  1. dave, what kinda bulbs did you have before the switch to HID? did you try just upgrading the bulbs? i've heard the silver star are pretty good..as soon as i can justify paying $30 for light-bulbs http://www.suvlights.com/index.php?cPath=59
  2. because soob owners are the only ones crazy enough to venture out in that kinda weather (am i right,or am i right?)
  3. martin?-what kinda tires you got on the OB? only reason i ask is because i had some cheap(and worn)all-season tires on my 92 legacy wagon and the only time i got stuck was when i got high centered on a pile of snow/ice.(lifted two tires right off the ground) i used to drive along this road that seemed to always get plowed last min and the snow would be up to the top of my front bumper and she'd keep going. *you know it's (kinda) deep when you got snow coming up over your hood* -i wish our streets looked like that(got snow tires on,just gotta wait now)
  4. i was surprised that the tone wheel didn't get damaged considering how badly the sensor tip got bent and chewed up..i'll have to check around for the cheapest.maybe junk yard
  5. not meaning to hi-jack but... has anyone ever replace the sensors? i have one that got damaged when that notched wheel some how came loose while driving an chewed up the sensor end.. i'm hopeing that it'll be simple (i'm sure it won't be cheap)
  6. i do plan on re-useing the old ones.they'll be for the no-snow seasons.so i should be able to clean them up some before useing them again. BTW-lots of curb rash on one or two (not from me)
  7. well i never said they were pretty.. just newer then old ones.IMO,they look better on the legacy then the stock wheels.which for some reason, don't look right. (now,i just gotta wait for snow)
  8. when my mechanic helped me w/my timing belt.he started the car without any other belts on or anything.. shouldn't be a problem..
  9. ----pacemark snowtrakkers i like the set i got for "bert" and the price was great (free).now i just gotta wait for snow to try them out. http://www.epinions.com/auto-Tires-All-Discount_Tire_Co__Pacemark_Snowtrakker/display_~reviews
  10. and they were free... will have to start saving for some summer tires ---they've only seen one winter --now i gotta find a place to store my alloys..(might have them unmounted and worry just about the rims seeing that the tires are almost gone) so now that tires will pass inspection, gotta see about rotors,pads,etc..all before this month is over
  11. i know..the 94 justy i got of this kid(which owned it for a month) for $175. was originaly owned by a little old lady and it's only probs was small rust at bottom of fenders.and she only had 74,000 miles on her. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- yarikoptic-i'd write them 1st,leave your # and if they want to talk, they can call.if someone called me about a car i owned,i'd gladly chat away.(but some might get freaked..)
  12. great...now i'm gonna have to go check mine out tomorrow.. (but if i remember correctly,my gt is opposite...body is rustin and underneath is fine..)
  13. (i wish there were old hatches around here) that's kinda how it was with me going from my 94 leg to the 94 justy.and then back a week or two later..though it seemed to take off faster then the legacy :-\ (getting the justy back this tax time)
  14. congrats on the newest member..looks real nice i love that color too..
  15. funny you mentioned zip-ties...i did that route once and silencer blow out after melting ties. and got ran over by a truck.it's wedged back in for now. (better take off now that i have some more back pressure) yup, after getting it hooked up correctly, the CEL went out..
  16. i tried useing the stock pressure sending unit and as soon as i started the engine, guage pegged to the red. i think the stock unit sends a signal saying there's good pressure and doesn't send real pressure levels.. what ever guage you get should have a sending unit.they normally have two posts (1 for stock wire an 1 for guage) hope this helps..
  17. ok good.at least it's not something serious.. gonna pull it bk apart tomorrow and reconnect cable better.how do i reset code? i don't have to disconnect battery do i? oh,besideds changing bulbs.some other things i did today to my soob is changed out wiper arm leakage(of course i ended up putting one new section and one old section back in ,cleaned out heater fan(bunch of leaves an pine needles) i also meant to re-intall the mufflers silencer..
  18. cause after replaceing some instrument panel lights and after getting it all buttoned back up.i relized that i might not of connected the speedo cable fully.wasn't able to pull dash apart cause i was over my sisters and it had gotten dark by the time i decided to check...well i decided i'd just drive home with no speedo and about half way the CEL comes on.didn't notice the engine running any differently. so would the lack of speedo cable hooked up fully cause the light to come on? didn't know if there was some kind of sensor or something.. any comments or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks
  19. i mainly just wanted the tires but missed out.. turns out my mech has a set of mud/snow mounted on steel wheels for me.tires only saw one winter use then parked....(plus there free)
  20. 1 question..how were you running it in rwd? (what did you pull the front half-shafts?) remind me to never let you drive my legacy
  21. i used that fix on the 89 gl-10 i had.only dif was that the heat shield i had rattle from was from the turbo heat shield..
  22. so when you coming up? let me know a couple days in advance,so i'll know if i'm free.. i guess once you come up here an i snap off acouple pics...it'll get folks to stop whining about the lact of pics..
  23. reason that i was hoping was cause there's a set of four mounted tires for free in my local paper.size is 205/74/14's (M&S) and they're mounted on early 90s ford ranger wheels.. i found out that rangers used a larger pattern(114,i believe) and where legacy is 100mm.would it be feasible to use them by elongate the holes or should i just put tires on my wheels? http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0oGkjhdYyhF6SEBsc9XNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTE3M282bmw4BGNvbG8DdwRsA1dTMQRwb3MDNgRzZWMDc3IEdnRpZANZUzk4XzExNw--/SIG=11ogn32mi/EXP=1160361181/**http%3a//wheeltool.com/info/5bolt.html
  24. that was useful,(thanks for putting link).i think i'll see about picking up a can of the maf cleaner.
