  1. Remember these engines are used in airplanes. They have to be reliable and are well balanced at the same time. Alot of people with older gen Legacy's running the EJ22,EJ22T have gotten up to the 500,000+miles range and at that time just needed a headgasket, still the engines were perfect. I am sure the same applies for the EJ25 just the headgasket is prone more early as you know.
  2. Post another thread asking If someone could please carfax this. Looks pretty cool. Still $7000 seems sort of exspensive. It basically a Impreza hatch. Not very large. Like check out this outback only $4k+ more but you get same mileage, but 2003! and much larger vehicle. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=212957233&dealer_id=46033508&car_year=2003&model=SUBOUTBK&num_records=&systime=1196396434125&make2=&start_year=2000&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=25&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&make=SUB&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=30101&advanced=&end_year=2008&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=10&superSpotlight= Here are other outback's in the GA area. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/searchresults.jsp?num_records=&search_lang=en&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&search_type=both&distance=25&address=30101&marketZipError=false&style_flag=1&make=SUB&model=SUBOUTBK&make2=&start_year=2000&end_year=2008&min_price=&max_price=&transmission=&engine=&drive=&doors=&fuel=&max_mileage=&color=&keywords_display=&sort_type=priceDESC&body_code=0&certified=&advanced=&default_sort=priceDESC&awsp=false&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&systime=1196396434125 Look at like 03+ since you shouldn't have to worry about headgasket issue like I said.
  3. A good tune up. New plugs, fuel filter, air filter, wires, fuel injection cleaner(or seafoam in the tank and seafoam through the intake.) Then again its a 04. Id look at the maps to tune the car.
  4. Definitely a Outback or a Baja! They have increase ground clearance. They all have Full time all wheel drive. If your looking for good years. Check out 2003-2008. Previous models had EJ25 Motor which had headgasket issues.
  5. It would sort of be wrong because one side will be working more efficiently then the other most likely.
  6. I am noticing alot of newer subaru's showing up on here compared to older ones. I guess Subaru lost some quality.
  7. Ya who knows might turn out to be something simple. Definitely worth it to spend money on the car if it runs fine. For $200 its a steal especially if it has the EJ22T.
  8. No it could be a sign of a Subaru that needs a oil change or oil PERIOD! LOL or a Subaru that needs it yearly dose of seafoam
  9. Hmm, so I guess if your not using a OEM thermostat you would loose power? I am using those no name Napa ones. Guess I better get a OEM one.
  10. Electrical problem. Maybe it's a ground issue? Or the ECM itself.
  11. Ya possibly. I know on the back off my head unit in my 93 it has a DIN connector. Do you have a pic of your connector? If I find my radio ill take a pic of the connector on the back.
  12. The tires being out of balance can cause it Also check the wheels nuts maybe they are not torqued evenly.
  13. Great !! Thanks! One thing though I need to mention is the crank pulley need to be torqued down to 140ft-lb's. Atleast thats what had to be done with my Legacy.
  14. +1 or find maybe a local guy who does hvac he has the guages you need and a recovery tank and a vacuum, and can get the refrigerant.
  15. that is a good idea eh xD. Hey nipper is it possible to rebuild the o-rings on the a/c compressor? I am thinking with mine the shaft o-rings are definitely worn.
  16. Ya! Alot cheaper so not such a big risk .HEY!!! I got a idea manarius you have a SVX and it has a 3.3 H6 why don't you hook up a big mofo turbocharger and tell us how it goes
  17. No they are not. A turbo engine would have a higher flow injector. Have you check the spark plugs?
  18. How can a spoiler cause so much grief??!!!!! Maybe you should look into taking it apart yourself.
