  1. anyone else support this thought ? I remember on the old VW bugs the older simpler engines seem to have more lowend , Ill have to look into what I got thinking this engine should get a carb and go in a light sand/woods buggy SJR
  2. picked up another engine this one is a EJ 2.2 with single port exhast got the y pipe with it my question is , is the blocks the same and can I put dual port heads on it? also wich engine will have more low end torque ( thinking offroad crawling engine) can I mix the parts for more lowend torque? thanks Guys Scott
  3. my bad you will also need FWD Impreza front axles ( dont recall what year) and change the rear diff to a 3.9
  4. need dr tranny , starter and linkage ej-ea adapter plate ea redrilled flywheel driveline modified custom trannny crosmember mount and a partridge in a pear tree
  5. Ive used toyota 22r headbolts for that lift
  6. I have a old 26' model T truck cowl that is pretty flat may use parts of it for the shape, I want to build something that has a high fun value and a low price, years ago I had a model A coupe and it needed everything, I figure if I start with a modern vehicle most the works already done for me and the price is right, similar to this cowl / firewall
  7. I wish I could snap my fingers and get things done, got all these ideas in my head and very limited time to get them done
  8. got some more pics for ya Original engine steering shaft extended from 6-1/2 to 10-1/2 overall

  10. Been thinkin on this for a couple years, looks like it may come to pass , I would like to take a mini import pickup and convert it into a little Hot Rod heres a model I threw together , it started as a stock truck and I converted it thinkin once the white car if a runner and tyhe shops all cleaned up I should start on it , already have the truck lined up to get its a 86 Dodge d-50 m( mitsubishi) has a cracked head, I have a bronco 2 V-6 I could use and a 32' Ford front rad grill and lights
  11. you ell um Jeff we all want to see whats goin on
  12. whose offended? what Ive found is the trail is a great teacher, people can sit back at their computer and say anything they want but get out on the trail and all the talkin and braggin end, some are up to the task both car and driver and some are not, you need both traction and power to the ground and the skills to manage the terrain , you need to know your vehicle and know what it can do and what it can not you also need to know your vehicles weaknesses and work within those tollerances so not to break, over the last 4 years Ive learned alot from the soobies Ive driven Ive also learned alot about myself, Ive made many a mistakes and have learned from them, someday it would be cool to go down under and hang with you guys and go offroadin with you. my weak spot is I tend to smash up the right front corner of my car so maybe it would help me to sit and drive on that side of the car , my preference in a soobie for offroad would be EA82 axles, EJ 2.2 , Dual range 5-speed 3.9, Welded rear diff, 27-29" swampers , now here in Washington we see some good mud, seeing your pics you probably dont need good mud tires like we do, Cheers SJR
  13. Hard part done now for the engine swaporoo
  14. in WA you can regester it it your name them after 3-4? yrs get the title
  15. I think 'Soobie' or some reference to Subaru should be in the name Grocery Getter offroad

  17. good on ea82 on the ea81 you will eat axles
  18. there is no adjustment to correct this . to stock you would need to drop the complete suspension, the swing arm cross tube say 3 -4 ". diff will not effect Camber just axle life SJR
  19. were are you? I have free ones in NW wa
