shifter keeps popping out of gear...
subie94 replied to subie94's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXthanks for all replys... thank fully i have a spare trans..(but who knows what shape that's in.. i do notice some noise that seems to go away when i even just slightly press on clutch pedal.. i thought it might be because i have hill holder disconnected. since i've owned it,the closest i've been to the clutch is when i pulled engine to do head gaskets.unless when i put it back together,i did something wrong.. it all started about a month ago and i did the engine work about year and a half ago(if not longer, can't remember)

shifter keeps popping out of gear...
1992 legacy wagon, trans-5spd,engine-2.2 my "leggy" doesn't seem to like 4th gear.he'll pop the shifter out of 4th gear if i don't keep my hand of shifter.it doesn't come out of gear to hard so slightest nudge will do it.it does it mostly when speed is around 40 or slightly under cause anything higher and i'm in 5th(which has no problems).i'm wondering if it might be loose/bad trans mount because when trans is in 3rd gear and if i take my foot off gas,i notice the shifter will move forward.it does that ever so slightly while in 4th also...:-\ (i wonder if i anwsered my own question) i'm hopeing that it is only the trans mount and not something internal.. has anyone here had same issue? if so,was it the mount or something worse.? any help/suggestions would be appreciated.thank you

Just checking in...
nice find.. kinda wished i could get my 94 justy back..(probably can seeing that my mechanic owns it) though,it'd have to be a 3 season car seeing that it's 2wd... you gotta love the lack of power steering and 3cylinder shake at idle

Wheels turning the steering wheel
subie94 replied to DiscoStu's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXare you hearing any noise when this happens? like cruching, poping, etc. can you easily keep steering wheel still or do you have to fit it a little? i had a 86 gl wagon with bad outer cv joint and when joint would pop(after centering wheels from turn),it'd violently cause steering wheel to move...

smashed rear driver's door glass
subie94 replied to Legacy777's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXat least it was a door window and not one like a side rear cargo window (wagons) had some punk shoot a B.B at the glass but thankfully like yours,i had tint and only a couple frags fell out.. real fun replacing it though.all it cost me was the time it took to do it.

Steering gear (tie rod) boot torn
subie94 replied to outback_97's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXi do it that way also but i leave the castle nut on halfway.(so as to not damage threads by accident) i'm now thinking i'm gonna need tie-rods due to the fact that i'm getting a crunching sound from the 92's front-end when ever i turn or ride over a un-even spot in road... (just noticed the date of last post)

headlight bulb removal??
subie94 replied to starkiller's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXthe "push" writing, just tells ya where to push to make sure plug goes on correctly. you really pull that section to unplug it.may have to wiggly it seeing that they have tendency to be a'lil stuck on. after having it unplugged, you remove the rubber ring and then a spring clip. installing new bulb is just the reverse of removal.

the 92 legacy has come home..
subie94 replied to subie94's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXsemi-clean outside, complete filth on the inside...looks like it was never cleaned at all( i got about 1lb of dirt from carpets)took about 2hrs to clean the carpets and still not done. outside,it's mainly wash and then concentrate on the few rust spots..

Wicked Big Meet!
:banghead: i knew something was going on but side tracked by work.... not sure bert would of been show worthy though. (not unless you wanted to use her as a poster child of what happens when you don't take care of the rust(ok,she's not REALLY bad but..))

Can a non oem muffler make MPG alot less?
subie94 replied to ericem's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXwelding job (wasn't me) stock muffler http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c34/beretta92d/?action=view¤t=stockexhaust.flv unsilenced (not much back pressure) http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c34/beretta92d/?action=view¤t=vidclipwithoutsilencer.flv running with silencer in,sound is about half and the last 2-3 fill ups,i figured i got around 23-24mpg..having silencer out,i get about 20-21.(depending on how i drive that week too and all my driving is 99% city)

Wicked Big Meet!
i don't think bert is in any condition(to much rust)to enter in a show but maybe i could talk my friend into letting me bring his 94 justy (which is the one i use to own) not exactly old school but..

The Mother Of ALL Legacy's
subie94 replied to 86BRATMAN's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXi love this guys comment.. i'd say being able to kick up the speed an extra 80mph in about 13s is some thing to be over.. but then again it takes about 1-2mins for my legacy to do that
