  1. axles , Ive been thinkinn on this , most of the time they are strong enuf , its just that say %5 of the time we stress them past there limit, now if the axles had some give or flex say like rubber, or some slip like a clutch they wouldn't break cause they would never be stressed to that point, they do sell Sheer type axles for the VW based buggies were the sheer bolts break and you replace them quickly, but I don't think that's the answer, something with give at the point just before axle breakage , not sure the solution but know direction to go ,
  2. I like it, you see any disadvantage being so short? every get in a spot that you wished it had a longer wheelbase?
  3. its not only Subarus, you will find many a questionable builds on all types of vehicles, ever heard of a "Suicide frontend" on a hotrod? well theres a reason they call it that, people have been modifiying cars for there own purpose even before the first Model T Ford came off the line, how bout the Ford Pinto? they knew from there own tests that it may catch on fire and kill the occupants if rearended just right but out of greed they looked the other way knowing they were going to make a bundle o money and just pay out a few lawsuits, myself I enjoy seeing others creativity and myself enjoy making things and trying them out to see how they work, beleive me Ive made some junk along the way , If I never made a few mistakes I never would of learned on my own whats good and works well and what just wont cut it, the strut thing is the right Idea just needs some refining, maybe if we work together we united can come up with a great safe solution
  4. Thank You for your input, the new kit has evolved from the first few, sorry you had trouble with something I made,I had ran that kit on my own personal car for 1-1/2 years without a issue, then sold the car and the new owner had the same issue you had, I took that into consideration along with other improvement to come up with what I offer today its here if you want to view it http://www.sjrlift.com/index.php/catalog/lift-kits/0-6-lift-kit-ej-fits-90-99-detail this guy 'Subie57' just got the new kit and started a build thread on his 95 Impreza here http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/138102-lifting-my-95-impreza/ give him a while to post much as he just got going on it, Scott Owner and builder SJR lift

  10. what do you want in the end? the EJ22 is the superior engine Legacy brakes are way better for stopping bigger tires at high speeds the EA82 dual range is the best for low gears and a true 4wd with neither car has the loyale will need a older dualrange for offroad and larger tires
  11. little update, took this thing out a year ago , it has super low rear gears, goes good I like the rear flopper , well I changed out now I can run all same tires, I sold the yota front axle as it wasnt going to be easy ettin it all set up, also that dana 20 t-case howls leaks anf grunts so that things out and looks like Ill put a nissan case in there as it lines up well with the subbie diff, we will see
