter using chains and trees, he was good and stuck) where you only move the vehicle about 3 ft. at a time. so if you are looking at getting a come-a-long i would look at least at these they are high quality and alot better then thoughs cheap stamped steel one from taiwan or where ever they come from those things get bound up and come apart or bend, i've seen it happen and if your lucky you might get one use out of them before there junk . hope this helps. chaz
  10. not all the trails there are hardcore, there are some fairly tame ones. the map does show trail rating on it too.
  11. thats one b****en impreza. i like the pics you had earlier in the year wheelin with it too.
  12. as far as i know there is no real difference in the loyale vs. the GL, other then they didn't come with adjustable struts and they didn't have the dual range 5 spd. axles aren't different other then spline count suppose to be different between a carb. soobie and a fuel injection soobie but my 86 carb. GL D/R 5spd. wagon takes the same axle as the 89 spfi S/R 5spd. DL wagon took. the catalogs that i deal with at work show only 2 different front axles from 85-92 or 93 and the only 1 kind for the rear for the same years. as far as the lift kits go all EA82 take the same no difference other then how high you want to go. i would get the 87 GL thats pretty low miles my 86 has 208,000 on it. well good luck on your decision.
  13. thats cool and welcome to the board. so what kind and year soobie are you running???????????? stock soobies due pretty good offroad and with some kind of traction tire( like a snow tire thats rated for mud and snow) on it helps for traction too.
  14. nice pics and video. nice to see more newer soobies getting dirty, now you need to get it lifted. thats some nice mud you guys have over there. i love the mud, sure glad its started raining here again.
  15. awesome pictures . i love that kind of landscape (desert). someday i will have to make a trip down there and go wheelin with you guys. the hatch is looking good too.
  16. thats a cool place to go, lots of hardcore trails. you need an ohv permit/sticker or you can get ticketed, they do patrol that place. took my lifted sooby there last year and had a blast beat the piss out of it, will be going again soon once i get it going again.
  17. man that sucks. as far as i know i have nothing going on at this time and i should be able to get my diff. in and maybe some 14" tires on too, i have a couple of sizes i need to test fit. keep me posted.
  18. nice video, thats one good looking brat there too. cool music too.
  19. what brake part was that???? you should have came by my work to see if i could help. i couldn't get my lsd in in time went to work early to install and had stub shaft issues but i was still going to go anyway. chaz
  20. it wouldn't piss me off, it would just be sad but hey you got to have fun with it. right?
  21. nice video, looks like some good wheelin. thats not far from where i live, you'll have to tell me were thats at out there or show me .
  22. thats one nice hatch and i agree to bad your going to beat it up. oh, well, what would you do with it . guess it would make a good daily driver. yep someday i too will have a hatch. anyway nice score
  23. cool video, don't see much of the older soobs on here doing anything like that. thats way cool. i agree need an lsd under there.
  24. i haven't broke that bolt off (but i have stripped the threads out of the knuckle, i just put a longer bolt in with a nut on the other side )and that includes subarus in JY when i was getting steering knuckles for my 84 wagon when i first got it and thats using a cordless impact gun. true the balljoints get alittle stuck but a couple of good blows with a BFH and they usually pop out and as far as putting them in line them up if they don't pop in a couple of blows up with your BFH and it will go in without any problems. i, too have changed numorous axles on subarus doing this method without any problems and without touching the swaybar like i said there is enough give there to pry the control arm and balljoint loose from the steering knuckle and be able to swing the strut, hub, caliper and steering knuckle out of the way to remove the axle. i have done this with the tires still on too but prefer taking them off though. i'm by all means not saying your method is wrong but it does put strain on the control arm bushing (torque elastic bushing) unless your not tightening that bolt up until the vehicles weight is resting on its tires on the ground. to me the way i do it is easy and i'm not taking alot of extra things loose or off and running the risk of damaging anything else.
