got one of those last week..mounted it with ball mount on rear pass side.(still need to run coax to it though and gotta get pics) didn't realize how tall it'd be..towers over the roof (leans inward) as a side note..always make sure ball mount is tight, other wise you'll be dragging the tip.(found out on the highway that this can happen.slight flat part on the tip of it now) *edited to add pic of mounting* circled in red is where i'm supposed to attach the "copper part of the antenna cable" and circled in blue is where i'm supposed to attach some other part of the antenna cable..(can't remember what part) has anyone else had to connect to their antenna this way?

hate to bring back old threads from the dead but couldn't see starting a new one for simple question... are there antennas out there that are factory tuned and don't require adjustment?? and still give you good swr numbers.. thing is i don't have anything against them,it's just that i'd have to buy a swr meter to do the tuning and can't see spending the extra $$ if i don't have to.(trying to work with a small budget) i already have a cheap cobra radio that i finally put back in the car.. along with a cheap walmart antenna(that's tunable) i realy wanted something taller.(just doesn't seem like i have enough reach..)
  4. thanks for all replys... thank fully i have a spare trans..(but who knows what shape that's in.. i do notice some noise that seems to go away when i even just slightly press on clutch pedal.. i thought it might be because i have hill holder disconnected. since i've owned it,the closest i've been to the clutch is when i pulled engine to do head gaskets.unless when i put it back together,i did something wrong.. it all started about a month ago and i did the engine work about year and a half ago(if not longer, can't remember)
  5. 1992 legacy wagon, trans-5spd,engine-2.2 my "leggy" doesn't seem to like 4th gear.he'll pop the shifter out of 4th gear if i don't keep my hand of shifter.it doesn't come out of gear to hard so slightest nudge will do it.it does it mostly when speed is around 40 or slightly under cause anything higher and i'm in 5th(which has no problems).i'm wondering if it might be loose/bad trans mount because when trans is in 3rd gear and if i take my foot off gas,i notice the shifter will move forward.it does that ever so slightly while in 4th also...:-\ (i wonder if i anwsered my own question) i'm hopeing that it is only the trans mount and not something internal.. has anyone here had same issue? if so,was it the mount or something worse.? any help/suggestions would be appreciated.thank you
  6. my 92 legacy (2.2,5-spd) has approx 215,000 on the odometer..did have to replace head gaskets awhile back.(before i owned it) ya,i think it has something like over 800,000kms on it. http://users.adelphia.net/~nv1z/miles500000.html
  7. nice find.. kinda wished i could get my 94 justy back..(probably can seeing that my mechanic owns it) though,it'd have to be a 3 season car seeing that it's 2wd... you gotta love the lack of power steering and 3cylinder shake at idle
  8. are you hearing any noise when this happens? like cruching, poping, etc. can you easily keep steering wheel still or do you have to fit it a little? i had a 86 gl wagon with bad outer cv joint and when joint would pop(after centering wheels from turn),it'd violently cause steering wheel to move...
  9. at least it was a door window and not one like a side rear cargo window (wagons) had some punk shoot a B.B at the glass but thankfully like yours,i had tint and only a couple frags fell out.. real fun replacing it though.all it cost me was the time it took to do it.
  10. i do it that way also but i leave the castle nut on halfway.(so as to not damage threads by accident) i'm now thinking i'm gonna need tie-rods due to the fact that i'm getting a crunching sound from the 92's front-end when ever i turn or ride over a un-even spot in road... (just noticed the date of last post)
  11. well i've seen punk kids go and take mid 80S crx's and pimp em out (about 1/4 the way.. )
  12. too bad about your old soob.... Just don't make your honda into a ricer..
  13. yes, pull towards back of vehical.(which reminds me..i gotta replace mine) like i said,it may require some wiggling
  14. the "push" writing, just tells ya where to push to make sure plug goes on correctly. you really pull that section to unplug it.may have to wiggly it seeing that they have tendency to be a'lil stuck on. after having it unplugged, you remove the rubber ring and then a spring clip. installing new bulb is just the reverse of removal.
  15. semi-clean outside, complete filth on the inside...looks like it was never cleaned at all( i got about 1lb of dirt from carpets)took about 2hrs to clean the carpets and still not done. outside,it's mainly wash and then concentrate on the few rust spots..
  16. now i just gotta wait till mon(tues the latest) to get it registered.. pics were taken with cell phone http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=16277&cat=500&ppuser=9465 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=16276&cat=500&ppuser=9465 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=16278&cat=500&ppuser=9465 (yup, needs some cleaning) will be putting on the alloys that came off the 94 leg (snow flakes)http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=13694&cat=669 not to mention my cd player,speakers,etc...
  17. same here...same reason that's keeping me from pine barrens get togethers
  18. awesome pics..they'd make great ads for subaru
  19. = found this on youtube already.. they're saying it has gone soft.(less hp) not to mention what they did to the front end (just when i was getting used to the other one.) wonder when they'll have them over here for test drives
  20. = i couldn't believe he made it through with the jeep = i would of needed a change of shorts after that small river ride..
  21. :banghead: i knew something was going on but side tracked by work.... not sure bert would of been show worthy though. (not unless you wanted to use her as a poster child of what happens when you don't take care of the rust(ok,she's not REALLY bad but..))
  22. welding job (wasn't me) stock muffler http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c34/beretta92d/?action=view&current=stockexhaust.flv unsilenced (not much back pressure) http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c34/beretta92d/?action=view&current=vidclipwithoutsilencer.flv running with silencer in,sound is about half and the last 2-3 fill ups,i figured i got around 23-24mpg..having silencer out,i get about 20-21.(depending on how i drive that week too and all my driving is 99% city)
  23. i don't think bert is in any condition(to much rust)to enter in a show but maybe i could talk my friend into letting me bring his 94 justy (which is the one i use to own) not exactly old school but..
  24. even though i don't live anywhere near it i signed...cause even though i don't have one close by to me,i'd hate to see others lose something that keeps people from off-roading illegally
