  1. '85 RX should still have the placards on the rear doors. It could have had these parts transplanted into it. RX's definitely did not have digi's or Sunroofs. I have an '85 full line brochure that I will check out and let you know what else I can find out. I tried to check Corky's site for the VIN info but it appears to be off-line at the moment.
  2. That would be a folical illusion.
  3. Irony?, well, I was looking at the line up pics and asked my wife what she saw and that you guys were doomed from that point on. I really hope no one drove on the grounds. Not a bad turn out at all though. I just realized viewing the group photo that have personally met 6 of the people in that pic.(and the photographer I believe{Vickaroo})
  4. Go to the Georgetown testing station. There is an emissions tech that works out of his van across the street. He is state certified and guarrantees that he can pass you or he won't charge. He can also help with exemptions if neccessary.
  5. For something like that I recommend Brian's Subaru in Burien. He's been in the biz for 20+ yrs and knows his stuff. I offer my services but I am behind on the stuff I have to do right now and it could take a while to get to.
  6. Mike, do the fornts and add the rear discs. Completely flush the lines with new fluid and all should be good. Long pedal traval is usually a sign that the rears are out of adjustment.
  7. Was wondering about your where-abouts Dante. Glad to hear things are going good. Sounds like fun. We should be getting ready for a run shortly. Keep an eye on the board. Ken
  8. I'll ante up as well. I know Tim and Mick are prepared for just about anything trail wise. Hope to see pics and hear that all get out OK.
  9. They work fine when they are adjusted up. However, that doesn't last. I don't like the fact that a car made in the late 70's and up was done with manually adjusted brakes. Let us know how they feel in 3 months or so.
  10. CIS turned up nothing. However, a search for CIS mechanical fuel injection produced this post from Noah. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2551&highlight=mechanical+fuel+injection
  11. Another satisfied convert!!
  12. I agree. Let's stick with the idea not the individual.
  13. Fuel mixture adjustments will also eliminate the rough idle along with the timing adjustments.
  14. Hey Brian, glad to see you're still about. If you have any concerns about passing emissions contact Ed and he'll let you know where to find the emissions guy in Seattle. He can usually get it adjusted to pass. He works out of his truck next door to the Georgetown emissions station. Ken
  15. The black and white flyer is a good idea. We can use the color one on a back board and distribute the black and white ones.
  16. Jeff, the USMB link isn't the website. This is that URL http://members.dsl-only.net/~sawlid/wcss6/ I am on cable so you can send me the high res pic. Can you also update the logo's from the website to the flyer? You can add the email addy's as well. Thanks, Ken
  17. That sounds like Rollie's Brat. We put the lift on in my garage.(back when I could get cars in the garage )
  18. To get responses you should provide a better title. Be descriptive and you'll get replies.
  19. Andy, if all you did was remove the rears you shouldn't need to bleed the others unless you ran it dry of fluid. Probably just need to bleed it some more.
  20. EA82's are longer. They have the same spline count but the shaft is longer. They really aren't interchangable.
  21. I specifically recommend 1stSubaruparts. I know them personally and get no kick backs from my endorsements. They will give you a better than fair price. They are knowledgable and above all a pleasure to deal with. If you talk to them on the phone don't hesitate to tell them Ken sent you. Be sure to state you want the internet pricing and you'll get the best price possible.
  22. Should be a plug and play. I have installed discs in 2X and 4X. Same install on both. Much better set up that surprises me Subaru didn't do.
  23. I would have to concur with 'freak on this. I have run EA82 flywheels with a number of 5sp swaps and have not experienced a vibration due to engine speed. I would be willing to bet that the pressure plate may not be set on the flywheel right though. There are marks on the flywheel and the pressure plate. They have to be at least 100 degrees away from eachother. The mark is on the ring gear and the plate. It looks like a circle imprinted into the metal. These are used for referencing the two parts. Unfortunately, the only way to check that would be to seperate the engine and trans.
  24. Hydraulics can be added to a solid motor only when it is in a disassembled state. The solid casting doesn't allow for lifter removal as the hydraulic casting does.
