  1. yup, that's basiclly how you gotta do it when you don't have air power(luckly my mech does)
  2. well if you do use OB springs, you'll need the OB strut caps..which like austin said to get the OB strut caps to fit,you may have to mod the holes they mount in..(re-drill new ones) as far as i know, the OB springs are stiffer the legacys.not sure if they provide any more height.
  3. i was about to say that...specially were he has to hi-rev the engine to move the car...and slowly at that.
  4. where are you getting the power from? if you don't really use that storage compartment below the radio, you could mount it in there...? maybe?
  5. damn...last accident was with my 86 gl.wagon.women pulled out from behind someone waiting to turn left and BAM i almost took off the front end of a volvo.i did spin her about 180 degrees.my speed was about 40-45(she was pretty much standing still) but cause it had just started to snow and ground was wet,i didn't leave skid marks(just slided into and past) so the cops couldn't figure how fast i was really going. (rad was hanging an everything, when i stopped 20-30 away i had her parts falling down on my gl) man,i wish i could of seen that from a third person view. anyway, the damage to the gl was hardly that bad...nose did get shifted a bit and rad got pushed into timing belt covers but no leaks..and something tore a nice hole in the front driversside corner of the hood(i think that's where her rad support got me,had to of been that) ..didn't mean to seem to hi-jack..glad neither of you got hurt.. (i'll have to scan the polaroids and post the carnage)
  6. before i bought it,both front fenders were rusted out at that spot behind the tire and infront of the doors..friend cut an welded new parts along with paint..now bottom edge of rear hatch, driversside rear wheel well edge, and about a 3-4" spot on pass side front door.. i knew i should of taken care of it before got worse.
  7. has anyone mounted their air horns behind the grill? wasn't sure about room.. BTW-i'd like my leg to sound like these two trucks.. http://dieselairhorns.com/bythetracks/displayimage.php?album=4&pos=20 (friggin nuts!!)
  8. did you use dry graphite? or something like white litium grease? only thing that sucks is that previous owner covered both front doors with dynamat and i'll have to uncover the sticky mess..
  9. i take it your talking about the body rust? ya,i definatly need some body work..been meaning to since last summer..
  10. that was a vac line(can't remember where it comes from).as far as how the engine ran,no real change.when my mechanic gave the engine gas(manually from T-body),the vac from the T body pull the cleaner into the intake manifold and soaked the top side of the valves, etc we let it sit for about 30mins and started it back up(after rehooking up that vac line) ran the engine up to about 2000-2500rpms for about ten mins and let her smoke.did that process acouple of times until she barely smoked.(the exhaust has a interesting smell from the carbon an cleaner being burnt off)
  11. well as an update to the effects that the cleaning had of the MPG of the leg.. last time i checked i got about 22mpg,this last fill up i figured out that i got about 25mpg(1/4 is on highway) not sure if i should consider it cause this recent(today) fill up was with highway miles and last one(last week) was without...
  12. unfortunately i don't have them.didn't even think to save them. i just wasn't paying attention and didn't have the key in all the way and then twisted..snapped at a skinny spot in the key. i gave a soob dealer a call and i can have another key cut for $6 bucks..just gotta drive acouple towns over.(40-50 min drive) i explained to them how i had an sti key cut from vin and he said something about how the door locks are different in the newer model soobs and that is why i have to wiggle the key to open the gate and unlock the doors but no problems with the ignition cause that didn't change..(if that makes sence)
  13. the original and the vin cut did look different, but i just thought that it was due to the fact that the original was old an worned down.i have several spares, maybe i'll try a'lil filing and see how it works out.
  14. maybe about a yr ago i had a key cut for my 94 legacy(spare sti key) when i got it,it was rough useing it.it'd work ok on drivers door an ignition but when it came to pass an tailgate lock,it'd give me problems(not want to turn or go in smoothly)so i mainly use it in emergencys well to make a long story short,i had to have some copys made do to the fact that the original broke while unlocking the leg and now i'm dealing with the problems all over again an don't have a properly working key to fall back on. now, could it be the fact that the locks are worn down and no quite matching with the new an old(sti) keys? or could the sti key actually been cut a'lil off and is there a way of fixing it like doing some mild filing.. as of right now,i cringe when i go to unlock the car cuz i'm worried about having the key brake off in the lock.already had it happen with the old key(luckly was able to pull out piece that broke off) anyone every have the same problem and if so,how'd you deal with it. maybe some dry graphite?
  15. the 86 gl wagon i had yrs back used to love the twisty back roads. and the dual range never let me down.
  16. the battle wagon looks pretty damn good...(better then my 94,which needs extensive rust repair) you gotta let me know how the shifter fix goes and how you did it,mine has some major slop. which means you got about 20-21mpg.i get anywhere from 21-23(city)depending on how i decide to drive that week.
  17. i used the seat back hinge for my ground though on my last install. i've learn that sometimes it's better to do the work myself (unless it's gonna be a complete custom job) try monster cable..i have 0-2 guage.plus stinger battery terminals.pos terminal gives me the ability to hook up two amps (if i had two) http://stingerelectronics.com/ http://www.monstercable.com/
  18. strat-so,how far up this did you make it? you got a great place to wheel..kinda makes me jealous great pics too.
  19. i wasn't sure, but i did do a search..:-p testy, you say it's dangerous...but in the right hands,it could be fun. did anyone attempt to watch the vids? he wipes the floor with a 2000 corvette,2005 mustang gt and a 2005 honda w/v-tec? (i feel bad for his neck, taking off like it does must press him into the seat)
  20. that's ok..for a minute there,i thought you had a dropped legacy.
  21. i myself would find it hard to see one in a demo derby let alone drive one in one.. unless there's no way to save the body(still)
  22. http://sites.rapidus.net/labrecqj/justywrx/english.html justy owners might wanna see...it's awesome it's the kind of set up that would give me a permanent grin
  23. do you have or can you ger a side pic of you legacy... cause if it is at 1.75 off the ground then i'd say your pretty much sitting on the ground.. i also take it that the legacy was used whe you bought it.if so,did previous owner mention anything about him/her lowering the soob? cause that's the only way i can think of that a legacy would be that close to the ground..unless all four springs are busted and struts are gone..
